Forgot to ask. Is 1.0.3 the PvP patch or is that totally different patch that's a long ways away still
Total different. PvP is a ways off still, 1.0.3 should be the Jeweler & Blacksmith pricing changes + some other small stuff (if those don't go in with 1.0.2b)
5200dps at level 55 seems plenty high. I don't think I was anywhere near that at 55 or even killing Diablo on Hell, and at 60 and having killed Butcher in Inferno I have just over 8Kdps (just under 10Kdps with +15% self buff).
Your build is very offensive, maybe blues are giving you trouble because of the damage you receive? Maybe give Mantra of Evasion of Healing a try and see if that helps you? I don't have any huge problems with your build, I used a far more defensive one personally. Don't assume you need more damage than that though for hell =)
To be fair, I have crumbled hundreds of pillars and support columns in dungeons merely by walking by with Sweeping Winds on. I think us recreating them seems only right. Shame about them blowing up all over again a couple seconds later.
I use the G700 and love it. The buttons on the side did take a bit of getting used to, but by the time I was level 15 hitting them for skills was second nature. I leave it plugged in all the time as well and haven't had any problems with the cord personally, but that could be how my desk is setup. I had a G9 before it and liked that as well, but the laser died after a couple years and I had more cord problems with that one. I've been using the G700 for 6 months now (and all of D3) and have 0 complaints. I definitely did 1-60 using only the mouse and never touching my keyboard (Inferno is a bit harder, I find the shift key rather useful for kiting)
I've been hearing that Blizz is planning to nerf Revenge... If they do then i really don't know how a barb will ever survive beyond act 2 inferno... I'm currently in act 3 inferno and it's insane.... and i consider myself pretty well geared with 700-800 resist/ 45k HP/ 8-9k armor/ 13k dps unbuffed/ 1.1k life on hit, and i'm still having some problems in act 3 and if they do nerf revenge i don't even want to imagine trying to farm it.
Did you see something in a blue post, or is this just conjecture?
Yeah, that was my reaction. I haven't seen anything from a blue about revenge being too powerful. My guess is someone said "Revenge is so powerful, I bet it gets nerfed!" then someone else parrots "I heard it might get nerfed!" and then it just goes from there. I read the blue tracker rather obsessively and have seen nothing about revenge getting changed =)
That is exactly how I shopped when leveling.
1Handed weapon, has Dex, has vit, max buyout price of 10,000. Find any rare with those stats, buy & use! Do it again in a couple levels, put the old weapon up there for the same price I paid. =)
I tend to move dropped items pretty quickly assuming others are doing the same, I put them up for a pretty low buyout (but still 10x-20x what I'd get from in game vendors), and many sell after the 5minute window is up. If they don't sell, I drop the price and relist.
Yea, each difficulty level makes Life Leech % less effective. Even in Hell I was noticing my 2% life leech was barely moving my health pool when in normal that same amount would make my health jump up. Life on Hit is very noticeable though! I've stopped dropping +damage gems into my weapons and +life on hit gems instead.
I bought weapons as I progressed through Hell, but that was it. I figured it wasn't worth the time to search for other items, and I haven't been having too much trouble in hell. The weapon makes such a huge difference though, I bought a new one at level 52, 56 and 58. (160 dps, 230dps, 360dps all with 120+ dex for my monk). I'm just shy of 60 now and just starting Act IV hell, I'll probably buy one more blue ~600dps weapon then to get through Act IV. Its nice that I can just sell them back for what I paid after I upgraded too, so no huge monetary commitment, more like renting!
Honestly the weapon upgrades helped a lot, but I found near-equal quality a few levels after I bought them, those levels certainly would have taken longer without the bump though.
The hardest I have run into so far wasn't really that hard, and was only in Nightmare, it was more who I had with me when I ran into the pack:
Vampiric Plagued.
With Tyrael following me around sometime in Act 3. Who is invincible.
He'd just stand in the poison pools and heal the monster to full in seconds. I'm a monk, so I had to get up near them as well to do much.
The only way I finally got them down was dismissing my follower (I had the templar, I guess I could have switched to a ranged one too), and then waiting for one to focus on Tyrael and lure the other two off on their own and taking them down, I could take them down on my own OK by not standing in posion. When I had just 1 left I couldn't out-dps the health Tyrael was giving it, so I ran to a waypoint, I'd port into town, jump back, hit it a bit and repeat before Tyrael could stand on the posion. Took 10-15 minutes total for me to get them down.
But how could the destroyed souls of Mephisto and Diablo flow into the Stone? I want a more definitive answer than Adria just saying "lawl I found them and put 'em in there".
From what I understand of the Lore of the Soulstones, the reason for their destruction was that they had been corrupted. Per: http://diablo.wikia.com/wiki/Soulstone the soulstones were allowing the prime evils to tap into the World Stone and gain more power while in Sanctuary. They needed to be destroyed to stop this (and eventually, the world stone itself). But that didn't destroy the souls of the Diablo and Mephisto, it just sent them back to Hell... exactly under what circumstances and how I can't find a good explanation for, but probably without a host or body which they could use to exert direct control on anything.
From Act 2 we know that Adria found the souls and marked them somehow, and from Act 3/4 we know this was with Diablo's blessing/guidance. The mechanics of the how we don't know, but I think you'll just have to accept that fact for now (maybe more answers in the expansion?).
But nothing says that destroying the soulstones destroyed the souls of prime evils. Maybe once their bodies are gone and there are no soulstones, they have no way to influence anything, but soulstones are wildcards that allow them to do more than intended.
When you finally get Zoltun Kulle his body back, he goes into the room with the Black Soulstone and activates it. At this point you see red energy flow into it, and he exclaims (paraphrased) "what! the souls of the 5 lords of hell reside in this stone!"
Kulle instantly knows what is going on (and seems to most of the time, redoing Act 2 knowing the final outcome, it is pretty clear he knows what is actually going down). After you defeat him, when questioned Adria reveals that she spent her time away after Leah's birth in Hell tracking down and marking the souls of the 5 defeated lords so they would flow into the Black Soulstone upon its activation (she just didn't know where it was prior to you & Leah bringing Kulle back to life.)
To question 2, I think the problem with the angels is an open question. Tyrael has stepped into the role of Wisdom at the end, and I assume your character steps into the role of Justice (total speculation, but it makes sense?). I'm betting Imperius isn't happy about that The dangling threads of Adria and Imperius making for a rather likely expansion, wouldn't you say?

Did you read the article?
"1.7GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB RAM, Intel HD Graphics 3000 384MB"
Compaed to his 2.7 GHz i7, 4GB Ram, Intel HD 3000
I'd say his is better than the Air in that article.

Seems your computer is better than that one.
So yes!
Probably not at max, but certainly playable.
