posted a message on will 1.0.3 help?
Remains to be seen what the Act 2 difficulty smoothing will be exactly, but any help there is something! It's very frustrating having to spend so long in Act 1 and feeling like you're getting no where.

I like the new NV mechanic (1 less guaranteed rare for Bosses, 1 more for champs/rares), coupled with the chance at ilvl63 items in Act 1 & 2, means farming should be more lucrative and quick as well. At the very least, you'll at least feel like you're getting more done in the same amount of time. I'm very much looking forward to it.

posted a message on LoH with Dual Wielding
Yup, the LoH from the 2nd weapon and the first weapon add together and are gained on all hits. So Weapon 1 has +250 LoH, weapon 2 has +400 LoH, every hit gives you 650 life.

Seems to be a viable way to progress if you don't want to go the Shield Route. You take more damage, but attack faster (15% bump to speed for dual wielding) and heal more on hits (weapons are far and away the largest source of Life on Hit you can find). I have a friend who has far less armor, far less resistance and less DPS than I, however, he's dual wielding and has almost 1700 Life on Hit total and is progressing a lot faster than me. He says he has to keep attacking non-stop though, if he isn't punching, he's dying.

    Different playstyle, certainly doable.

    Quote from paroxysm2010

T_T what if i knew where the guy lived? does that change anything?

What, so you could like...go break his legs if he reclaimed the account?

Knowing his address won't prevent him from reclaiming the account. What I think it entails is providing the info first attached to the account or original credit card number for online purchases.

Not saying that this person would do that, but, it can be done and has been plenty to people who have purchased WoW accounts in the past.

posted a message on HELP, buying diablo 3 used online
Yes, each code that comes with the game can only be used once. Buying it used would be a very bad idea. Yes, you would need the user/password for the account made with it, however, the original owner can at any time reclaim the account by calling Blizzard and giving them some info. So the person you buy it from could essentially steal it back from you at any point.

It is a bad idea to buy the game used.

    1) sadly, weapons only compare to your main hand, ignoring the fact tab you'll be replacing your offhand too. Happens with shields as well (shows a lesser defensive drop than it really will be)

Or you can keep your unidentified items and sell them unidentified when they get buffed. It's a lame thing to do, but I'm sure a lot of people is saving up.

I don't think you can sell items unidentified on the auction houses, so you'd have to do in-game in-person trades. And... I bet people will be rather skeptical of why you won't ID the damn item. Maybe it you hide it away for 6 months and try then. But, there's a sucker born every minute, so, best of luck on your minor-virtual-con-artistry!

posted a message on Nephalem Valor counter-productive?
I definitely still experiment with builds even with the NV buff. But rather than my "build" being for one fight, I set it at the start of my game session, play for 15-60 minutes with it and see how it goes. If, with it, I can get 5 NV stacks, yay! If not, try a new one!

The cookie cutter builds at the moment are definitely the best starting point, but I think a lot of that is how rather undergeared most of us, so whatever build lets us do well in Inferno, we stick with. As people get more gear I think you'll see more crazy experimental builds. I personally really want to do a 2Hed highly offensive monk, I think I'm only 2billion gold worth of gear from doing it too!

posted a message on about people asking for waypoints
    Quote from Cahoots

Because you don't have to do all of act 2 to progress to act 3 if you have a buddy in act 3. Just get them to send you an invite and voila! you can start doing siegebreaker runs.

yes but that's inviting them to do the quest, not just giving them the waypoint. which I think is the OP's point.

I think the term is just a holder over from D2, where you could get a waypoint to skip ahead. Here you just need to be invited by a friend to a quest beyond your own, its effectively the same idea but a different manor between the two games.

posted a message on I got charge for sale tax on purchase on RMAH?
    Here, specifically:

    http://us.battle.net/support/en/article/diablo-iii-auction-house-regional-information#q8

    "
Tax laws vary by region, and it's possible that you may be required to pay tax on income you collect from real-money auction house sales. Certain states also impose a sales tax on all digital purchases, which is collected at the time a player purchases an item from the real-money auction house. Check your local tax regulations or consult a tax advisor for more information."

Texas must be one of those states.

    I'll go post on battle.net

On battle.net they have a hard rule against all 'petition' threads. So you can post there. It will be locked and/or deleted soon after though.

Avoid the word petition and ask it in a different way and you might get a discussion going.

Neither of us called him names. And he certainly asked for D3 items, and said all he could find were D2 items. Please read before making accusations.

Ha, are those items listed at $250 actually "going for" that, meaning, selling at that price, or are they just listed at that price and sitting there.

Ha. Had one like that. Invulnerable, Nightmare, Fast, Molten, on a Coven Summoner so his minions were the demon things. Made it easy to see who I really had to kill, not that I could ever get near enough to touch him as he stood behind a lake of molten fire that I was unwillingly running away from.

Oh, I have to mention the funniest I've come across.

Only on nightmare, but it was one of the longer fights I've ever had. Act 3, heading towards Azmodan, with Tyrael following.

Plagued Vampiric. Tyrael would stand in the plague pools, and is of course invincible, and take so much damage that he'd full heal them all. I had to first dismiss my companion to lower the healing going to them, then pull one at a time away from Tyrael, burn him down, and go get the next. When I was down to just 1 (out of 4 starting, Tyrael would not get out of the pools and I couldn't out damage the healing. I had to drag the thing over to a waypoint, port to town, back to the monster, hit it a few times and repeat, before Tyrael could heal it back up.
