the problem is that you need to be close to them so ur EB actually hits them, molten is like instagib, dont tell me I need 900 all res/9k armor/ 30kHP to have a shot..... I see guys with like 1k+ all res and 8k+ armor, so u need that to kill those? rly?

Molten is instagib IF YOU STAND IN IT. Actually, I can survive for a few seconds with my gear. In any case, as long as you are slowly kiting them backward, YOU SHOULD NEVER BE STANDING IN MOLTEN. What is not clear about this?

1k all res and 8k armor is easily achievable on a budget; all you have to do is suck up the fact that your gear is not going to have 150+ int per piece on it for a while.

don't say that this playstyle is cheap, with just necessary stats you will start suffering from act 2 so you will always need to efford your milions to improve it

just like other playstyles and nothing more

    Nope.

    Quote from Gapek1988

This build is nerfed after Patch 1.0.3b... before that i was almost immortal on Act 2 after that patch i got truly problems ... -.-

Please do not spread misinformation within my thread.

    Quote from Madwizz

I tried this build cuz my ordinary porb/blizz/vhydra sorc sometimes had setback on teleport/firechains or vortex/molten on act3(not too much trouble though), but in order to get those tank stats to hold ur ground against those things u rly need a lot of armor/all res, meaning u give up too much dps/mf on gear for that... sure porb/blizz/vhydra is boring, but it can kill anything without too much problems, Im not impressed with this build... or maybe Im playing it wrong against molten or fire chains, still this build takes longer to kill things...

I dunno, I find that my 22k damage from character page goes quite a long way considering just how fast I am dealing it. I have no doubt that the cookie cutter spec deals more damage to single targets, but it's certainly not a LOT more, and considering that I almost never die or have to kite, my uptime is close to 100%. I would say you were playing it wrong or did not have the right gear.

PS - your spec is quite terrible...critical mass with only one cooldown ability? Not sure if that is troll or not.

I'd be eaten alive without Diamond Skin up, lol.

This is not a tank wizard spec.

There are variations. This is just one out of many.

No, this one is just flat out plain wrong. The lack of frost nova and explosive blast is mind-boggling, particularly when frost nova alone would have made this a 5-10 minute video. Enchant weapon and familiar are completely irrelevant; venom hydra alone would have given more damage output than EW/familiar/timewarp combined. Do some research and find a real spec, lol.

spec is totally legit...works wonders...but the gear is lacking according to those numbers...

im playing tank wizard myself...but i have 40k dps, while maintaining barbarian-like defstats...it wasnt cheap i wont deny that, but its so much fun - wicked wind with critical mass

You did not read, nor did you pay attention. This is not a tank wizard spec.

This is rather alarming. Any idea if this is legit?

Pro tip: when assessing how biased a source is on the internet, try typing the name into wikipedia and see what comes up:

Gee, I THINK Freep may have a slight ideological bias. And probably is not staffed by professional meteorologists. Just a thought.

If so, I just want to give a big fat "well played" kudos to left-wing parties around the world for such a highly successful power grab tactic! Wonder what will happen now...

Why even phrase this thread as a question if you've already picked a team to join and are busy waving their flag around?

Bro, this is all over the internet on multiple websites. Pro tip - when assessing whether a piece of news is biased, try typing the topic into google. :)
And? Now its on this website and that makes it less biased?

Your logical leap here is that a scientific article becomes biased when picked up by a biased news media? This is highly amusing to me. :)

It does. This website states what they think this paper means. They tell their side of the story. Read the actual paper instead, not some guys opinion on it.

Wrong, it's the same exact story cross-posted all over the internet (think it originated on UK Register).

    Epeen of Awesomeness
    1000 LoH
    100% crit damage
    socketed
    350 vitality
    1.4 speed

    Callllllmmm down.

Seriously though, this is why the more aggressive specs are A) Much more fun due to not killing the same pack for 20 minutes and B ) Scale with life steal even if its not as good as Life on Hit currently, your gear will make it as good and it might even see a buff later on.

P.S. Tank Barb is way boring.

    What are you even saying?

I see the price of skull grasps goes up 2m every day. If I wanted to make 2m every day just to keep up with inflation I would have to play at least 4 hours a day. Fuck my life.

Or you could go flip some burgers and make $20 in that same time period?

Oh jeez, either you guys are really dull, or I am just not communicating this properly.

Listen up. CURRENTLY, LIFE ON HIT FUNCTIONS AT 100% IN INFERNO. THE POST I LINKED BY BLIZZARD SPECIFICALLY STATES THAT IT SHOULD BE FUNCTIONING AT 20%.

    Possibilities:

    1) Clueless web team - LoH is working properly
    2) Clueless devs - LoH is not working properly and they have not realized it yet
    3) Web team basing content update on FUTURE PATCH

As LoH is currently so far ahead of everything else, to the extent that a wizard's Deep Cuts glyph on Spectral Blades actually provides 2-3x more healing than Healing Blades due to the LoH coefficient differences between the two, and the argument of "people's gear will catch up" being a moot point as many people have climbed the pinnacle of gear and are STILL using LoH...

I'm leaning on #3. Alarmist, I know, but if so, well, I said it first.

I think how it's worded is confusing the OP. How it's worded is LOH is nerfed the same way life steal is.

But that's not the case since I have 1099 LOH and I currently get all of it every hit in inferno.

    Penny in the air...

Or are devs REALLY this clueless?

    http://us.battle.net...game-difficulty

    Life Steal

The effectiveness of life steal skills, equipment, and gems – those that heal you on hit or kill, NOT health globe or life regeneration bonuses – is reduced in advanced difficulties, as shown:
    • Normal: 100%
    • Nightmare: 70%
    • Hell: 40%
    • Inferno: 20%
For example, if you have a weapon that provides you with 100 Life each time you hit a monster, it will be reduced to 70 Life in Nightmare difficulty.

I put together this melee sorc, its pretty good in general, but I suffer with molten/firechains with some other annoying affixes, how much EHP do you guys need to withstand molten firechains?? this build is so hyped I dont know, I have porb/blizz/vhydra gear, and it can deal with any affixes without too much trouble..... melee not so much....

You don't need to withstand molten firechains, you need to move out of it just like every other class...

I already described the best method of dealing with fire chains; kite them diagonally and spam the hell out of cold snap frost nova. Of course glass cannon gear cannot do melee, lol!
