I think a big part of this kind of sentiment is that elemental damage isn't on the char sheet DPS total. I think what people really want is steady progression that they can see, and a lot don't really know how much they've improved since the expansion. It's probably more than they know, but the fact that they don't know is the issue itself.

I'm seriously doing T3 with 110k. Solo. I accept your compliment.

For the record, I buff up to 110k. I'm actually lower than that. :P
I could go and do T6 with 50k DPS, I'm sure, but that's not a very smart move aside from trying to act like a forum tough guy.
I see what you did there. B)

    You have a nice day.

I thought the old inferno system made sense: certain item levels dropped only on certain difficulties, and you worked your way up.
Oh, really now. Is that how the old inferno system worked?

Are you talking about the ORIGINAL inferno system? The one that was a massive fucking failure because the gear progression didn't match with the monster difficulty progression at all? Yeah, that made total sense. I wish Blizzard would go back to that system that did way more damage to the franchise than any other decision they've made.

I loved "working my way up" by going to the AH to buy Act 2/3 drops so that I could move from Act 1 into Act 2 because the items I found in Act 1 weren't remotely sufficient to make it into Act 2. That was completely logical and totally fun. I sure hope Blizzard brings that back immediately so that I can jam my arm, up to the elbow, into a blender.

As to your ultimate question: what can you do to get upgrades again? The answer is quite simple. You've played for 6-8 hours per day for six days, so 36-48 hours. I don't know about you, but I never had the expectation that 50 hours in 2.x would give me a 350k DPS toon roflstomping T6 like a boss. As it stands, my WD entered 2.x with roughly 90k DPS and I've very easily got him up to 115k DPS, so it's not like upgrades aren't out there for people in your "damage range."

Also, if you're doing T3 with just 110k DPS you're almost certainly being carried. For a guy who is pining for the way it used to be, that ultra-hardcore inferno mode, I'd like to think you take more pride in yourself than to be carried. My wizard, self-buffed, is around 170k DPS and T2 is not exactly super-fast. How you're killing in T3 with anywhere near enough efficiency to find items with just 110k DPS is beyond me.

I mean, it's not all about catching up with my friend. At this point, I'd just like to be getting solid upgrades once in a while. Is it possible that loot 2.0 just has a ceiling for player progression? I'm sure I'm not at a hard cap, but it damn sure feels like I'm hitting diminishing returns pretty hard.

How do I get upgrades in loot 2.0? I'm at 110k dps right now (brand new toon) doing T3 and I'm not getting upgrades outside of legendaries ever. My friend is at 350k dps and I'm hoping to catch him someday, but I've been playing 6-8 hours a day and getting almost nothing out of it. I thought the old inferno system made sense: certain item levels dropped only on certain difficulties, and you worked your way up. Here, it feels like T1-T3 drop exactly the same loot. Not more, not better. Just the same.

What can I do to get upgrades again? If there's something I can be doing, I'd like to hear. Thanks.

I keep hearing how amazing it is, but I just got it and I can't believe how short the distance of the spell is. I have to basically be all up in the mob pack's grill just to spam it. The best part about dire bats is the fact that the mobs don't even have to be ON THE SCREEN!

So what's the deal here? Why is zombie bears so good? I understand it does more damage, but I'd like to use it other times than soul walk/spirit rez.
