They said they plan to have a bigger gap between seasons. We might see current season end before the holidays, and MAYBE get the patch, but the new season won't start til after, to address any bugs. At the same time, season could end before end of month, no patch til Jan 5th/6th, then season starts on 8th.
couldve swore at blizzcon they said we will be seeing it late december, was i dreaming?

Actually, it directly does affect people trying to test things on the PTR, when they cannot even make a game for 1hr, 2hr, 10hrs, etc. cause everyone is like "LOL Legendaries raining from the sky!"
PTR - Public Test Realm, for testing new changes for a patch, not having a lootfest cause the needs of the PTR require people to loot more items. "Fun" is to be had on the live servers. Testing of new mechanics is for the PTR.

Well, unsure if it does more damage based on more fury or less... but the damage of the cleave would be 300% on the low end, and 400% on the high end. It will never do less than 300% weapon damage, or more than 400% weapon damage. At least that is how I see the text implying the effect.

Plus, from what I can tell, both games lack gamepad support, or even a launcher/options of any sorts.Posted in: News

That is the point of Legendaries though, to be build and gameplay changers. Otherwise it is "Using X skill? Stack Attack Speed/Crit Hit and Damage/Cooldown Reduction, in this order..."Quote from SinR
can we please do away with builds that require certain pieces of gear? Or at least not showcase them on the front page?
Gear that changes HOW abilities work, is what makes different builds. -

what a load of bliz PR horseshit, the section on pvp and the launch is just crap, "In terms of the actual game, our development team had total say on if and when Diablo III was ready for release, and we shipped it only after we felt it had met our vision for what a great game could be on day 1."
Really? GREAT?
i would barely rate it sub-par on day one, based on connectivity and server issues alone.
So, you have say 2mil people play on your Open Beta weekend, figuring there will be a fair bit more for launch, maybe double that, based on pre-order info from retailers and digital orders + annual pass.
Turns out your estimations were off by about 100%.
HOW do you plan for that? Overcompensate to the point of ridiculousness, only to have to sit with unused hardware (refering to your connectivity and server issues).
I think they did damn well, considering that their servers got so heavily flooded on launch, they had no idea it was gonna be that bad. And Mike Morhaime ADMITTED TO IT. They planned based on expectations from retailer info and digital sales. The fact it doubled that or something crazy was beyond their scope of knowledge. Would you like them to start working with Ms Cleo to determine what the playerbase and customer wants, to try and pre-emp all our demands and interests? -
May 22, 2012ZeroEdgeir posted a message on Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.2.9749 Coming SoonFor those with ATI cards, I will say this: I have a Radeon HD 6670, and when I updated to the 12.x drivers, I went from stable, to having blue screens (only like once every 2-3 days, but it was always a graphic driver failure).Posted in: News
I rolled back to 11.8 (which was my previous driver update), and I have had no graphical issues, or blue screens, anywhere, since then.
Alot of complaints exist on the web of the 12.x drivers being horribly unstable, regardless of which video card you got with ATI. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

But I am turning all my sales into character re-investment to get that progression going further.

Enemy has a 2% chance to drop magical (or better) item.
You have 100% MF.
Enemy now has a 4% chance to drop magical (or better) item. (This is a 100% improvement over the normal)
When enemy drops items, RNG roll is made. If it falls in the large section labeled "Magic" you get a blue item. The yellow section labeled "Rare" is much smaller. And smaller still is of course "Legendary/Set".
Nephalem Valor, currently anyways, ensures that a Boss enemy will always drop 2 rare items, with a 5-stack. Come 1.0.3 (possibly this Tuesday), that will be reduced to only 1, but all champion packs will also always drop 1 rare per kill at 5 stacks. These guaranteed drops are not really impacted by MF, except maybe in checking if they can be Legendary or not (and lets face it, almost always won't be).
I have yet to hear Blizzard state that MF affects the stats of items on top of the the items dropping. Stating that you get better quality items with higher MF can be just as equally tied to RNG as not, consider that even a single weapon has a DPS range that gets determined upon it dropping, they are not 100% fixed values. And that doesn't even factor in any traits from being magical. What you stated is not fact until there is official documentation that proves it in the game's code. It is merely what you believe to have seen.

But you ave the answer you seek now. Why do those of us who have killed Diablo keep playing? Cause we find some aspect of it fun.
Some play to min/max. Some play to try and make some money (be it RM or Gold) on the AH. Some people Just got nothing else better to do right now (see those who made mention of waiting on GW2).
Everyone has their level of interests. I won't play much of any FPS game, as it just doesn't interest me. But if that is what someone else enjoys, more power to em. Have fun.

The act of farming better gear to you seems to be a wasted point with you. You don;t like the idea? Cool. So this style of game isn't for you. Feel free to move on. Others, like myself, enjoy it. We actually derive entertainment from the process of min/maxxing our characters, to squeeze out every last 0.1 of DPS or 0.01% damage reduction. Anything to make our character better. And that is us. That doesn't have to be you. Find another game you can enjoy, for the reasons you want to enjoy it.
Personally, when it comes to video games for me, and I've been gaming for almost 25 years now, the games I want to own, are the ones I can go back to and play again, and enjoy again, should the interest arise. If a game lacks any replay value to me, then I have little interest in wanting to own it. Video games are not cheap, and should be an investment towards your entertainment. Some people might like to pay $60 for a single game, play it for 20-40 hours, beat the game, and call it a day, maybe pick it up again in 6 months or something. Myself, I greatly prefer being able to spend said $60 on a game, that I can play, beat, and go back and replay it again... and again... and again. Whether the replay value is because of additional unlocks like Chrono Trigger's New Game + mode, or just for the gameplay and storyline of Breath of Fire 3, or even the challenge of Diablo's Hardcore Mode, it is additional value to the game.

Molten + Vortex + Jailer all on a pack of Dune Dervishes.
Vortexed, jailed, and they all spun up, I was turned into sliced ham.
Since then, only thing that bugs me mostly, is the Invuln Minions (which we ALL hate). Especially something like this:
Invulnerable Minions + Fast + Molten + Frozen on SPIDERLINGS - I'm sorry, what did I do to deserve THAT?
On the flip-side, my funniest kill (both for me and the elite) was in Inferno, an elite with Missile Dampening + Reflects Damage. I didn't see what he had, just saw the dampening aura around him. Lobbed a couple Nether Tentacles in, and began kiting him atop them, killing him superfast. Just as he died, so did I.

Balancing the difficulty curve is not nerfing, when the currently existing curve is not the design goal the company wanted.
It is PERCEIVED nerfing by the community (and a very small portion of it), because they don't want other people in their "stomping grounds", so to speak.
Also, it is going to support further build/playstyle diversity in the end-game, instead of there being 1-4 "REQUIRED" skills, for any class, to even be viable (let alone optimal).

Otherwise, I'm good with no recount-like feature. It isn't needed.

To be fair... Bosses are FAR easier than champion packs and elites, in a general sense.
I like where this change is going. It doesn't make bosses unrewarding, but it does put more value on the champion packs and elites out there, instead of JUST farming a 5-stack and killing the nearest boss.

And with the pending upgrade to them, I hope I don't see any, cause they will be de-vauled once they all get buffed (since it won't be retroactive).

To be fair, I am not gonna be surprised to see the majority of the PC gaming market go this route within the next 2-5 years. Wouldn't be shocked if consoles do too, in the next gen systems.
It is all to protect their intellectual property and product from piracy (as much as people will claim otherwise). When you can't play the game without verifying your copy online, it means that your product is genuine, and the company makes their money as it is entitled to them.

Yeah, the whole "I wanna just play single-player" when you knew back when... at LEAST as early as Blizzcon 2011 (so, late October) that it was online-required... REALLY now?

This way, you can use 2 Hatred Generators like Hungering Arrow AND Bola Shot, at the same time, for example.
