They said they plan to have a bigger gap between seasons. We might see current season end before the holidays, and MAYBE get the patch, but the new season won't start til after, to address any bugs. At the same time, season could end before end of month, no patch til Jan 5th/6th, then season starts on 8th.
couldve swore at blizzcon they said we will be seeing it late december, was i dreaming?

Actually, it directly does affect people trying to test things on the PTR, when they cannot even make a game for 1hr, 2hr, 10hrs, etc. cause everyone is like "LOL Legendaries raining from the sky!"
PTR - Public Test Realm, for testing new changes for a patch, not having a lootfest cause the needs of the PTR require people to loot more items. "Fun" is to be had on the live servers. Testing of new mechanics is for the PTR.

Well, unsure if it does more damage based on more fury or less... but the damage of the cleave would be 300% on the low end, and 400% on the high end. It will never do less than 300% weapon damage, or more than 400% weapon damage. At least that is how I see the text implying the effect.

Plus, from what I can tell, both games lack gamepad support, or even a launcher/options of any sorts.Posted in: News

That is the point of Legendaries though, to be build and gameplay changers. Otherwise it is "Using X skill? Stack Attack Speed/Crit Hit and Damage/Cooldown Reduction, in this order..."Quote from SinR
can we please do away with builds that require certain pieces of gear? Or at least not showcase them on the front page?
Gear that changes HOW abilities work, is what makes different builds. -

what a load of bliz PR horseshit, the section on pvp and the launch is just crap, "In terms of the actual game, our development team had total say on if and when Diablo III was ready for release, and we shipped it only after we felt it had met our vision for what a great game could be on day 1."
Really? GREAT?
i would barely rate it sub-par on day one, based on connectivity and server issues alone.
So, you have say 2mil people play on your Open Beta weekend, figuring there will be a fair bit more for launch, maybe double that, based on pre-order info from retailers and digital orders + annual pass.
Turns out your estimations were off by about 100%.
HOW do you plan for that? Overcompensate to the point of ridiculousness, only to have to sit with unused hardware (refering to your connectivity and server issues).
I think they did damn well, considering that their servers got so heavily flooded on launch, they had no idea it was gonna be that bad. And Mike Morhaime ADMITTED TO IT. They planned based on expectations from retailer info and digital sales. The fact it doubled that or something crazy was beyond their scope of knowledge. Would you like them to start working with Ms Cleo to determine what the playerbase and customer wants, to try and pre-emp all our demands and interests? -
May 22, 2012ZeroEdgeir posted a message on Diablo 3 Patch 1.0.2.9749 Coming SoonFor those with ATI cards, I will say this: I have a Radeon HD 6670, and when I updated to the 12.x drivers, I went from stable, to having blue screens (only like once every 2-3 days, but it was always a graphic driver failure).Posted in: News
I rolled back to 11.8 (which was my previous driver update), and I have had no graphical issues, or blue screens, anywhere, since then.
Alot of complaints exist on the web of the 12.x drivers being horribly unstable, regardless of which video card you got with ATI. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

I've had nearly no issue with Act 2 (short of DPS on Kulle and Belial, but that was before I switched to Arcane Dynamo and got a wand upgrade).
I'd definitely say your armor is a bit low, I was running around 7000-8000 through Act 2, though it isn't likely gonna break you.
Wave of Force is crazy helpful, IMO, and it helps alleviate being surrounded.
As to why I changed my Meteor rune, is because my Wand has 10 Arcane Power on Crit as a stat, so I can keep them coming out steadily with the Arcane Dynamo stacks (100k is a low end 5-stack Meteor crit for me, and I only got 17.8k DPS and 103% crit damage. I've seen em break 130k).
I also went back to the Deep Wounds rune for Spectral, cause it plays well with both Critical Mass and Arcane Dynamo: Bleed crits count for Critical Mass triggers, and Bleed damage counts for Arcane Dynamo triggers.
I know not everything I posted helps out in surviving. I found that having Wave of Force, Frost Nova, and Diamond Skin, to give you lots of options to stop gibbing from such combos. Oh, and Wave of Force will put a smile on your face every time you kill Desert Wasps with their own projectiles (they take like 30-40k damage from them).

It is possible to get that much, but to do it, here is how it works:
1 Property is a +XX for a single stat, upwards of like 120 or so.
1 Property is a +XX/+XX for two stats, upwards of like 50-80.
It is possible to get both on one item.
And yes, Strength can too. Your ideal would be for it to have +Strength, and then +Strength/+Vitality.
Oh, compound the fact that there is 2 users for Dex and Int items, while only 1 for Strength, does skew the market some too.

1: Nearly impossible to get 5 stack for Rakanoth (It IS possible, I had it happen once, on Act 4 of Hell difficulty, and he does give the bonus rares with it)
2: Most of the enemies in Act 4 are beyond annoying to fight.
3: The drop rates are the same as they are in Act 3.
4: No Treasure Goblins (that I recall anyways).
5: Too few enemies to kill that are worth killing (only 2 bosses get the bonus, and alot fewer champion packs).

The 5% set bonus at 4 pieces is crushed by the fact the set is only ilevel 61, meaning no piece can get maximum (since ilevel 63 is needed to hit the 20%, ilevel 62 is 18%, and ilevel 61 is 16%).
So, given that you lose 4% per slot (unsure on the amulet's losses, but I imagine it is likely upwards of 8%), that is.... 16% loss if you don't use the amulet, to get a 5% gain? Math not working my friend.

While the % chance of each ilevel drop is fixed, you assume that by getting 100 drops, you will get the established statistical result of said posted drop rates.
However, that is simply not true. You could get 10,000 drops and potentially NEVER see an ilevel 63 in Act 1. So, assuming the drop chance to be fixed and assured to produce the end result, is incorrect.
Additionally, while MF does increase the chance of an item being Magic/Rare/Legendary/Set, we do NOT know the numbers it is amplifying. We do not know the inherit "Chance to Drop Magical Item" value of monsters, so we have no way to know how much a given MF% applies to it. It could be that Act 3/4 enemies have a like 7% chance, where Act 1 is only 5%. That would HORRIBLY skew your results. Trying to complete a formula with missing variables doesn't work.

Start on Imprisoned Angel quest at The Cursed Hold part.
Go through Cemetery of the Fallen, Fields of Misery, Festering Woods, Southern Highlands, Northern Highlands, Halls of Agony Level 2 through to the Butcher.
Easily 15+ elite/champion packs, 2 bosses, upwards of 7-8 Resplendent Chests, usually well over 250,000 gold, done just over 90 minutes.

So you will be looking for nearly a "perfect" weapon in this case.
If you can find one with one of those stats and a socket, you can artificially add the other (Amethyst is LoH, Emerald is Crit Damage).
Beyond compromising, either on DPS (Actual DPS of the weapon or Crit Damage) or survivability (Life on Hit), you will be needing a fair bit more money.
I spent over a month looking for a new weapon for my Wizard (melee wizard, so I value similar stats to you, just Int instead of Str), to replace my 650 DPS wand that has 111 Int, 175 Vit, 550 LoH, and a socket. That was hard to improve on, but I finally found one for 2mil. It cost me in survivability (no more LoH, no socket), but the boost to my Int, crit damage, and the critical hits grant arcane power, was one of the DPS boosts I needed to actually start mowing through content better.

After Patch 1.1, the crafted Legendaries will be buffed, just like the others, and will be worth ALOT.
Save em to sell or to craft, post-patch.

We do, from the Prismatic Armor rune on Energy Armor... what he was saying was that it wasn't enough.

Act 2, barring the enrage timers on Kulle and Belial, is equally joke-worthy.
Act 3 turns me inside out however... yay for another gearing wall. Dear god to a need a better weapon than my current 650 DPS wand...

But I will say that the all resist, Int, Vit, armor, and crit are big deals.
Crit is there cause of Critical Mass. It will trigger ALOT off of Spectral Blades w/ Deep Cuts, once you get your chances high enough. Enough to chain-use Diamond Skin and Frost Nova (which should be using Deep Freeze for the extra crit on packs).
What you use as a secondary offensive skill is up to you, but I like Meteor myself (Star Pact to manage cost til I get a Helm/Wand with ideal stats and Crit > Arcane Power).
Oh, Life on Hit is a good call too. Meteor returns on it crazy well, and Spectral Blade isn't too shabby either on it.
Here is my build: http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WkYdXO!agf!aZYaac
And my stats of note:
DPS: 14,657.22 (Yeah, it's low, I know... need a weapon upgrade badly, but is a narrow market to aim in)
Intellect: 1814
Vitality: 1070
+Life%: 35%
Armor (w/ Enchantress and Energy Armor): 7745
All Resist (w/ Prismatic Armor): 871 (without is 622)
Life on Hit: 782
Crit Chance: 15.50% (another place I am working to improve when I can)
With this build, I could face-tank any hit Belial threw at me, barring the platform explosion phases, and shrug it off. Sadly, my DPS was not enough to meet the stupid-ass enrage timer (26% was my best). I did kill him with a DPS-focused MH+OH combo instead (barely), but Act 3 for the moment is virtually a death-zerg for me right now.

Now, the cost of pulling THAT off if far larger than Blizzard could consider for any of their games.
Did they fail to update the News slot on the login screen? Yes. It's not the first time they have either, as it has been commented by 1 or 2 CMs in the past. Human error cause... guess what... the people over at Blizzard are HUMAN.
The primary source of the information was updated (see: forums on official community site). That would be like saying you can't believe they are doing road construction right outside your house, when it was in the newspaper that they would be working on your street for the next 1-2 weeks, and you are appalled because you were not directly informed. The information was provided, you just chose not to read the primary source of said information.
