Voted Other. I'm thinking it may be a type of "book system" like Sacred has. You have a random chance to get skill books to drop and would limit the use of gold, because you would want to trade books of another class for books that you can use. This is all just speculation though.

I think we can rule this out almost completely, as said before, what would single players do?

And I suppose Wolfenstein is the grandfather of FPS games.

In the mag. this is there statement on Doom. "Id software's Wolfenstein 3D threw out the first pitch when it came to popularizing the first-person shooter, but Doom knocked it out of the park, giving the genre the kick start it needed to rule the gaming landscape two decades later. Who could forget the first time they chainsawed a demon or pulled the trigger on the BRG9000? More important than the awesome weapons and setting is the inception of Internet-enabled deathmatches; Legend has it that Doom co-creator John Romero coined the term. Opening up John Carmack's brilliant engine to the masses started the first wide-spead modding community, resulting in endless user content distributed over bulletin board systems, and providing training grounds for many of today's top designers."

Doom was the shit.. doesn't mater what came out that was better cause with out Doom it may have never been played today.

Shh, don't mention Baldur's Gate. It only serves to summon Elfen from his cave.

But yes, BG and Planescape are excellent games.
You get special props just for knowing of this game.

In fairness, I only first played those games last year. But I loved them nonetheless even without the added childhood nostalgia to go along with it.

lol, i played Fallout 2 b4 one. My friend made me try it and i loved it... I guess that was 2000ish

I'm only compelled to write my own top 20 most underrated games now. I wish I had the resources though that Game Informer had. I can write the article but I wouldn't have as many screenshots and whatnot.

At least IGN included a flight sim as well as Grim Fandango (easily one of the greatest games of all time). And I was happy to see Fallout closer to where it belongs.

Agree. Fallout was an instant favorite for me... i doubt G.I. even played Fallout, or fallout 2

I really wish theyd have narrowed it a bit. Like... Top 200 PC games, Top 200 nintendo games, top 200 playstation games, etc etc.

I'd love to see a list of what they think is best for just PC.

Ign did a pretty good job of the top 25 pc games here http://pc.ign.com/articles/772/772285p1.html

And heres a list of 7 just form 2009 http://www.gameguru.in/pc/2009/14/top-7-pc-games-of-2009/

Kind of surprises me no Dungeon and Dragon type games are on here. Those games had a huge impact on several others. Lands of Lore wouldn't even have existed if it wasn't for that game. One of the best RPG games of all time, by the way.

Your right.. i just noticed that! D&D had a huge impact on may rpg games today. Wtf

Really. It makes little sense to rank games that are across multiple generations and platforms.

The list is top 200 games of all time.. any system. I may slightly agree with you... but its just something they did for there 200th issue. When it comes down to it there well never be a list that every one can agree on cause its just opinions. I dont know how many ppl was involved with this list, but its there opinion on the games. I do disagree with the low rank of Halo 2 tho.. i feel that H2 really opened it up for MLG..
