Haven't read through every reply but seriously? Torchlight 2 is going to have an impact on the ARPG world for some time. Player development? Awesome. Endless customization possibilities, considering you actually choose your characters stats. Online and Offline play. Much more rewarding loot experience. Sure not everything is a winner, but it is nice to see so many colors drop. Pet system is still badass. 6 players to a game, instead of 4. You can actually browse open games and pick which one you want to play in rather than a stupid matchmaking system (much like D2).
I'm not D3 bashing so don't get me wrong. I only got about 110 hours out of it before I got bored, and I still haven't been able to return. That said, 110 hours for a game these days is pretty damn good. And I still have pretty high hopes that it will meet my expectations someday. I think what I missed most about D2 was the freedom. Waypoints between acts. An open lobby where you can pick whatever game you want. I much prefer that over a matchmaking system. Oh... And no AH.
Just wanted to let everyone know that the Path of Exile open beta stress test is going on this weekend. If you enjoyed D2 more than you did D3, you'll love it. I know you're out there...
I can't explain why really, it's kind of weird. All I remember is that D2 consumed me for a very, very long time. It must've done something right.
D3 on the other hand, got me just over 100 or so hours before I got bored of it. I don't even log on anymore, nor do any of my friends. I check the forums every once in a while for updates or to see if anything has changed that might interest me.
But as far as modern day games go, 60 bucks for just over 100 hours of gameplay is good, so I'm not really complaining. I do wish that it would have kept me hooked for a bit longer, though.
It's hardly a skill based game... Level up (extremely quick) make money, get better gear, done. Or if you want, continue to farm for better gear for hours on end, even after you've beaten inferno.... Not sure why, but I guess that is the replay value.
The real challenge lies in HC, which is the last hope I have for this game.
I played the crap out of it for a while, then got bored with it and stopped. Haven't been able to log more than a couple hours over the last couple weeks. I will continue to play little bits at a time, and I check the forums frequently for upcoming updates. I am hopeful that the game will continue to get better and better. Right now I have a level 60 monk and a level 60 barbarian. I think I might start a wizard.
@ruksak: Which is what's intended, I believe. If you go all social and even start sharing gear with people you meet in games, you won't use the AH. Honestly, I find myself playing less and less, and it breaks my heart. I really wanted to love this game.
Ditto... In the last couple weeks I've logged maybe a few hours. Just can't get into it anymore, I'm not seeing any replay value with it.
Yea I hear the one about Leah opening an inn all the time. Another good one is in Caldeum someone makes a statement about you crawling in and out of the sewers all the time.
Enchantress: Did you know that the grasses in these lands descended from a rare plant that existed back in my own time? It had the most beautiful flowers!
Monk: That hardly seems important....
Enchantress: Oh, um, my apoligies.
Haha what an ass, just wondering what other entertaining NPC dialogue you might have found.
To each his own, really. I've seen nothing but complaining throughout all the forums. There are a lot of people that support these complaints, and a lot that don't. Personally, I am still playing the game, but I definitely do not see the replayability that there was in D2. I've got some ideas as to why, but every issue has been beat to death and I see no need to repeat anything. I also feel like the only reason I am still playing is that it's a Diablo game and I just have to, it just has to get better... Right? I will keep coming back in hopes that the patches make it better, but right now I am just not seeing it. I am already crazy bored by this game.
I'm just confused as to why I was in a game, playing with other players, then it froze up. Seemed like a big lag spike then finally I got disconnected. Got back to the main screen and it gave me the "input limit reached" message.. Da hell?
Straight writing, no rude words, no grammar issues, and you're drunk?
Your complaint are valid if a little old for some. But I still agree. I consider this entire process streamlining and consolization. I rarely use that word for a pure PC game, but sadly, it fits here too well.
I figured there would be similar complaints amongst the community, I haven't had much time with work and what not to browse around the forums.
