I always talked about the fact, how the shutting down of the RMAH was an unwise decision and one I cannot ever grasp. it was a steady income for them (I sold one item for 250€ and received.. phew, i think it was 213€) and the sales of the boxes cannot do that. you sell one license and that's it. only way is releasing addons and maybe one or two content patches every cycle and keeping the brand alive with that.Quote from ActionJunkie

I'm not asking for new content or really anything new that requires a lot of development time, just more dial tweaks (element types, damage output, duration...you know, numbers).
Seasons is basically over from the relevant competitive standpoint as the questing exploit has been fixed and you can't even come remotely close to beating those times w/o them. So there's no excuse for them to be light on class changes just because there isn't a new season coming tomorrow. GRifts aren't taken seriously due to pylons and the insane variance in mob RNG so shaking up the leaderboard there is more welcome than not.

i said it before in the news comments and every time i see the darkened map of the convention center with the little bright circle around the diablo "booth", i feel it is getting too obvious. they are trolling us. they are unterstating big time. something is going to happen.

My significant otter lost her Demon Hunter (91h) and in short order her newly created 70 Wizards this weekend. She has to work the whole week now and I had the idea of levelling two wizards and two demon hunters as a surprise for her.
Until yesterday we levelled in a two-man game through rifting, which would leave me to levelling solo on her account. Not really what I prefer, grouping would be the way I want to go. I have no buddies who would help me in this endeavour, so here's the question:
How, where, how long?
Are there power levelling hardcore communities or something like that? We play EU. Or are there other quick methods for achieving this goal?

with that being said.. since diablo no longer generates income except for game licenses, how long do you think you get support here? and how good will the efforts to create new patches and expansions be of the team, when there are shareholders or financial aspects which cut down the staff for a no longer revenue-generating game? i think the auction house cut for 250$ items had more worth than two month of wow subscription, so there.

but will it chain me to the game for many long nighters or even more than a couple of hours (three, tops.) and reignite my fire? don't think so. nothing new to see here in terms of long time motivation to grind on.

so far, i upgraded my IK irons, invested in a temperance + ice climbers combo and found a new amulet which gave me all in all about 15-20k dps.
i can't seem to find anything which pushes my attack speed and which doesn't cost millions of gold. there doesn't seem to be affordable weapons in the euro auction house which are axes or maces and have 1.300+ dps, let alone decent and affordable ones with 1.200+ dps. most of them are around 1.150 dps, which doesn't seem like a big upgrade for the prices asked.
is the attack speed in the character sheet influenced by the speed of the OH weapon? and what is the minimum dps requirement of the OH weapon? i often came across "dream stats" on one handed weapons, which only had 300-400 dps.
i will look for a few upgrades based on your answers so far, which are much appreciated!
oh, some additions things i'd like to mention: since i'm running with my gf, we run back a few times and loot many items. my wotb can't even be anywhere near 100%. it sure is nice to get the most out of it though, so it should remain as a goal.

only main stat and vit.. i think most people would choose 800 main stat and 0 vit, especially the ranged classes. but i am eager to see what the results are.

the "history" of my char longs from sword n board until i reached a point in act 2 inferno where i simply couldn't go on anymore. i levelled a few chars, killed diablo with my monk and after that i pulled my barbarian back into active duty. i chose him to be my first paragon 100 char and teamed up with my demon hunter gf.
i first specced him into rend/bloodlust with rare 2h maces and switched to a hota/smash / rend/bloodlust spec later on. i piled legendaries and set items upon each other and simply don't have any options left to upgrade my damage without destroying a bonus here or losing vital stats there.
my echoing fury was the only upgrade i found in my stash and the fear proc haunts me ever since. i can't even find a decent weapon (budget of about 18-25m) on the auction house to buy something which increases my damage and still is an axe or mace.
maybe some of my choices talent- or gearwise are bad, i would be happy if you could point it out to me.

edit: oh, i run mp2 for levelling paragon and do the ubers on mp6-8 most of the time. but my playtime is 95% dedicated to paragon levelling.

yeah, i see how it is possible that you confuse a few things.
first: silentmike found a friend in you. someone who has just the same opinions when almost everybody in this thread / forum / maybe even game has another with more proof etc., there was nothing about you or me and a common hobby like finding friends over the internet.
second: obviously those statements were from the point of view of blizzard. or do i have an official blizzard aura?
third: well, i sometimes have an ill temper and zero to none tolerance on a few select topics and a very broad variety of people. but i am neither bad-mannered nor a kid. anymore. physically.

oh, RNG in computer science terms isn't really random. at least you can't compare it to a thrown dice for example. but it is much more random than a guy who just picks a number,
