Alka posted a message on Highest theoretical Ancient Arcane Barb?I had seen several Arcane Barbs in PTR with a little bit above 2500-3100 damage. This range is only achievable by 10% damage and close to perfect min-max and base damage range. Dex number is so big in ancients, that you can not pass/re-roll this one. The fourth afflix is personal. RCR seems most beneficial (and uprated), especially with CA included builds, but if you can pull decent enough amount of RCR without the weapon, you might even consider elite dmg, CDR, vit, w/e. AS seems like a wasted stat on heavy weapons.Posted in: Demon Hunter: The Dreadlands -

Hey guys, you can find your Optimal MP level on this website as well as a quick gear analysis. This site is built to give you information quickly so you can spend less time deliberating over what content makes sense to run or which piece of gear is pulling you down.
Hope you enjoy it.
**UPDATE 10th August***
API Limit Increased, thank you all for you wonderful support, an amazing community here.
******************************
---EDIT---
I wanted to post this in here so it could be seen more easily. We updated the website and have had a wonderful response, a large element of these changes were catalyzed by this forum, I want to thank you all for your help. Our site is developed to help the community, and it appears that the community has helped us even more.
Thank You
--EDIT #2--
Zero(pS) suggested I edit the original post with the following, to make it more accessible, thank you..
Post From Page #3
Sorry I haven't replied in a while, we have been very busy working on adjustments for the site which are largely driven by this forum. We have done adjustments to calculated ehp that are live and should be much more accurate now, so please check those out, and we are currently working on other tweaks. We aren't declaring that the site is perfect, one thing it can never predict is how a player wants to play, we do not wish to adjust how someone wants to play and we encourage it completely, thus we will never satisfy everyone. The goal of our website is to supply you with an mp level that will suit your current gear, as well as give a quick overview of your gear so you don't have to spend hours theorycrafting over which items is holding you back.
The feedback received on this forum has been phenomenal, we really appreciate all the support, there has been a lot of time and effort in the criticism of our site, and we treat this as gold. We cannot improve without critique.
Thank You.
===Update September 4===
DiaBro3.com - Update http://www.DiaBro3.com We have just finished an update we have been working on for a while. It is our goal to provide an increasingly helpful resource for the community. For anyone not aware as to what DiaBro3 does, simply visit our site and throw your battletag in the search. We'll take your character's information and help you figure out which MP level is optimal for your character with their current gear. We'll also rate your gear and let you know which items are holding you back. Our latest iteration contains the following adjustments:
- DiaBro3 Recommended Builds We have added a new section below the armory which will display builds that we encourage players to use. We found that we wanted to provide a platform for new or returning players to jump in and this part seemed key.
- Full Calculations Displayed We were always using a more in-depth analysis of your character, which reaches beyond the armory, however, we wanted to show more of this information to you. It has its very own tab so you can view this information if you want, or keep it simple. We located it below armory, and below the recommended builds.
- Nephalem Stack Chart We are really excited about this one. Not only do we analyze the ideal MP for you to farm, but we also dynamically create a chart which grabs your gear, paragon, mp, etc and shows you a breakdown of your experience, magic find and gold find for each stack of nephalem. This is located inside the Full Calculations section.
Thank you all for such amazing support! -

Lionsword posted a message on Is this Diablo anymore?I want to echo something that @Missa1390 said. "Illusion of Choice."Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
In D2, as a Sorc (always preferred cold) I had to play a Sorc a few times before I developed what I thought was the "best" cold build for me. Unfortunately, that meant re-leveling my character over, which is just horrible, horrible game design. Not being able to re-select skills was awful (I didn't like it, can't you tell?) But for most players, there wasn't a choice. There was an absolute "best" build for a Sorc, and that's what you did. Having the skill trees did not give you choices, it gave you the "illusion" of choice.
I have really enjoyed the last week on my Wizard. I've tried a Fire build, a Cold build (am so happy Frozen Orb is back) and an Arcane build. All of them work great with my gear on Torment II. THAT is something you couldn't have said in D3V. There actually ARE choices now. There are even multiples of all of the different elemental builds. I love the flexibility that learning all of the skills gives me. If I feeling like raining down meteors on my foes, I can do that. If I want to freeze everything to death, I can do that. I'm a Wizard for pete's sake, shouldn't I be able to summon forth whichever elemental destruction I want?
The ability to actually choose what skills I want to use to fit my playstyle is fantastic. I am very glad I don't have to adhere to everyone else's builds just to complete content. -

Zero(pS) posted a message on Am I the only one whos not upset about certain events/quest being nerfed?Nope, I'm ok with that too.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
I understand the concept of powerleveling, and I admire the people who have the will to keep doing those runs over and over again, but if they can slowly "tweak" these to be slightly less effective, I think it's better for everyone.
I'm ok with "whatever runs" being a great source of experience, up to 20-30% more than anywhere else in the game, but when that difference is something like 300-400%, that's simply too much and people start thinking "damn I can't pass that up, I mustfarm xp there".
I most certainly don't think they can keep up with the metagame, as people will always find out a slightly better way of doing it, but I'm happy to see they're being more proactive on what I see as slightly broken areas of the game. -

Zero(pS) posted a message on Is this Diablo anymore? The OP's question is a valid and will not be considered trolling until there's proof of that. To him, the removal or change of certain specific features from Diablo 2 have changed the core of the franchise.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
So until then, stick to discussing the topic and the ideas presented in the original post. And not the person presenting them.
On the actual topic, to me at least I'd say that most of the things you presented as downgrades/problems are instead seen by most players as huge improvements over the D2 system. To me, the core game experience is not only intact, but as fun as it has ever been.
You're free to state your opinion and prefer the old hostile system instead of brawling, but the attitude will never take you anywhere or convince anyone. The entitled attitude of "I know what's best for the franchise and you (or the devs) don't" that so many people show towards games they love. In a franchise this big, things are not as black and white as some people think. -

This is silly... Of course its still i Diablo game.
its a sequel that changes a few things but the core is still there.
Select skills, progress through campaign, farm maps for materials and gear.
Its a dungeon crawler.
Asking if Diablo 3 is a real Diablo game like like asking if Mario 2 and Mario Sunshine are real Mario games... obviously they are. -

Bagstone posted a message on Is this Diablo anymore?Well, the answer is yes.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
And why? Because you're using "Diablo" as a synonym for "my way of playing Diablo 2". The franchise "Diablo" is much more as just the narrow view of Diablo 2 that you provide in your summary.
- Diablo 1 had no skill trees, Diablo 3 has no skill trees.
- Diablo 1 had no PvP. Diablo 3 has "some" PvP (if you like Brawling or not, it's a start) and will probably get PvP eventually, once PvE is perfectly balanced.
- You can make a claim that BoA goes too far, but not the way you do it. Trading was never something that casuals did in D2, most people never traded publicly in D2 (we covered that discussion a million times). And it is just not true that if player A trades, it doesn't affect player B; the opposite is true, as the auction house was the reason why drop rates were so insanely low, eventually forcing everyone into using it. Trading was a major part of the game for some people in D2; in D3V, trading (i.e., using the AH) was more important to success than actually playing the game. With eradicating that ill-designed development, D3 went back to the franchise's core purpose (killing monsters).
- How terribly bad D3 would be if it didn't have "online only" is something you can see by looking at D3 for consoles. Btw, it's interesting that oftentimes the more competitive players (those who like trading and PvP) bring this online-only concern up: if the game had an offline mode, any competition would be dead by default (again, look at console). I elaborated on the importance of online-only for D3 here.
TL;DR: Reaper of Souls is more a Diablo game than Diablo 2 ever was.
Also dig up shaggy's posts in the past few weeks, he made some good points, too (maybe he'll summarize it again for you), linking to an interview of the people who actually invented the franchise.
What you envision as "the real Diablo" is neither what Blizzard has in mind, nor the inventors of the game, and probably not what the majority of players would agree with. -

Nacho_ijp posted a message on Is this Diablo anymore?Did you ever played D1? you could get every spell no matter what, no skill tree whatsoever. D2 wasn't Diablo for that matter... D3 is a different game in a series, and it's true to the essence of the series while changing a lot of things.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
So yeah, D3 is still Diablo and it has a lot of good and bad things as any other game you'll ever play - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

You are absolutely correct, about the fact that this is not a pay to play game. The real money auction house cannot be compared to a model like World of Warcraft. On the other hand I think you are missing the point completely. We are not bitching for no good reason. The problem is that while they are not obligated to fix things they have been saying they are fixing things for over a year. They keep doing little tidbits of information that is not even relative or relevant to what they have been saying they are going to do.
Yes they have in not so many words said that they have a lot of work to do in fixing the game to where they want to be, and while they have fixed it a lot of things and maybe game more playable there are still some fundamental problems that have not been addressed. With me correct myself a limit on that, they have recognized the problems said they are working on it which is good but they have also said that they communicate better with us on what is actually going on and what they got planned even if it isn't something that will actually make it to a release candidate for the game.
That is what a lot of us are angry about not the fact that they are being slowly things but it's the lack of communication and the fact they say they want to have more communication but basically have been just saying here's an update but we have nothing to say.
Not to mention things like where the latest blue posts list say forget about the next patch that we would expect to help explains it more so he leads to changes they are making that will lead into either expansion or a 1.1 patch.
Of course you have to look at the site of this people are going to complain for the sheer sake of complaining. But the fact of the matter still remains that they have been promising to be more communicative with us and basically just keep saying that without being communicative.
Actually taking the time out of some of the community managers day to address these concerns and to actually give us real information that is going on behind the scenes is what a lot of us are actually looking for. Currently in game there is a lot of things that I could be doing and have been doing but at the same time it is not giving me the feeling of what Diablo should be.
Another thing that people are bitching about is the consul release. While more likely than not I will be given a copy for my PlayStation 4 when it does come out that is still long time away and they have assured us that the consul and the PC version have separate development teams. While of course I'm inclined to believe them I don't think that is the whole truth. Since the release of the last patch not including the bug fix where they made Tristram a safe zone, virtually nothing in the news blog posts tweets or other forms of media has been about anything other than the console's and all of the great changes they have made to the game that will be included in. Some of those features we have been wanting in the PC version for a long time but we're still going to have to wait for it.
That is why a lot of people are bitching. I to will give blizzard some credit where it is due but they lose face when they promised something as simple as communication and do not deliver on those promises.
Of course this is probably most likely the situation. I've been speculating on this for a while now. I suppose being late is better than none at all but the same time you can't justify using expansion to fix what needs to be fixed. A good analogy to this would be to buy a brand-new car this year and they are some serious problems with it so the company releases a new version of the car that addresses all those problems but you have to buy a new car to actually have those problems fixed.
I am excited for expansion not for the fact that they will hopefully have the majority of problems fixed but rather that there will be more content for us to play with. God forbid they put something for endgame people more than just paragon levels.
I'm sure they will show us to when they have something to show the problem is it that we would like an update on what is actually going on in what is possibly being planned for the proposed changes. Blizzard is notorious for not releasing any information until right before his right to go live. That is the real problem, rather I should say that is one of the problems with the company itself. A lot of people do not care what exactly they report on but the fact that they need to report on being what is going on. Of course I do not speak for everybody but I'm sure there is more than a fair share people who feel the same way.
A very simple and easy example of this would be to say that they are working on something and here are some of the ideas we are kicking around. Even if these ideas are kicking around don't actually make it into the game it would be good for community interaction for them to actually share some of their ideas. I'm not asking for every little tidbit but they still need to give the community something if they expect us to continue playing their game and possibly by an expansion.
It is actually four months not seven. And why you might not care about their "stupid blogs", you might want to actually consider helping contribute questions when they do open up for people to ask. Also I think you're missing the fact that most people are looking for more than just two weeks of "fun". The idea of the next patch is supposed to provide content fixes will make the game more enjoyable and more playable than just a small burst of entertainment. If you truly feel that it will only be two weeks of fun I highly recommend you check out other alternatives for your entertainment needs.
