posted a message on Blizzard Working Hard on 'Loot 2.0', Exclusive Merch at SD Comic Con, Blue Posts, Code of Conduct Clarifications
    @Loot 2.0 stuff:

    I'm really confused here.

To start off they say we should forget about an update/content patch that would be 1.0.9?
It is important to emphasize though, that patch 1.0.8 is not the last and final update to the game! In fact we are working hard on new and improved content for Diablo III, including loot 2.0...
So does this mean they are basically telling us that the expansion will be out before another update to D3 in it's current state? Or is it because they are working on the console version. Before anyone get's the flame on about "well they have separate dev teams", yeah yeah, heard it before but it's starting to become clear to me that while they have separate teams, I have the sneaky suspicion that they trade people from one team to another as needed to get the console version out. I am just speculating? Absolutely.

    Next:
...and I can assure you that you guys will get more detailed information about these things we are working on as development continues.

I know we have been saying this a lot lately, but...
Yeah, right as soon as you see the "but" you know the rest is almost moot. Yes they have been saying for ages now that they want to really communicate more with the community and what not, "but" they have not been and then to just admit outright they are sucking, and hard, at this is almost like getting slapped by rick james. -_-

...the changes we are working on will greatly impact many areas of the game, including core gameplay elements...
I would imagine that an expansion would take up the majority of the time, but with the release of the console version so close I really don't think there is that much work going into the now missing 1.0.9 update. Yeah I'm a bit pissed off about it.
    .
ETA of the blog then? :)

That will not be possible I think because I am not yet entirely sure that we will be ready to share detailed information on all the things that is being worked on at the same time.
Your joking right? You said you want to share and talk to the community, but when someone asks outright about getting more information, in the form of a blog posting, about anything, you say nope and GTFO of my office (at least thats the way it seems to me). You go on to say that "the developers would like to do more Q&A sessions", right but... where are they? When was the last one.. I have to check... April 8th. Yeah that was just shy of three months ago. I'm very confused why they would say they want to do it but have not done one in such a long time. Of course the argument could be made that they are working on the next patch but they just say they are not.

Speaking of patches. The last patch was on May 7th for patch 1.0.8, which was two months ago. I'm getting the feeling all the time they have right now is being spent on getting for blizzcon, the console release and something else they of course have not told us about.

Do I want the changes now? Of course I do like everyone else, but I realize that it is a massive undertaking. However, at the same time everyone in the community would like to know at least what the heck is going on rather than dangling a plastic carrot hoping we will power the treadmill like some classic cartoon.

posted a message on New barb. Paragon leveling, is WW still good?

Don't know how I missed it but I would alter your build slightly to get rid of overpower and replace it with HoTA smash rune. It works really well to take elite packs down really quick and then switch back to the WW spin for trash packs

The loss of the crit from OP is not that big of hit?

After much debating I've decided to go WW. It's just more movement that I'm used to with TR/Bell monk.

Here is my D3Up page for him: http://d3up.com/b/750444

Ok so now that I'm getting the hang of WW again (found out I was not moving enough in a circle to drop tornados) what should I be looking to make it a bit easier in MP10? Most packs I don't got a problem, but some like with pluged/molten + arcane are just destroying me.

Not being a dick but why do you want to play mp10 with your dps? What you need to do to survive mp10 is honestly up your damage considerably so lifesteal becomes a really efficient healing machine. In your position I would stick to lower monster power levels like mp5-7..here is my d3up http://d3up.com/b/315271 and honestly I prefer to farm mp8 because I find mp10 to be too slow even at over 300k dps

All good, no dickery received ;p

Things feel more epic at MP10 but more so for keys have 100% drop chance. Although you're prolly right about doing a bit lower MP and just slap up some XP stuff.

Looked at your profile, and I'm not sure why your not doing mp10. Your DPS and EHP is like way higher than mine and the bonus xp and magic/gold find would be awesome. GZ on paragon 80 btw ;p only 20 more to go ;p

You are also using HotA build but almost the same stats I use, so I'm curious how much XP/hour you're getting?

I also recomend playing in a group of friends with same goal as you.

with 4 people in a map you get your exp multiplied by 1.3 which means than in mp10 i have over 1200% bonus exp gain

don't forget to mention that running in a full group on mp10 you need to have very good EHP or you will get rick rolled.

This is pretty much what I do on my monk with no ruby in helm, hell fire ring, or leoric's and I'm getting around 90+M/hour @para70

WW still beats any other build in leveling speed, but there are many variants of it, and other builds are still very solid. I guess it depends on your playstyle in the end and since gearing is extremely similar for all barb builds, with few exceptions like specific SoJ and weapons, I'd suggest trying out different builds yourself and picking the one that fits you.

If you could describe your expectations or desires from a barb, you'd get a more specific advice :P

Good point, I didn't really say what I'm looking for play style wise.

I know right off the bat I'm not liking the flow of WT builds (tried a few already), and going to settle on either WW or HotA builds.

I like the huge numbers for HotA build, and for some reason it seems more tanking to me because of the stunning maybe.

On the other hand I'm still liking the WW because of all the action. although WW didn't seem as survivable as HotA, but I could have really low/bad gear. I'm looking at just replacing everything anyway as it was a 10m budget build about five months back.

If you have the gear, WW is more effective, but i believe you need 100k dps with a cold SoJ. Not hard to achieve.

Depending on price of SOJ for that, I might give it a shot and see how it feels to me. If not I can just always turn around and resell it ;p

This is what I used. You can replace WC with other skill. Leap, Charge are good candidates.

I don't find sprint much use at higher MP.

You can also replace brawler with something of your choice

This was working out quite well even with out upgrading a single item.

Finally allowed to take 'some' pictures with my phone. Can't take anything that is like game demos and tech demos. Some places even have security people who like block your viewing angle to make sure.

While they are being really hard on people taking photos inside (which I will hopefully get to soon here), they did some of the typical things they normally do. Here is a picture of the side of one of the buildings they skinned. It's very large and quite impressive.

I find rend/hota-thunderstrike easier than ww. Easier to keep up the fury. Best of all is surrounding monster stun for 3 seconds for every kill. Needless to say, if you get them together, they will not able to move while you smashing them.

cool! so just check out the forum guide for that one?

    Hello guys and gals,

I'm getting close to paragon 100 with my monk and I've been mulling over what to do next. I've been tossing around the idea of a CM wizard but the melee lure of a barb tips the scales. With that in mind, I'm looking for what is good for paragon leveling and farming (mid to upper MP's).

A while back it was the WW build but I've been seeing some things on Weapon Throw and HotA builds. Is WW barbs still decent?

If I go for WW barb is it pretty much the same as it was before where I want as much CC then CD then IAS ?

    What about the other builds?

More or less I'm looking at what kind and how much of particular stats I want to aim for. I got quite a large budget after some really good sells this last week and while I could use my entire stash of gold to upgrade just one item on my monk I want to branch out and have some fun.

~<3's thanks guys and gals ~_^
