posted a message on How does magic exist...
As I've said before, I have become absolutely intrigued with the Diablo books, mini-series etc and been reading all of them. After finishing the Sin Wars, and waiting to start The Order (P.S. To anyone who's read The Order, if I read it before I finish D3, am I looking at any spoilers? I would rather the book not spoil the game)

But as I was playing D3 last night I began to wonder - How do magicians live....

Inarius and Lillith made the Sanctuary with everyone else. Then -they- populated it with Nephellem (I forgot spelling.) They had magic powers, until the whole war where they made a pact and reset time, and locked away their powers. So everyone had their powers locked (Which I imagine once Diablo showed up in D1 it would start "unlocking" powers maybe?) But the mage in D1 had legit magic. Not scrolls, but spells he actually knew. Same with most of the people in D2, and the people in D3.

D3 makes sense because now the entire concept of Sanctuary is jacked. I know Cain's people can read runes, and cast spells because of who they are, but why can these "Mages" and people in the guild do it? It's truly confusing me... Does anyone have the ability to do it, or maybe are the powers just slightly awakened on some people?

Oh, haha. That's my fault - sorry.

http://www.diablowiki.net/Barbarian I'm at work and B.Net is loading extremely slow so I can't find the blue post.

Actually, I think the blue post is on the wiki

EDIT: on a side note, I had to do some work in Excel for awhile and when I re-alt tabbed "The Order"s websites built-in PDF thing isn't working anymore. :( I was really into it.

Ahhh, I see. So the eldest son is the warrior, and the youngest is Diablo. Very nice - I didn't know the king is the Skeleton King in D3 but I guess it mades sense.

@Sexton, I also wanna know what became of the classes from D2. The Barbarian in D3 is actually the same barbarian from D2 according to a B.Net post I read. The rest - I dunno. I think the Soreceress is Isendra as you said. But being 20 years, some of 'em could just plain ol' be dead by this point.

Hoping this is right section. I love Diablo story - always have. With D3 coming out tomorrow there is an arsenal of stuff coming out. One of the most famous being "The Order" book, with 8 free chapters (7?) for view. However, it's coming out on the DAY of D3. Guess I'll read it during work's slow points.

My question is, in the book it refers to the King's Son from D1 (The kid who wanders into the Cathedral to become Diablo) when Cain is talking about him, but then ALSO refers to him being the Dark Wanderer. Is this just a typo they missed on fact check? Some of the stuff still confuses me but I'm 99% sure the Warrior class of D1 killed the prince, and took the stone thinking he could contain Diablo thus making him the Dark Wanderer. The mage became corrupt with the death of Diablo, and became the mage-dude. And the rogue became corrupt and becomes the Evil hunter you fight early on in D2. Is that right?

p.S. If anyone has any other free stories I'd love a link.
