Tiers are stupid, if implemented they would immediately invalidate every other legendary in the game, regardless of how rare they are. Blizzard is putting a metric crapton of effort this expansion to do exactly the opposite, to bring as many legendaries as possible to rough the same level of effectiveness to combat that same effect of "These are BiS for everybody". One of the prevailing controversies currently around loot is the worry that the Hellfire Amulet will be one of these "higher tiered" items that will be required for any serious player to stay competitive.

Raids won't happen because there aren't specific loot tables for mobs. Besides, greater rifts are essentially raids as it is. You kill a bunch of trash then kill a highly rewarding boss at the end. Nearly the entire game would have to be reworked to fit more people in a game for 6-8 and that's just not feasible for a non-sub based franchise. They'd have to rebalance skills, buffs, and mobs. People with lower end computers would suffer due to the higher graphical and computational strain of having more spells and more calculations going at once. Not to mention completely rework the code and UI. It's just not viable considering the game is working just fine in the 4 person model.

Well ok grinding lvl 99 wasn't fun but atleast it was SOMETHING.

Again, I ask: what is the difference between grinding experience and gear? Tell me what is so god damn appealing about that. One grind for another.

PS: after hitting approximately level 85 your levels were nearly irrelevant. You could equip all of the best possible gear in the game, and it was probably trivialized in difficulty well before that if you had a pulse. Your level cap - it means nothing.

Tangible, visible advancement? You grind for 10 hours at max level and get no gear. 10 hours that you are now painfully aware were absolutely 100% a waste of time. Grind experience for 10 hours and the bar is closer to the end. Something you can see and quantify. I'm one of the people that likes that tangible advancement....it's why i've always preferred RPG's over other gaming styles. That was a big boost to D2's lifecycle and the lack of it in D3 is just one more reason to play being removed because they wanted to tell me what i should think is fun.

peasofme - the only info you have to support your post is anecdotal at best. As I stated above, the posts you see on fansites are an insignificant percentage of the total buyers. This tiny group are "upset" and "quitting in droves". Before you start talking about the majority of owners of the game, you should have some hard data to back it up.

    Look at the graph.

With the amount of expectation I think we are allowed to complain.

    lol

So, wait, because you made up something in your MIND instead of looking at the utter droves of released information/footage/etc before the game was launched you now have the right to complain that the game does not match what you imagined?

    Really?

    Yes

I guess i'm one of those minority dissenters. I didn't think inferno was too hard....I just don't enjoy the game, at all. I bought it, played it for 3 weeks, and stopped. This is coming from a Diablo player since Godly Plate Mail of the Whale.

I'm not bitching, I'm not crying, I'm just disappointed is all. A LOT of people feel the same way and because of the nature of the beast, gaming forums are the only way to show their displeasure. Most of them aren't very good at posing their displeasure in a concise and thoughtful manner, so you get a lot of people with emotional comments that do nothing but inflame people to argue with them. Since I stopped playing, I've actually gotten more enjoyment out of reading these and the official forums than I had from playing the actual game. Sad.

Also, don't even get me started about the people complaining that people are complaining. *glances at OP*

P.S. "you trolls don't even know what your TALKING about." -that made me lol for a variety of reasons.

Dont even go comparing D3 to D2 because D3 has absolutely nothing on D2. D2 is a classic game that can be placed within top 10 of the best pc games of all time while D3 is a subpar game influenced heavily by one of the worst games in the history of mankind - WOW.

The whole D3 project is built around RMAH to squeeze out as much profit from it as possible. If you have at least a heap of knowledge in marketing strategies you will find sense in my statements. If not, well.. keep on playing your beloved game.

Mate. You're exactly the kind of player we're talking about in this thread.

The kind capable of critical thinking?

Did anyone notice that their hit points went up by approximately 5%? I took note of this after the hot fix and my barb had 5K more HP than he did yesterday. My survivability went up a bit as well. Just a bit.

    Your barb had 100,000 hp?
