posted a message on Get rid of seasons

This guy is either a troll, or he's the equivalent of a die-hard flip phone user complaining about people getting new smart phones every few years and wondering why nobody makes new products for his phone anymore. Get with the times man. Seasons have firmly become the future of D3.

posted a message on Death's breath goblin maybe?

Honestly, I'd prefer them completely removing Sage's set and re-balancing death breath usage/drop before adding band-aids to a wound that won't stop bleeding. One of the big reasons they removed magic find was because they didn't like people having to wear sub-optimal gear in order to achieve optimal play. It's the same problem again with Sage's.

Botting in WoW has more effect on Diablo than botting in Diablo. In that game it actually affects other players and blizzard resources are used to deter it, resources that could go elsewhere in the company for production and development.

The endgame is find your set, find the random legendaries that supplement it, then roll face on keyboard while you search for the exact same items you already have but with higher / better rolls.
Exactly. I just found all of that on my Crusader and I've essentially lost all interest in playing JUST to find all the items again.

The problem is, the flavor content unlocked by achievements is by and large ignored by the player base. Who really cares what your banner looks like? That's why sponkey21 doesn't see any additional content, because he doesn't consider the banner stuff to be content.

"this game has actually molded people into saying new more powerful items could be a bad thing.............and then they state why...and due to the design of the game sadly they are in a way correct"

No, tiers of more powerful items are a bad thing. It limits the diversity that blizzard is shooting for by making that tier the only thing worthwhile to have. What they're doing currently seems to be a more blended approach. They're doing a tuning pass on current legendaries to bring them all closer in line, then adding the handful of season-only legendaries that are a little bit better. You can interpret that as a tier if you'd like, but it's not in terms of more stats, just more interesting unique affixes...gamechangers if you will. Then at the end of the season they might do another tuning pass to bring everything back together and add a new handful of slightly better legendaries to the new season. There's always something better, but the rest doesn't necessarily get left behind.

Tiers are stupid, if implemented they would immediately invalidate every other legendary in the game, regardless of how rare they are. Blizzard is putting a metric crapton of effort this expansion to do exactly the opposite, to bring as many legendaries as possible to rough the same level of effectiveness to combat that same effect of "These are BiS for everybody". One of the prevailing controversies currently around loot is the worry that the Hellfire Amulet will be one of these "higher tiered" items that will be required for any serious player to stay competitive.

Raids won't happen because there aren't specific loot tables for mobs. Besides, greater rifts are essentially raids as it is. You kill a bunch of trash then kill a highly rewarding boss at the end. Nearly the entire game would have to be reworked to fit more people in a game for 6-8 and that's just not feasible for a non-sub based franchise. They'd have to rebalance skills, buffs, and mobs. People with lower end computers would suffer due to the higher graphical and computational strain of having more spells and more calculations going at once. Not to mention completely rework the code and UI. It's just not viable considering the game is working just fine in the 4 person model.

Has anyone tried the rimeheart with frostburns/azurewrath combo to fly through greater rifts? Keep sun keeper on hand for elite packs/ guardian. It's not a damage boost but might be a sizable speed boost.

EDIT: just read bagstones post. Someone try this out!
You can't keep anything "on hand" for greater rifts because they won't let you change gear. You can't even open your inventory inside a greater rift.

why can't people understand that the AH is simply a very convenient way of trading? in D2, when you got a good item you wouldn't use, you trade it by joining trading games and lost a couple of days tying to trade it, sometimes, less, sometimes more, the AH makes that process for you, but hey, don't wanna use it? go to trade channels, and TRADE. As simple as that.

Because... its not?, this argument is getting extremely old.

You may ask why, and its simple, look:

I played D3 for 200 hours, more or less, I got 4 characters 50+ and a WD who is paragon 8. You know how much costs a 1100-1200 dps with +int weapon in the AH?, 10-30k, you know when was the last time I saw a weapon with those stats dropped in the floor?, never, you know how much time it takes me to get 10-30k in Act 1 inferno?, 20 mins if I'm lazy.

Like you see, there is no comparison between effort -> result. In D2, you needed to trade something useful for something useful, there was no: "ok, Ill farm gold for a day and I will buy a ZOD rune, no problem". Nope, you had to have something of a similar value.

Don't get me wrong, I see the potential of trading, its useful when you don't want to level up other characters or when you just want to trade it for something your current player needs, I get it, and I'm not against that.

    The AH/RMAH.. is completely different.

so basically auction house doesn't ruin the game, and the real fix your suggesting is make it harder to farm gold.

    Wooooooooooooosh

posted a message on You tell me not to swap - I spend 250mil on MF gear - you remove MF...i want to cry.
Wait....so let me get this straight OP....

You're furious that blizzard changed the mf system because they didn't like the mechanics and you're pissed that they didn't double your potential mf cap?

The point of the change was to, as you progress through paragon, reduce the desire to gear swap. Which was explicitly stated as their intent....but you're mad that they didn't implement a system that not only continues to promote gear swap...but ALSO adds the burden of NEEDING to max paragon to keep up with the top end MF?

By 100 Paragon, you've opened up 13 affixes and a gem slot to stats that make you kill faster while still maintaining roughly the absolute max MF you could currently have.....and you're UNHAPPY with this change?!

My palm just went through my face and hurt my brain.

Why don't you just pretend the paragon system isn't there? You can keep swapping your precious gear like now, but somehow you'll get more gold and slightly more magic find. Nothing else will change but your perception of the value of your gear. It still does the exact same it did before, now you just all of sudden believe your pixels are worth less because of this.

posted a message on MF then and now, why D3 bores.
    Quote from shaggy

And, I'll be honest, I think that's one of the things about D2 that people didn't realize they liked. They learned the items. They planned their character out meticulously. They had day-to-day goals almost. In D3, because of the total dominance of rares we do not have anything close to that. We are *always* hunting for totally random stuff. We have the goal of upgrading our gear, but it's a completely nebulous and ambiguous idea at this point in time.

This has ALWAYS been my #1 problem with Diablo 3. Ask yourself what you're hunting for? This mythical thing known as "an upgrade".

Also, the third, fourth, and 5th tier crap armor gauntlets all had use in end-game....NOW, anything below lvl 63 is crap and 85% of the lvl 63 items are crap too. The range of "useful" on items is so ridiculously compressed.
