People posting in this thread acting as if pet abilities are needed are retarded. But go ahead, make your pet class and have fun, but you make sure to come back to this thread in a month and go, "Oh yea, I was retarded", when everyone realizes what should be immediately obvious to someone playing around with the build tool currently.

    • Magic Find helps increase the likelihood of Magic, Rare, Set and Legendary items dropping.
Might want to reword that as it can be a bit misleading. Magic Find doesn't increase the chance of a Magic/Rare/Set/Legendary item dropping, rather it increases the stats of any items that do drop. Only the Barbarian can actually affect the drop rate of enemies.

    What ? ?

Of course you could use a rare, what kind of pointless statement is that. This is a thread about Legendary (uniques) weapons, no one is talking about rares.

And to the guy above me....no I didn't miss the part on Rare items smart guy. Rare items "might" aka "have the possibility" to be better then a legendary due to the extra randomly generated affixes.

However, again, the topic has nothing to do with randomly generated rares. it has to do with Uniques. And the fact that, in a system where Ability Damage scales off of weapon damage, there needs to be a larger selection of level 60 weapons for the player to try to find.

Rares will never match the item finding excitement of Legendary items. If done correctly with a good system, since legendary items are named items you know about and can hope to get.

summation - More level 60 unique items, unique items are more fun to find, make them better, stop talking about rares.

D2 had a lot more uniques. And because D2 worked differently, half of the seemingly lower level uniques were still useful at "max" level. That's not the case in D3. 1-2 60 legendaries is a joke and this better not be all of them.

Alright. So. A lot of people seem to have this idea. That's because when they think of Diablo II, they think of it as it is right now. Not 12 years ago when it was first released.

When Diablo II was first released it had 124 Uniques. That's it. D3 is releasing with twice that amount.

Can we please stop whining and complaining and just be thankful we have a game to play?

I'm not going to be lazy and just be "thankful we have a game to play". If I just wanted any game to play, I'd play any of the new wannabe diablo games that all suck like Torchlight. I expect more from Diablo.

The problem arises from the way they've done ability scaling off of weapon damage. In D2, there were many different viable options of weapons to use, some helped your defense, some + to skills, some with interesting special attributes. Most of them didn't impact damage a whole lot, so you had freedom and enjoyment of collecting different equipment.

Now, with ability damage scaling off of weapon damage, the only weapon you are going to want is the high level one 9 times outta 10. With there only being a couple level 60 weapons, that is what every single player is going to be using/trying to get. This is the WoW model of gear, and it is horrible D3 has fallen into this system. It doesn't matter that the class has maybe 15 unique weapons, if 14 of them are obsolete at max level.
