Well, since I seriously doubt I will be popular, and I don't think my battletag name is likely to be common... Seems I am safe.

I still want to use unique and decent names for my characters, though... it's sort of an obsession with me.

The addition of achievements really added a lot to the excitement about the game for me. Let's admit it, a lot of what makes Diablo fun is bragging rights... whether it be your level, gear, etc. So this is just one more thing to strive for and show your buddies. Fun, too!

I barely played the beta despite having access from the beginning. It was just so short, and there was no real point in farming items, you could only level so far, etc. I tried it out, liked it a lot, then forgot about it since it seemed the game was still never going to be released. My excitement came back upon finally seeing a release date that seemed it would stick, reading up on everything to prepare myself, and starting to hang out here. It feels real now instead of just some far-off dream game, hehe.

Yep. So character names are just for fun really and are not unique to just one person on the server. Which.... is disappointing to me in some ways, but in others it's good... since one will not have to battle to get a good name, and won't be let down when one they like is already in use. Hmm, even Battletags are not one person only, though? That is sort of crappy, imo... I mean, I get that we have a number after it to ID us (not that it seems anyone will see it to be able to differentiate?), but I still don't want to risk being confused with another JenesisX who might be an asshat. Aah well, no biggie.

No way do I want things soulbound, or ANYthing like WoW.

However, I do hope there won't be ladder resets, as I dislike having to leave behind everything I've worked for over and over to play where the current action is. Ya know? ::shrug:: Wouldn't ruin it for me, just not something I desire.

I am gonna knock myself unconscious with sleep aids around this time tomorrow, and wake up at 3 am EST Tuesday... lol.

Definitely been waiting for well over 5 years now... I played D2 since it came out. I was really excited last year, but then with all the delays I more or less tried to forget about it. It worked... mostly. Then a bunch of lousy real life stuff kept me busy til a couple months ago, and.... lo and behold, now it's almost here! I think I am still in shock and waiting for the last minute delay to be announced. lol

See, I keep hearing different things. Last I read, you were mostly IDed by battletag, but your emotes in the chat window used your character's given name. I still don't like this, but whatever. So... does that mean we can all use whatever actual character names we want regardless of how many others are also using it? Just wondering if I need to assure I create characters with the names I want right away, or if it won't matter since duplicates are allowed.

So it's not like D2, then, where once someone used a name it was taken on that server and no one else could?

Yeah... I want to get to enjoy the game thoroughly, especially when it first comes out. Good to know I won't be penalized as far as finding gear for doing so. I waited forever for this game, I'm not about to spend my time chasing after a bunch of mute rushers and missing everything, ya know?

I happen to be out of work on medical leave. Not quite well enough to go back to work yet, but I can definitely play Diablo3 So I guess I picked a good time to get ill, lol.

I like having the battletags right in our profiles, very nice. :::points to the left to mine::: The Americas server, will be starting with a barb as always!

I'm actually glad about that. I prefer to play solo much of the time due to the way so many people rush and plow through content. I'm glad to see I will be able to farm for items effectively on my own. Even better due to the way MF works in group, even.
