Damn, you are a bunch of worthless melee players then ,I 've got several monk / barbarian friends, who are facerolling act 2 , don't even wanna mention act 1 cause that's really too easy, once you get 1 or 2 good items. As a ranged ,there are more hard combinations of elites than when you are melee, if you disagree ,you're just a clueless random guy. As a melee, you can more easily get the invulnerable minion elite packs , which is not as easy for ranged ,since you need to kite a horde of minions ,while trying to also get the boss ,which is quite easier for a melee class, who can just run in middle of them ,use some defensive cooldowns , smash the boss ,get away back, run in again ,and that's it. Also, mortars are harder for melee ? hahhahaahh ,now that's a fucking joke, as a melee ,if you get hit by a single mortar strike, then you really need to stop playing the game. Seriously, let's say you're a barbarian ,and you get a mortar elite packs ,how ,seriously ,how can you get hit by mortar ?? How bad do you play, that's unbelieveable....

There's also a missile dampening affix ,which is another fuck up for ranged.

Overall , inferno act 2 + is a lot harder for ranged than for melee, if blizzard thinks otherwise ,they're just completely retarded ,and they already showed that they actually are. We struggle against mortar , fast melee packs , invulerable minion, vortex ( also 1 shots me ) , misille dampening (if it also has some other hard affixes ,if it's only mis.dam. it's easy) , I mean.. Barbs and monks take 30 % less damage ,barb has a variety of good defensive CDs and a monk can just dodge almost everything ,use invulnerability, healing and other stuff , if you can't progress past act 2 as a melee ,then you're shit and please, stop whining and playing'

I'm a fucking wizard and I'm in act 3 inferno now ,even against all these impossible elite pack combinations taking 30 % more damage than you guys... lol. And I'm not using the tactic, glass cannon ,go outside the screen area so mortar doesn't hit you ,and die 15 times to kill an elite pack , those kinds of players are also pretty retarded. Thanks to them ,repair costs now will be 100k+ ,which is really great. Another intelligent thing from the blizzard.

    Just awesome ....

Sounds like to me you are what you are calling those barbs and monks except you are ranged.

As melee if you have good gear then you can roll through most acts(or so I've read.) I haven't been to act 2 yet just farmed the end of hell for a few great upgrades and now I'm facerolling through act 1.

As ranged you shouldn't ever get hit. Just stack damage and boom watch them drop. If you want more survivability then welcome to melees world where you have to stack survive stats along with damage.

Sounds like to me you don't play ranged :P

Never getting hit sounds like all fun and games until you actually try to never get hit. Have fun with phasebeasts with firechains/vortex or something like that and let me know how it goes. Any mob with teleport will hit you sooner or later unless you cheese it and kite across 10 maps at max screen range and even then. Some projectiles are very difficult to dodge with lag and all the shit that can happen on screen at once. And watching mobs drop is fun with regular trash mobs but I've met some elites with 2-3M HP, those don't just"drop" even with 40-50k DPS... (And please don't mention ppl like Athene who bought who knows how many millions worth of gear from donations, and can drop a 3M hp mob in 3 sec, we all know that doesn't count as it doesn't represent like 99.9% of ppl in Inferno right now).

I think the correct thing to say is that as ranged you should not get hit MUCH. The problem is that right now past act 1, getting hit 2 times is too much most of the time. You get to a point where you have to dodge almost everything perfectly and a lot of stupid stuff means instant death.

I think people got the idea that ranged is easier because they progressed further/faster in Inferno by rez zerging the harder stuff or just bypassing it with teleport/SS or w/e. As ranged you can rez zerg a difficult pack and kill them eventually. Kiting also allows to clear areas even if you are severely undergeared for the zone. As melee if you cannot take the hits you can't kill those same packs. Does this make ranged easier? Not really, it's just bad mechanics from the game that are exploitable by ranged more than melee, Some AIs are plain retarded when you hit them from max range, they stand in place and don't even move. Rez zerging is easily fixed, a mob should heal instantly if you die or maybe after 1 death.

I agree than melee need to farm a lot more gear to start progressing Inferno while range can start pushing with much crappier gear. The drawback is that you will most likely die a crapton of times doing that and come next patch that will be really costly.

We'll see how it feels once they tweak the damage in Inferno. I'll gladly go farm some resist if it means I can take a few more hits. Right now it feels useless on ranged and trying a pack untill you manage to dodge almost everything perfectly is very boring/frustrating at times. Not mentionning some retarded combos that require a new game without even trying (like invulnerable/vortex/teleport/fast or some crap like that).

Theres like billions (yes billions) of possible builds for each class when you take into account 6 hotkeys for 25ish skills with 5 runes each and 3 slots for 15ish passives. Even more if you take followers builds into account.

Granted a LOT of those will be completely unviable especially in Inferno but even if like 0.0001% of those builds are viable thats still a truck ton of different builds that can work. If 4-5 builds become the "norm" I say it's because a lot of people did not try to innovate but instead copied a build from someone else or a site/guide.

Man, some of these posts... I almost feel sorry for the Blizzard people having to deal with that shit.
That's the reason I stay the fuck out of the official forums, they're so overrun by WoW'ified entitled retards who wants everything spoonfed to them.
I'm so glad this site exists, the quality of the posts here are miles higher than anything on the official forum.

I totally agree with you. Massive props to blizz people who have to deal with these whiners on a daily basis. Game gonna be too easy! Game is impossible! Fuck blizz!! It's always like that on their forums. I wouldn't have the patience for it, not even close.

I think they're looking at this the right way, start by making sure all classes are on equal ground then start looking at content. They said Inferno would take weeks/months to be farmable, If people are still stuck in act2 after a few weeks/months (and they have good gear from all the farming) then maybe it needs to be looked over.

And i totally agree that a skill should not be REQUIRED to clear content. If something is absolutely mandatory on your skill bar to do any kind of progress then it's most likely broken. Some skills might be common sense or very good to use and make your life easier but if it's mandatory I think it needs to be looked at.

I hope they don't start nerfing the content to oblivion because people are bitching that their class is not viable in late game. They need to fix the class not the content.

Maybe ppl are not supposed to be rolling through inferno after 1 WEEK!! Most "clears" I've seen were using gimmicks/cheese and bypassing all the actual hard stuff (elite/champion packs) in later acts. If anyone has a link to a stream of someone doing a full clear not using cheap mechanics I'd like to see it please.

I hope blizz will be smart enough to address these issues the right way and balance the classes accordingly. They do not need to nerf the content if anything make it harder! (a good example would be to remove the rezzing fest that occurs when groups are doing bosses on Inferno). Theres basically no pressure because when people screw up they just get rezzed and keep going. Props to ppl doing it on hardcore!

They said Inferno would be hard and I think they delivered. Let's hope it stays that way and get even more difficult as they fix the OP crap ppl are using to get through.

people are actually whining about Wizards force armor getting nerfed? Are they fucking retarded? Wizards arent supposed to be tanks, just like demonhunters, they get oneshot from everything.

I totally agree with you. I play a wizard and I think this rune is bullshit and makes no sense. A caster should not be tanking hits like no one else. They should change it so some of the damage is absorbed by arcane power instead of health kinda like a mana shield or something. In it's actual form it's overpowered plain and simple.

Good job on those ppl clearing Hell in HC mode. Like they said bosses are a joke compared to the mob packs. I'm on Hell in softcore mode right now and although I'm being very careful I got jailed by an elite between 2 arcane rope/laser and a pool of poison below me... needless to say I died quick enough even with a pot, diamond skin and a 24k HP pool... HC is not for me :P

Even more props for doing it with laggy servers. I've had the occasional 1000ms lag spike that teleported me and almost got me killed in the middle of a kiting session against crazy mobs. Def not trying HC until this is completely fixed on Blizzard's end. Losing hours of work because of a lag spike would just be too frustrating.

We need some REAL solutions for all the ingame stuttering problems (and yes.. it IS a software problem!). For example, I've exchanged my ATI radeon 4890 with an ATI radeon 6950 (which should be faster in any sense of the way), but ingame I experience MORE stuttering and 'loading' moments when encountering new creatures or events.. its ridiculous!! And i'm not the only player with a pretty decent gaming pc who has these problems.

Also, the lag on the Europa server is horrible, I have a fast internet connection and ping about 180-200 ms average.. never had this in my entire life in any other game!

    Edit:

Also, for the ati users, the 12.3 catalyst drivers seem to be less affected with the stuttering problems compared to the latest 12.4 drivers.

Did you try turning vsync ON in the options? When I have it off (which I never do in any game) I get crazy stuttering/screen tearing. With vsync on the game is smooth as silk @ 60 FPS no matter how many blizzards I spam on the screen and amount of mobs.

There's plenty of time for Blizz to add new gems and tweak things up. The game hasn't even been out for a week yet. Pretty sure they're going to add new gems either with a patch or an xpac at some point.

As for the legendaries, if the guide is accurate, they are not completely random. They have a fixed amount of affixes and some of them are guaranteed and some are random. Like a legendary weapon could be guaranteed to have 5 affixes. Of these 5, 3 are guaranteed like STR, VIT, Attack % and the other 2 are random and could be anything. The values for each affixes are random though. It is a lot of RNG for something so rare, I think they should change it so they are the best items in game if correctly rolled. It would make them even more "legendary" because it'd be really hard to get a really good one but once you have it, it's epic.

I see it more as a collectible than an undying valid source of information. It'll go nicely with my CE and I got the hardcover limited edition for 26$CAN shipped off amazon.ca which is a fair deal imo.
