Okay perhaps I was abit vague, I'll try to explain again.
In Diablo 2 whenever you opened a chest/looked behind a rock flipped a corpse etc, you could get a sound of a switch being pressed (warning for something dangerous to happen) The chest itself could start to burn/you could get targeted by fireballs/lightning bolts/different aoe novas (posion, fire etc)
And for example, when you hit barrels they could explode for sometimes dire damage (perhaps about 30-40%) now the only thing that can pop out is some fragile skeleton.
No, I haven't seen any traps in those form or iteration. All the traps we have seen have been somewhat more advanced or a pressure-plate kind.
Honestly, the D2 traps were lame and ineffective at best. Barrel explosions don't have any gameplay depth to them. You either chose to destroy barrels and take slight damage or did not destroy any. The chest traps were easily avoidable. Just run on a diagnal out.
Being locked in a room with twenty mobs or having giant axes fall on your head are much more interesting trap designs IMO.

I don't mean to rain on a parade but Titmouse just did the english TV spots of Afro Samurai for Spike TV. The actual anime was created by Gonzo.
I'm really looking forward to this animation. The clips from the making of video looked fantastic!
