If this actually angers you in any serious way, step away from the keyboard and do some yoga until 12am PST May 15th. You will feel much better.

posted a message on Closed Beta Players - "One of the Chosen" Feat of Strength
In 6 days you won't remember that you could have maybe had a sigil. Feats of Strength mark events and sometimes have an extra award and almost always have nothing to do with skill. There are Feats in Strength in WoW for logging in a certain day that you can never get again unless you discover time travel.

    i.e:
Server First max level achievement: No reward
Log on during wow anniversary: In-game pet

As someone who never got into closed beta, let me say: big whoop, I'll display one of the sigils I can earn in game.

Its really a terrible PR move on Blizzard's side
Yea I'm sure the rep will take a big hit for this one, mmhmm

Again, in Diablo 2 terms, we've seen up to Blood Raven. There's absolutely no way of knowing what traps are in acts no one has seen.

games nowadays have too little ways to lose or be punished, the hardcore feature fixes that.

Yeah, they're not games but entertainments. :QQ: Imo the hack'n slash concept make great games but awful entertainments. Can't have the cake and eat it. If the HC is not entertaining enough, increase the difficulty, which is fun. If the SC is not entertaining enough, increase the rarity of good stuff, which is boring.
"Games these days". What do you mean? Games have had save features since the 80s. When you died in Legend of Zelda, your save file didn't get wiped, you just had to re-clear the dungeon. Diablo's hardcore/permanent death mode is only used in a handful of titles (for example, Everquest briefly had a permanent death server that was later removed).

So if you're only playing games with permanent death, you're talking about Diablo.

You don't have to cut SC at the knees to make HC stand taller, both are fun in their own right. Hardcore is a forced mode to see how far you can get without dying. Even when I play SC I try and get through with as few deaths as possible.

    (I play both modes)

Edit: Just to re-iterate, I'm not calling into question the validity of Hardcore mode (I love it), but don't throw every other game into the "not a game, not fun" pile if it doesn't have permanent death. That's just silly.

Demon Hunter only has a few chance to stuns and Marked for Death on 1-3 enemies.

Since you're counting the Witch Doctor's pets, you have to count Companion.

Cull the Weak - Damage against slowed enemies increased by 15%
Sentry Totem: Aid Station, or Guardian Turret
Marked for Death: Valley of Death, Grim Reaper, or Death Toll

Not to mention stuns, slows, traps and damage from range. It's not that simple to just rule out one whole class.

Dudes, I know the game, maybe better than you do.

Quoting this out of context from a a forum post.

I just can't agree with this statement, I'm very good at checkers.

You can't take a quote out of context, say so, and then rail against it in relation to something that he wasn't talking about. He was talking about the skill UI. Have you looked at all the skills/runes? They are very open to calculation and debate.

The following are the rune variants for Wrath of the Berserker:

    - Activating Wrath of the Berserker knocks back all enemies within 12 yards and deals 430% weapon damage to themActivating Wrath of the Berserker knocks back all enemies within 12 yards and deals 430% weapon damage to them

-While active your damage is also increased by 100%.

-While Wrath of the Berserker is active, Critical Hits have a chance to cause an eruption of blood dealing 155% weapon damage to enemies within 15 yards.

-Increases bonus to Dodge Chance to 60%.

-Every 25 Fury gained while Wrath of the Berserker is active adds 1 second to the duration of the effect.

That's not "red laser" vs. "blue laser". If you are asserting that choosing between the dodge version and the 100% damage increase makes no difference, then, well, that's just a guess because you haven't played the game yet.

I am probably reading way, WAY too much into this, but the comment Jay made about Hell Mode could be a little...concerning. I know Blizzard was saying that they want a lot of viable builds and for skills to be used equally, but in saying that it depends on his current build whether he can get through Hell or not (or at least implies it)...well, it sorta confirms what I was thinking. I know, I know...again, I am probably reading into this way too much, but I can't help but think that this could lead to difficulty tuning adjustments in terms of nerfs, and other things. That, and there could be potential for some skills to just not be used at all and more 'cookie cutter' style popping up. Not that it wasn't going to, but...yeah...just rambling now.

Suffice to say, I am hoping that if Blizzard does get a lot of complaining (which they inevitably will), that they stick to their guns and don't nerf Hell/Inferno and instead balance and tune potential skills and abilities that might be too underperforming and allow for more build diversity. Especially since Bashiok and others in the PR department have been really pushing those 'billons of builds' lately, even if in the end there will definitely not be that many that make it through. Here's hoping there are

    *End incoherent rambling* :bleh:

Actually you didn't think into it enough! This in all likelihood means that there are many packs in hell that clash with your current build and you won't be able to kill them without swapping in a different rune/skill.
