Maybe I am missing something, but I found the cosmic strand guide and taught my Blacksmith but I cannot find the offhand section in his armor crafting area, is this a bug, has this happened to anyone else?
Yeah, I mean, you make a good point about the items feeling same-ish. I guess in my head I was thinking they would be something like they were in D2. But with the overall design philosophy being what it is the runewords wouldnt add much. But imagine if they actually stated getting creative again with both Legendary and RW. I dunno, could be good. I see what you mean though, the root of the problem is same-y feeling items and I don't disagree.
I feel like there has to be plenty of great ideas going on at Blizz but someone or something is blocking them.
Hey ladies and gentlemen, remember runewords? This was one of the coolest additions to D2. I'm curious though as to everyone's opinion on this: it seemed like the droprates were 1/a billion for the rare runes like Zod or Cham. It seemed like the only way the runeword economy functioned at all was due to duping. I know this is someone old and irrelevant but I was just wondering what everyone's opinion is on the whole runeword viability being totally based on the rampant duping that went on in D2.
Second part of discussion, who would like to see Runewords in D3, they are perhaps not even possible at the moment since we can only roll 1 socket on a weapon or a helm for example but maybe the D3 team could add a new tier of sockets that could not be socketed with gems, only runes, that way we could roll runewords like in D2 but with appropriate drop rates.
Perhaps you were, but I work full time and have a family, can't spend as many hours farming as I would like. Nevertheless, Post you DPS, Toughness and your profile friend-o.
I was reading the developer interview round up and read this paragraph
"With respect to itemization improvements, the team understands that one of main problems with existing legendaries is that they're often relegated to "toy status" because, while the've got fun effects, they rarely offer comparable upgrades to efficiency-based stats like DPS and EHP. The goal is to make sure that future legendaries don't just look cool, but that they're also compelling to use and make your character feel powerful, both visually and mechanically"
Like, seriously? This is a f***ing revelation to these people? It makes me want to go and slap all the developers in the face. This is the most obvious thing in any game that has items. No one is going to enjoy some fun unique ability or quirk in an item if of course the item has bad DPS, this is a prerequisite to a legendary item. Its oxygen and water, cant live without it.
How are these developers seriously just figuring this out now? Complete amature stuff right here, as if they never made a game before. Its one of those things where I just have no words, I cant...
