Skill damage is based off weapon damage, cast speed is based off attack speed. Since we use mana, getting a fast weapon uses more mana to do the same dps.
Huh? Getting fast weapon will make you use more mana (or rather spend it faster, couse the mana cost stays the same) but you dps (damage per second) will be higher, becouse you're able to cast more spells in the same period of time.

This is what i've experienced, and also what makes sense to me. With more atk spd you do run out of mana faster of course, but at the same time your slingin spells faster and doing more dmg in a shorter time frame. I've been trying to get atk spd on anything i can because I enjoy being able to shoot darts real fast or chuck fire bombs alot at a time, of course, thats not a primary or even secondary stat that I look for. Its all playstyle if you ask me

On topic, I've been stacking Int/Vit. as much as possible, and if I get an item that has Str. as well.. all the better!

posted a message on Spirit Walk Useless?
So, I think we can officially debunk the idea that spirit walk is useless.. far the opposite! I hadn't even thought about the ability to still cast spells in spirit walk, that alone gives it some great options.
My favorite combo so far is initiating a fight with spirit walk and running straight in to a group, popping soul harvest and getting out with the buff and proceed to lay waste to the entire group (likely with dire bats :P )

It also gets you out of nasty situations like from jailers and wallers and lets you get into better positioning. The speed boost that it gives you is pretty friggin sweet as well, I'm excited to get some of the runes for it now!

posted a message on Dire Bats - OP as hell?
Ya, Dire bats are VERY strong. I just can't hit that hard with anything, and its a line aoe to boot. I'm almost 30 now, I finally switched dire bats over to locust swarm. While it doesn't hit very hard theres somethin to be said for only having to cast it once, and it does do solid dmg - just over time. Its saving grace is that it spreads on its own allowing you to spam other abilities. I think some of the locust runes could put it in strong contention with dire bats.

posted a message on Blizzard Downloader and Wireless Connection
Hey, I've been having some issues with download speeds when it comes to the Blizz downloader (Problem also extends to Steam if this helps). I've been getting ridiculously low speeds even after following all of the blizzard steps to open ports on my firewall.
I think the problem might be at the router, which I don't have access too. I live in a condo that has the router at the landlords place, Is there any way to get around this without having to go talk to the landlord? My speeds when playing are fine, I even get good download speeds when using torrents. The download even started off fast before eventually getting the "your computer is behind a firewall" error
Suggestions or help are greatly appreciated!

posted a message on WD Summons seem Under Powered to me
    Quote from 1up_Mush

    Quote from RockmanDoom

Dont get me wrong, I understand that the WD is not supposed to be a pure summon class, but 25% wep dmg for Gargantuan, 20% Wep Dmg for the fetish army, of which you only get 5, and 9% Wep Dmg for the Z-Dogs.

Seems to me like the pets are nothing but glorified tanks. Was excited before to play WD but not so much now, does anyone else feel the same way?

You didn't evaluate damage you can dish out with thorn passive for sure, else you would say that pet's seem unbalanced. If you play long enough and can farm a uber gear set...

    Max thorn value

    Amulet: 2544
    Belt: 2544
    Chest: 2544
    Shield: 2544
    Shoulders: 2544
    Weapon: 2544
    Armor: 1454
    Offhand: 1454
    Ring: 1454

    Total max value: 18326

So, you and every pet you have would return 18326 damage when hit before reduction. I doubt anything can be as powerful as this.

I'm curious where you found this info? I, surprisingly i guess, haven't heard of caps on stats.

Pets are definitely fine I think, but you've really gotta use the right runes / passives to really capitalize on them. Theres also another summon that I feel most people forget about, the spider queen, I don't believe she despawns and thats one more minion out there. I hope she's more than 16% dmg though, but i guess thats the trade off for having the constant dps without spamming.

posted a message on Awful builds and official forums
So, over in the Witch Doctor forums someone made a post to come up with a shitty build and share it, I came up with

    Spirit Walker Build

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/witch-doctor#ZUXdRQ!WVY!aYZbZa

Strategy - Focuses on dealing as much dmg as possible with spirit walk while having an abundance of CC so while your waiting for Spirit Walk cooldown you can run around in circles! Also with the Horror and Fetish Shaman runes you get bonus move speed to completely maximize the amount of enemies you run through. As well with hex you get to run through little chickens that take an additional +20% dmg!!

Suggested itemization - Move Speed, Hardest hitting 2hander you can find, and every little bit of +dmg you can muster in place of health - cause you won't ever be getting hit after all!! It's also recommended to dye all of your armor pink to maximize the horror when you run at a group of enemies!

To further maximize dps it is encouraged that you yell "WeeeeEEEEEeeee" for the duration of spirit walk...

I copy/pasted it into the Diablo forums for lulz.. People are so serious even though its obvious troll. I think it could be funny if diablofans posters bombarded the official forums with posts like this! Let me know what you come up with!
