I wonder when exactly a Marquise Ruby beats out a Marquise Emerald for CM/WW? Our higher Crit % would mean Emerald is better, or is there a point where Ruby begins to outpace?

haha, necroing my thead. Funny to look back, and see what we got right, and what we got wrong.

We were dead on about Shocking Aspect, Disintegrate being awesome. I was dead wrong on Hydra being terrible. Galvanizing ward did suck, and continues to suck this day. Nobody saw Archon coming. There was a hint of CM, though.

Been a long time since I played d3, so I'll take some advice my toon:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/profile/Venaliter-1813/hero/54964

The Plan: Acquire enough IAS to get the 2.73 Breakpoint and an Open Socket Chantodo's. I suspect an Emerald > Ruby. Or was.

The Catch: Requires about 8% more IAS from Gear. Makeable but upgrading Hellfire Ring to IAS, preferably with Crit/Crit damage.

The Questions: What % Crit do you need to drop Cold Snap for Bone Chill; Can you ever drop Evocation for Glass Cannon? Should I use Scoundrel's 3% or +% damage buff? Is about ~600 resistances about right?

    Quote from NadaObama

any of u guyz try this build out yet?

The problem is, however good Disintegrate is, and it's not bad at all, it can't compare to Archon or CM. At least, not yet. The damage is, as far as I know, fairly close, but Disintegrate doesn't have the utility of CM, or the raw power of Archon.

That all said, it's a change of pace, and Archon is on the nerf list when they revamp some skills, rumored to happen in 1.09...

Doesn't really matter. Blizzard doesn't want to go to court. Court costs money even if they have all the evidence in the world. This is a simple rule they have to save money.

What company wants to go to court?

    Apple ;-)

Maybe when they are done "adapting" the game to console, they can make some real improvement to the PC version; most notably skill synergy, quests actually giving rewards, and itemization woes that have plagued the game forever.

Looks like 1.08 is going to be pretty soon. May 7th seems likely.

What crack did you pull that predicted date from?

The simple fact no more changes are being made means it's probable it'll be released soon. 2+ weeks is about right; maybe the 14th is equally likely.

Does Blizzard work with Critical Mass? Is it all ticks or just the first one? I wonder if it could drive a CM type build sometimes.

Also, Blizzard hanging around longer increases Cold Blooded uptime; and it's ludicrous if +blizz duration works differently then Unrelenting storm. Also, the longer blizzard ticks, and the slow is applied, means the hydra or meteor spell(whatever your AP spender) your using is dealing damage.

I think it works with CM but because the proc coefficient is so low (1.25%), it isn't reliable. WW coefficient is 10 times that of blizzard, and there seems to be some funny things going on with CM+WW which makes it even better than expected. Also, Bliz doesn't stack, which further makes it bad for CM procs.

I was envisioning whole zones covered in blizzards with +blizz duration, not something akin to CMWW. What you'd do with those CM procs, I have no idea. Maybe WoF? Just idly wondering.

I'm note sure *how* it works exactly, but the proc coefficient of 0.01 makes it pretty useless imho.

I believe it was buffed to .0125

*The experience bonus rewarded for killing monsters on Monster Power levels 1-10 in Inferno has been increased:

    MP 1: 25% (up from 10%)
    MP 2: 50% (up from 20%)
    MP 3: 80% (up from 30%)
    MP 4: 120%(up from 45%)
    MP 5: 165% (up from 60%)
    MP 6: 215% (up from 75%)
    MP 7: 275% (up from 95%)
    MP 8: 340% (up from 115%)
    MP 9: 420% (up from 135%
    MP 10: 510% (up from 160%)

It should be easy enough to calculate the best mp level. I'm sure there's an easy formula for those mathematically inclined to work out. It's probably best to do mp3-6 in most cases, unless you can kill mobs two, three times faster then "norm".

Surprised I haven't seen a thread like this popping up anywhere else.

It'll be interesting to see how 1.07 changes Paragon farming. With the bonus XP for monster power being added, it will likely be more efficient to farm mp3-4 for above average geared folks, and higher for the demigods among us.

Also keep in mind it may be more profitable to equip Leoric's and Hellfire rings and do lower MP then equipping Pox and Litany.

Looking forward to seeing some math on this.
