If you watch closely, it kills the mob it hits + the mob slightly behind and to the right. It looks like it also damaged the mob to the left of him and knocked that mob back a bit.
link to video please?
It's the Witch Doctor video on the official blizzard site.
Dire Bats animation at 0:40, Hungry Bats animation at 0:53. Both look awfully similar but Dire Bats seems to be bigger while Hungry Bats seem to be smaller and faster
-Burning Dogs rune for your Zombie Dogs is a bad choice for a rune, it may look cool but it only does a measly 2% dmg
Per dog, per target and I would assume per second (This will be known when we get there). This is a good rune if you're looking for extra damage off of your dogs.
Ah ok, in this per second aspect it does seem more useful
From what I can tell from your post, you want to maintain a good amount of DPS while conducting plenty of summons. Here's my 2 cents:
The Good
-You won't be mana starved
-You got plenty of summons that can definitely help take enemies off you
-Your passives synergizes with your pets
The Bad
-For a build that's supposed to do good DPS on the side, you have terrible DPS
-Toad of Hugeness is nowhere near good enough to provide crowd control. Here's a video showing Toad of Hugeness:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T4LEJfrjJWA&feature=results_video&playnext=1&list=PLA146DFCBBE3AC6A7, this definitely won't work as crowd control
-Gargantuan with Big Stinker rune(unless you use Bad Medicine as your passive) makes no sense in your build, pick a better rune for your Gargantuan that can do more damage
-You have no self heal to keep you alive, with no reliable crowd control and self heal you would be dead in an instant
-Burning Dogs rune for your Zombie Dogs is a bad choice for a rune, it may look cool but it only does a measly 2% dmg
-Fetish Army has a long cooldown even with Devoted Following, highly recommened whenever you try to use this ability you have a passive that reduces this cooldown such as Grave Injustice or Tribal Rites
Build needs more work, but keep working at it and it will eventually be good. Don't give up! Also I made some changes that you might like to your build:

Searing Locust rune(has even more incredible damage) for Locust Swarm might be able to replace Devouring Swarm rune that I set you up with IF you have the mana to spare. Added Grasp of the Dead for crowd control, with Grave Injustice you will be able to spam this with ease. Zombie Dogs provides heals for you as well as Grave Injustice passive. Vision Quest for a big boost of mana for you to play around with. Gargantuan with Bruiser rune for more damage and additional crowd control, feel free to change the rune around for this one if you want something more specific. Hungry Bats provides a ton of single target burst damage for you, if the mana is too much for this replace with Spirit Barrage with either Spirit is Willing rune or Well of Souls rune

What I saw in that video seems to be more like Dire Bats at 2:25, though I could be mistaken
