ok, so i got my 2nd choice ammy today. so now i have 902LOH. I also made it to Diablo, but have yet to beat her. Actually, its my shadow self thats killing...It seems i am more badass than i have figured out yet. lmao. I just permafreeze Diablo as much as possible.

Also blasted thru Izual with permafreeze. was pretty awesome. The life regen just happens to be on the gear i pickup. I'm not actively searching for it. Havent been for awhile. Just so happens the chest piece had 500 regen on it. I picked it up for the 78 all resist and the armor upgrade.

well, back to fighting the good fight. and then hopefully farming
you dont have to actually kill your shadow, you can just run away and avoid attacks, and it will disappear after a while.

so do yall think its better to run LoH over life regen? i currently have about 8-900 life per sec. wouldnt mind some LoH, but still saving for rings and such before i get a different weapon. I'm sure a ring with 3-4% crit and LoH will be thru the roof

For melee build, LoH>Life Regen. For kiting spec it's the other way around. LoH is just rediculous in the melee spec and I could often see tics for 2-6k with just 1k LoH.
1k loh and u ticked for 6k? arent u using life steal?(it works well with explosion blast if u have more than 30k dps) but sucks with twisters.

I think you need 35%+crit(attack speed helps too) and like 15 ap on crit to get a nice flow of explosions and twisters. Other than that I would say you need 500 or more EHP to survive things like laser beams and such in case things get ugly, sure u can do with less but then ull die more often. And as some have already mentioned, melee mobs are more less free kills, real trouble is ranged mobs with "fast" affix imo, they are a real pain in the ass because I cannot single lock them for more then a few seconds(or even at all sometimes), so those can be skiped unless you have a lot of trash mobs around to keep the crits and novas going.

chain reaction w/ critical mass works better for me due to the ff:
    1. spammable
    2. more chances to crit
    3. number 2 leads to more AP and faster cooldown of spells
    4. More AP leads to more spells

keep in mind though that chain reaction has a proc% of 11% each of the 3 blasts, while short fuse has 33% proc chance, so its around the same, the big difference is that chain reaction has no casting animation.

u said u had problems with phasebeasts without a shield, you prolly already know this but with frost nova phasebeasts are more or less cake, as are pretty much all melee mobs as long as u have enough crit chance% and ap on crit. An yeah u can find very good deals on sources for like 4-5 mill if you are patient.

The obvious thing would be to get a better wand(like a similar one with a socket), but that would be very steep(with loh and ap on crit). Also the hat could be changed, and if u decide to up your crit% chance and resists/armor, you could also change shield for a source?

I use spectral blade because of arcane dynamo, it increases my dps by a lot. I may eventually switch out archon for something else, but don't have any ideas currently. And yeah my EHP is around 1.5million ^^

    Archon sweetness

holy crap, 16k armor, 2k physical res, never seen anything like that, have u tried using a source to pump ur damage? I honestly think that with the armor/resistances u have u wouldnt feel that much of a diference(if u do just use frost nova?) u would kill things a lot faster and I dont think u would die still....

yeah but chain reaction as said before has no cast animation while short fuse does, I do think though that short fuse is more helpfull against annoying ranged mobs with "fast" affix for example.

The problem of not using frost nova is that elites will activate their skills a lot more, then things can get pretty ugly, like for example fire chains which is not that bad of an affix alone for melee wizard if u position urself properly, or fronze+ arcane like the guys u were fighting(skull cleavers are usually cake). Nice job there though, u prolly have shitloads of EHP so I guess u can run without frost nova, I woudl still try it instead of spectral blade since u already have archon for annoying ranged mobs.

Wind Up Wizard Build - My updates after some play testing....
    http://us.battle.net...YXhT!gWb!YYZacc

Cold Snap vs Bone Chill: Better for packs of 3 elites or less.
Shock Armor - Shocking Aspect: This DOUBLES your Energy Twister damage!!!
Teleport - Fracture: Allows you to Freeze/DPS any monsters on your screen at once.
Evocation - Makes single target perma-freeze possible w/Cold Snap.

Please note: You require physical res of 700 unbuffed, playing with a Barb brings this to 1000.

    I have 1.71 Attack Speed
    41% Crit hit chance
    30kdps

I can steam roll act 3 with a barb.

    Word.
whats ur armor(unbuffed) and life? Seems like u would get 1-2 shotted most of the time without energy armor?

I get almost all gear(buy some new crap:)) to try this build. I plan to start with "Bucher runs". Than A2. Just to test it.
Need only wand with LoH+APonCrit and with not very low damage(at least 770dps and some little dps-buff, to change my current main weapon 935dps+170int+11AS).
    Stats:
21k dps(will be low after new weapon) - 28k hp
    ~1000AR - 8000Armor with Prismatic.(700-4650 unbuffed)
    Crit chance=28.5% Crit dmg=73% AP on Crit = 7
LoH=320 (wait for new weapon. also can get more with amulet and rings update)

    Have 2 questions:
    1) If i will get 10AP/crit(buy new helm) and 800-1000LoH(rings+amu) i can clear A1, A2? A3? (so i can start try without main weapon change. don't want to buy 600-700dps crap)
    2) I often play with friend-barb. So for team-play with my current stats i need to change PrismaticArmor(AR buff) for Pinpoint Barier(+5%crit)? Or may be i can change some gear to have 1000AR with Prismatic and Shout but will get more DPS???
for act 1 u dont even need loh... what Id advise u to do is try to squeeze some more crit chance % and ap on crit if possible as those are the pillars of the build, u know to make the chain explosions and perma freeze flow. After that you look for things like more defense/res, LoH, and after those things more damage.

I use energy armor with the 1.5% ls and a weap with 2.9 ls.

total 4.4% ls, my orbs crit for 200 - 300k

    (0.044 * 200k) * 0.2 = 8800 * 0.2 = 1760 life

Factor in orbs AOE on a group and sometimes I see numbers as high as 5 - 6k life steal on a crit orb. Has made farming a breeze. You would need stupid epic gear to gain that kind of leech with loh.

    ls ftw.
dont forget that the 1,5% ls from magic weapon doesnt suffer the inferno %reduction in ls, so in reality you have 2,9% with the inferno reduction is about 0,6% plus ls from mw without inferno red 1,5%=2,1actual life steal.
