That is a good question, I too laughed at the idea before.

I thought it was funny in Act 4 when he 'lost hope' and then before you fight Diablo, he's all - hopeful, again. Such a mood swing, not manly at all.

I thought that was because Diablo had captured the Angel of Hope bringing everyone down except for the nephalem who went on to free her and restoring hope.

    yesterday:

No, no, no... far, far less than 1%

    today:

1.9% of characters have unlocked Inferno difficulty

    WTF!!

Oh no, an inconsistency (even though Bashiok has stated many times before that he doesn't necessarily fact check before sharing information because it would take forever to respond back)

And 1.9% is ridiculously low anyway. That means 98.1% haven't unlocked Inferno mode. Get over it.

Also, it specifies characters, not players (Which I believe Bashiok's original post covered). I have two inferno characters, I'm sure other alt grinding folks do too.

It's a graphic to people who dedicated time to helping Blizzard test their product. Big whoop. The world will keep turning.

Well, that's not actually true. It's a graphic (and Feat of Strength) given to people who got randomly chosen to get access to the beta - whether they played the beta or even downloaded the client at all. That's right, if you got the golden ticket, and you never even glanced at your bnet account, for some reason you get extra content in your post-launch copy of Diablo 3.

    Crap, that changes everything!

    ...

Wait, no it doesn't. This "extra content" is literally a single 2D sprite that has no impact on gameplay whatsoever. It is of such insignificance that it confounds me anyone could take offense to it. If this gets your goat going, I hate to see what you do to vendor-exclusive pre-order content packs which frequently include things that DO have some sort of legitimate extra content.

posted a message on (Spoiler) Diablo III - Item Affixes
    Quote from ShadowDestroyer

What the heck? If they only put affixes for a few abilities, then everyone will use those abilities. :(

Not as far as I can tell. The Barbarian's selection for instance includes everything that deals damage that isn't a significant resource generator that already has a cooldown (I.E. Ancient Spear/Leap Attack), some sort of debuff that doesn't apply damage by default (Threatening Shout), or the super long cooldown skills in the Rage tab. Wizards are Primary/Secondary/Force with the odd omission of Wave of Force. Witch Doctors are Primary/Secondary/Decay with the omission of Haunt in favor of Zombie Dogs (Which is very appropriate). Demon Hunters are... less obvious at a glance and monks have Tempest Rush in for some reason that I can't fathom.

Anyway, point is the abilities that don't benefit from these perks are not abilities you'd be using as primary/secondary nukes. They're either limited by cooldowns too much, defensive, or general utility to really benefit.

A graphic which has no value to me but even if I did, I'm not entitled to it and I don't feel I am. These "Fans" need to grow up.

posted a message on Which is better teammate for WD: Wizard or Monk?
    Quote from MerciLayla

PS: Fighting over Int gear is less relevant with D3's personal drops AND crafting system (Salvage items that you both don't want and make shinies together. It might be random with how often you get useful things, but it's still fuzzy wuzzy :)

The idea isn't that you're picking a class with a different primary stat to avoid arguments, so much as you now have two players in a match getting twice the loot drops. If you share a primary stat, it's less likely your partner will be willing to share drops he would equip, but a monk can do three things with INT gear; he can either sell it, break it down, or throw it to his WD partner.

posted a message on Skills/Runes you never plan on using
Well, it's 190% instant as physical vs 100% + 40% dot as poison, so there's your tradeoff.

Not to mention that unless you're waiting a second or so between each dart, the 40% dot often gets overwritten with each dart so the reality is that you're getting maybe 120% weapon damage out of it per cast. It's partly what also makes the spiders such an attractive alternative.

The only skill I'm not interested in is Hex; it seems like such limited crowd control for a class that has so many other options.

Wall of Zombies acts as a literal meat shield to spam toads behind without fear of reprisal. Mass Confusion and Circle of Life serve to help ensure a steady supply of dogs to explode (Which in turn also ought to keep a few out due to the glyph). Locust Swarm additionally debuffs anyone infected by it to deal less damage and Soul Siphon heals me and buffs my damage.

Some decent synergy there, if you asked me.
