Nah, people are mad that they take ages to fix straightforward bugs like %damage on ele weapons.Quote from Uman
People are mad that Blizzard fixes exploits? Pathetic.

Are you comparing exploits to features?Quote from paralleluniverseConsole players also get to hack items into the game. It's so unfair that we can't hack items into the game on PC.

Apr 9, 2014BigEd781 posted a message on Undocumented Patch Notes, Several Legendary Items Weren't In The Game Until Today, 2.0.4 Hotfixes, +% Damage Bug Still Not FixedThat % damage fix had better be retroactive or... well, I can't do shit, but I'll sure be pissy. I have an otherwise great weapon that is gimped because of this. Seems odd that it would even be a question for this sort of bug; fix the math, fix the items.Posted in: News
And... ugly stars? WTF? Better to just do nothing than to introduce lazily made crap. -

Mar 21, 2014BigEd781 posted a message on Patch 2.0.3 Hotfixes - Updated 3/21, +100% Bonus XP – This Weekend OnlyWell this latest news took a bit of a crap on my parade. I came back to DIII because it seemed like they were doing a lot of the right things, things that the players had been asking for since release. I jumped on my Wiz, and holy crap; I was actually finding items that were upgrades? It's been fun and I am looking forward to Tuesday.Posted in: News
But now... now it's once again a "nerf that which is fun" mentality. I can commiserate with them not wanting people to feel the need to run CotA ad nauseam, but why take this approach? Why *nerf* instead of *buff*? Why not *increase* density in other areas? Why not add extra reward to Torment instead of just taking away things below it? When people say "Torment doesn't feel rewarding enough" they're not playing sly word games and actually saying "levels below Torment are *too* rewarding", they're saying "TORMENT ISN'T REWARDING ENOUGH!". So... buff torment a bit! Yeesh. -

Sep 14, 2012BigEd781 posted a message on Dev Journal: Defensive Bonuses and Monster DamagePosted in: NewsQuote from Roger
I'd like to see those "not mandatory defensive stats" on items also, because if you want to survive right now you almost must have a high AR in every piece of armor you can along with high main stat and high vit. Otherwhise you won't survive or do any damage.
That was true many patches ago, but not anymore. I've been backing down AR on my barb every chance I get because you just don't need a lot of it anymore after all of the nerfs. -
Sep 14, 2012BigEd781 posted a message on Dev Journal: Defensive Bonuses and Monster DamageThe only problem I see here is with the players8 additions (well, I don't exactly love the leap change either, but meh, I'll be fine).Posted in: News
If monster damage goes up with players8 (as it should)... then no, we just got nerfed. Most of us will be upping the difficulty because inferno is even more of a joke than it was... but now we have less mitigation. I'll reserve judgement until I get my hands on the patch to play around with, but I'm skeptical.
However, if I can still play in a higher difficulty (perhaps not the highest, but around the middle) and get better rewards then I would have in normal inferno, I'm ok with that. -

If you are given talent trees and stat points to choose within, and there are 100,000 possible combinations, that seems like a lot of choices. However, if 99,998 of those combinations will result in a sub par character, is that really a choice? No, you have two real choices.
This is how it was in D2 (I made the numbers up obviously), and this is how it currently is in WoW. You look up a spec and click click click until you fill out the tree. You aren't making real decisions, you are copying theorycrafters and veteran players who have already analyzed each option for you.
In D3 you do have many possible combinations of skills, and it is on you to decide which work best for you. I'm sure some combinations will be sub-optimal, but far fewer than in D2. It comes down to how you like to play, which is great.

Umm... yes, yes they are, by definition. You may disagree with their philosophy regarding certain features, but they are the developers and they design the game, so by definition, what the decide to allow is how the game is intended to be played.
You're confusing two different concepts here. They are always right about the current design because they dictate the design requirement. That does not mean they always make the best choices and that the design is perfect. The will iterate, they will refine, and they will change things. Currently, they do not agree with your vision of what PvP should be.
I never said you were playing D2 "incorrectly" (I'm actually stumped as to how one could ever play a game "incorrectly"), I was responding to what I had seen said about PvP in D3. If they allowed it in D2 then obviously it was intended. They changed their mind oh how PvP should be implemented since D2.

No, the developers tell you what the game is and how it should be played, and obviously they think PvP should be relegated to area battles, so there you go.
