There wasn't anything unique about the d2 cow level either except dr he method of entering it. They just used he act 1 wilderness map look and made it go around in a circle. This 'cow rift' is a welcomed addition. Only in my dreams though because it isn't real. ;)

Mmmm, personally I eyeball the 2,400DPS 1H and the 2,600DPS 2H, and wonder just how much bonus I need from Finery to make up the difference. By my math that is less than ten percent base DPS difference between the two -- and doesn't count that I am looking at 1.15 vs 1.4 attacks, which means faster wrath gen, which means more spamming lasers or other "wrath only" spenders to hurt things.

I would honestly bet that a reasonably built 1H crusader and 2H crusader would be about equal, once you factor in all the non-sheet DPS bits and pieces. Probably play very differently, but that isn't such a thing.
This is what I am talking about. I haven't done the math either, I am currently at work. I really think it boils down to your build choice.

While i do understand that all other classes may have better offhands, that's because they are meant to do a bit more damage than crusaders. Crusaders do have supporting passive a that help our block chance along to some extent. I strongly believe that if I found the right 1hand with enough DPS to support it (2400+) i would definitely consider replacing heavenly strength with something else to make up for the damage ( the one that gives increased damage depending on how may gems you have socketed) gave me a pretty huge boost when I got my legs chest and weapon socketed. There are alternatives for the Crusader, just not ones that upfront like heavenly strengrh. For someone just starting to gear the class, it's always going to be the foot passive because it's the easiest to get your sheet DPS up and go 'look at my damage'! YAY

Carrying a 2hand+shield is ridiculous, even for a crusader. The fact that our shields gives a considerable DPS boost, you have to have some kind of debuff on the passive. If you want to use heavenly strength and you don't have a Hellskull yet, until then reset those paragon points into movement speed or use steed. It's really not hard. This is the point of diablo, to maximize the potential of your character in any way possible. The new Paragon system supports that philosophy very IMO.

edit: I forgot it reduces you maximum speed, so I guess paragon points still would not work. :( you Could still use steed thouand and stack CDR. Either be faster or do more damage... Unless Hellskull drops :D

posted a message on Incentive to play coop in ROS
So i haven't been keeping up with all the changes in beta lately as i have been having a blast with Marvel Heroes..with adventure mode coming and nephalem valor stacks removed, is there any reason to play with other people besides the chance of finding a legendary they could use? I am just trying to see if it is going to be more efficient to play by myself?

Any info or links would be appreciated. :)

posted a message on Free trade or riot

While I understand Blizzard's stance, I support free trade. Here is my argument:

Diablo 3 has always promoted playing with your friends. That's fine, I enjoy playing with other people anyway. But, what comes along with that is RNG and the amount of time each player puts into the game. Some people are not going to be equally geared and will not successful in same higher difficulties. Therefore, this discourages team play for people that want more of a challenge rather than be stuck in a lower difficulty with their friends. Sure, a rare item MAY help, or they could wait for that person to catch up, but how long would that be? Why is it such Sin to be able to help out a friend and give him a piece of gear that may help him m or her move along with a build they are trying and/or with friends? 3rd party sites are always going to be around if there is something in the game that can be traded, so might as well make every item BOA..

posted a message on While you are bored waiting for RoS...
Seconded. I played in the closed beta, and it was indeed an unpolished game. I think the strongest point of the game right now for me is all of the incentives right now to keep playing. Leveling your crafter is actually a grind and has some very useful things. Obtaining your legendary for every character and leveling it up, hero synergies, and although very unbalanced ATM there are some great things coming for PVP. In short, the endgame is strong with Marvel Heroes now and I think Blizzarcould grab some inspiration from it.

posted a message on Should gold be wiped at RoS launch?
Regarding the whole 'it's all about the fun of the journey' thing... It's one thing to KNOW BEFOREHAND that your character and gold could be wiped (I don't think you lose your gold in D3 Hardcore but if it was on that character in D2 you did) and it's another thing entirely if you play for keeps (just Normal Mode).

I don't think it's going to be that game breaking that everyone could have a billion+ gold at the start of the expansion. You're still going to use it to play the game (craft) and not use it to play the AH. So from that standpoint, I voted no.

I have to confess to if I may, recently I've picked up LoD and have been taking a real stab for the first on the HC ladder now that I have a very stable connection. Also, Marvel Heroes has really improved since I played it in the closed beta so I am leveling up my Storm to 60 ATM working on obtaining my legendary and my PvP ring for her :) it's nice to see what other ARPG's are doing to get some comparison. Don't feel bad lol

If anything that they have done to 'derail' us from playing a certain way is removing the difficulties to beat before we can start the endgame. That is HUGE the franchise had always been about playing the story over and over again. Now we can actually start the grind for minmaxing whenever we want. I think it will be great.

A game's 'replay value' is subjective. If you enjoy re-rolling a character every time you want to try a new build, then great! Diablo 2 is perfect for that and has great past memories to live attached to it. If you enjoy leveling a class once to play the game for the chance to find a build changing legendary, then great! Diablo 3 is the game for you. I love all three games, and they all reach a point somewhere steep and near impossible to climb any further. It's just the way these games work.

That earthquake CD reduction is just what barbs need, very well thought out there for a set bonus. But as many people are stating, something needs to be done with that Tal Rasha set :( Maybe have it add 3% to all damage with each element having its unique effect applied to it (I.E. cold slows the enemies by a small amount).

Wow, those are some interesting calculations that he came up with! He's the Nostradamus of Sanctuary! Too bad his date didn't match up though, just like the real Nostradamus :)
