You don't understand it was funny because CoD have (way) more people still playing the game and you hate it. Still not getting it? ofc not. Lets try this: CoD is my favorite game, and is played so so much more than d3.
MAD?
You don't understand what's really funny because Bieber has (way) more fans than CoD and you hate him. Still not getting it? Ofc not. Let's try this: Bieber is (not) my favorite artist, and is listened to so, so much more than people play CoD.
MAD?
More seriously:
The fact that CoD has more players than D3 goes to show that, in the end, the numbers really don't matter much.
I have made a spreadsheet, counting in all the factors of upgrading gems. I input the new gem prices into it once a day or so, and so far, it has pretty much never been profitable to upgrade gems yourself.
...I am impressed, mortal. You have overcome the greatest challenge this world has ever faced and defeated the last of the Prime Evils.
However, we are too late to save the Worldstone. Baal's destructive touch has corrupted it completely. Given enough time, the Worldstone's energies will drain away and the barriers between the worlds will shatter. The powers of Hell will flood into this... Sanctuary... and eradicate your people and everything you've labored to build.
Therefore, I must destroy the corrupted Worldstone before the powers of Hell take root. This act will change your world forever, with consequences even I cannot foresee... However, it is the only way to ensure mankind's survival.
Go now, mortal. I have opened a portal that will lead you to safety.
May the Eternal Light shine upon you and your descendants for what you've done this day. The continued survival of mankind is your legacy. Above all else, you have earned a rest from this endless battle.

And yes, the fact that I know that whole dialogue off the top of my head is kinda sad
To start with, I don't really agree with the idea that a characters death should be "epic." I think he should have died in between Act 1 and 2 because he tripped and broke a hip, and they had to put him down (now THAT would be an epic cutscene).
What I really don't like though, is that Blizzard keeps doing these stupid in engine cinematics. They...need...to...stop. NOW. I can't think of a single good in game cinematic, in any of their games, even more so compared to their balls to the walls awesome rendered ones. It's like they completely forgot that so much of conversation is in body language, and then only gave all the models two or three actions that they just repeat. Translation - you should have walked in as Cain is dying (no talking, just walk in, Leah goes "noooooo" kaboom, "cain fixes the sword" and then cut to the summary cutscene that is voiced by your character. That would also do away with the second problem - they tell you what happens (tell, not showed, 3rd problem) twice. Once in the cutscene, and again in the voice over cutscene.
I think the reason they do a few cinematics in-game is because they don't have time to make a ton of those beautiful animated cinematics. I remember this being the case of the expansion pack for WarCraft III. A fight between Illidan and Arthas was made using the in-game engine, and they later said they planned to have that being a fully animated cinematic, but had to cut it due to time constraints.
The barbarian in D3 is the same barbarian from D2.
That was planned when the game was first unveiled, yes, but they appear to have sloped that. There is no mentioning of anything the Barbarian did in the second game in D3, and I seem to remember a blue post at one point saying that they didn't want to give the Barbarian too much of a "unique" story compared to the other classes.
Let me give you the explanation, blunt and simple. Diablo (lore, games, books and all that) is a franchise made for kids, teenagers and gaming adults. This means the people here are not very bright and are not expecting a logically sound masterpiece a la Dostoyevsky or Shakespeare or whatever other good story.
It's a franchise made for you to kill shit catering to the same kids that like Twilight, Harry Potter. You can get away with shit in order to make it feel "epic" and the player to feel "awesome and important". Whatever that means.
Your prejudices about teenagers and gaming adults makes you everything but "bright", I'm afraid...
And don't you dare mention neither Diablo nor Harry Potter in the same sentence as Twilight...
1. You payed 250 bucks for pixels that are guaranteed to lose their value at some point in the future.
2. The pixels lost their value.
3. You are surprised...
Even though Blizzard will not acknowledge it till the RMAH stuff has made them enough money, drop rates on rares in atleast Act 3 have gone down significantly. I went through 10 packs yesterday and received two or three rares. This is with only 175% MF ,but the same gear in Act 1 will net me 15 rares doing a butcher run.
So, its not you.. its Blizzard.
You know, if we were to jump back 10 million years in time, the odds of you being born exactly the way you are, doing the exact thing that you do, playing this exact game, are astronomically small.
In the real-money auction house, the minimum you can list an item for is $1.25 USD (or equivalent local currency). The minimum listing price for commodities is $0.25 (or equivalent local currency). The maximum you can set is $250 USD.
This would imply that 1000 gold will have a minimum worth of €/£ 0.25

I don't see what you're trolling about, since it was infact planned to have the Barbarian from D3 be the same as the one from D2.

Don't use RMAH if you don't like it.
