posted a message on Inferno w/o elective mode, possible?
Topic, i'm wonderign myself if it's even possible to finish inferno w/o elective mode (by that I don't mean choosing a build and disabling it after, I mean choosing a build of one skill of every category)

is it possible for every class? or fo only some classes? or not at all?

i'm asking this because some skills are basically needed, like smokescreen, revenge, breath of heaven,Warcry etc...

and using them keeps us from using other useful skill of that tree wich could make a suboptimal build for inferno

No troll attempt whatsoever. I've seen you post in multiple threads and when you encounter random people disliking some aspects or diablo 3 overall, you quickly pursue their enlightenment, as if trolling or actually being upset about something requires your divine hammer of justice and knowledge. That is why you're a fanboy.

    ^^^makes little to no sense.

Yes, when I read people espousing great hatred for a game that I, personally, think is pretty damn good....it makes me curious as to what EXACTLY it is that they're so upset about. Of course people cannot manage to answer such questions without barking out insulting, stupid, shit.

The word "fanboy" insinuates blind fandom no matter what product is offered forth. As if to say, I only like this game because it has Blizzards name on it.....which is foolish because this and D2 are the only Blizz titles I've ever used.

If you have any further questions...please direct them toward the nearest brick wall, as it will undoubtedly put far more caring toward your comments than I.

not that I agree with him at all but I just want to get facts straight, if you would buy any game just because it had ''blizzard'' title on it, it would make you a Blizzard fanboy, being a Diablo fanboy means you should buy every Diablo game only because it has the Diablo name on it, two completly different things.

anyhow accusing people of fanboyism is stupid and is in no way an argument, people don't like something and don't have legitimate reason to not like it(or have) but when others like that particular thing for the reason the others disliked then they are fanboy, blindly buying anything of the same label... wrong they simply have different opinion, I for one am enjoying myself the hell out of D3, many others are, I don't want to play D2 anymore, for me D3 is just better, because frankly D2 was very good, but is outdated now and has done it's time. while D3 is fresh an new, plus expensions are coming, future patches etc... does that make me an idiot fanboy? if so then i'll gladly be a fanboy over being someone who has nothing to do in it's life other than to come to the fan site of a game a despise telling how much that game suck..

    just my 2 cent

Seriously, people seem to love to scream fanboy like 12 year old girls scream bieber, It's pathetic.

If you fully dislike the game, and feel there's no way it can be redeemed for you, stop fucking playing, stop going on a DIABLO FAN SITE, and move on with your life. You are fully entitled to your opinion, but the majority of the people on this site don't want to hear it, and likely disagree with you, and anyone who does agree with you, well, they should refer to my second sentence.

And if that's too difficult for you to do, if you feel the undeniable need to go onto a fan site for a game you so despise, then expect people to disagree with you, and don't fall to such pathetic depths as to call them a fanboy, and act as if their enjoyment of the game is of any consequence to you.

If you simply dislike the way the game is going, or certain parts about the game, but think it can be redeemed in one way or another, then state your case instead of just bitching and then flaming everyone who disagrees with you by calling them a fanboy. If you have ideas of how to make it better, go post on the official forums and try to get some people to agree with you, and see if it gets noticed.

If you're simply an asshat who likes to troll people by going to fan sites of popular games and running down the game and acting as if any person who likes it is a "fanboy" and act as if that's the worst possible thing that a person can be, then seriously, get a fucking life, because anyone who does that is a complete waste of space.

Now as I type this I realize that the people I'm talking about will most likely simply call me a fanboy and then go back to their hater-troll circle jerk, so, enjoy I guess!

    but ur a f4anboyzzz!!!!!

lol seriously why people are even bitching about Diablo 3 on a Diablo fans site is beyond me, I don,t know for you, but when I despise something I don't go out of my way and visit that particular thing's fan forum ro flame it, I just move on with my life and don,t touch this again... but peeps are stupid I guess...

Don't constantly kite him rapidly around the room, slowly back him through his clouds, so when he releases cloud#2, he's still in the same area he released cloud#1, therefore limiting how much space they actually take up.

don't quite understand, for him to release cloud #2 where cloud#1 is I need to stay in the cloud, wich kills me...
no he said that he(ghom) needs to be where he released cloud 1 when he is realeasing cloud 2, and be where he released cloud 2 when he is releasing cloud 3, so that when you make the full circle around the room, the olds clouds will be disappearing.

ahh ok gonna try it, I try to do smaller steps so the progression is slower but up until now, I never managed to complete a rotation with the old clouds disappearing

try and pump Mirror image instead of DIamond SKin, DS as it is now, is really not worth a skill slot for inferno IMO, and Mirror image is wonderful both at occupying mobs, and it dispells any debuffs you may have (every debuffs of diablo, the succubus thingy, every debuffs A4 mobs put on you, root/freeze/slow, yep everything, combined with illusionist it will be up most of the time to escape jailers, and for vortex just try to have an obstacle between you and the mob, when it's not possible run very far so that you,re not in range for vortex, or hope your mirror images will be vortexed and not you (happens sometimes)

posted a message on Starting HC, Monk or Wiz?
it depends for normal/NM/half of Hell Wiz is clearly the best a 6 sec invincibility on a 15 sec CD is really good, then you jsut have to survive9 sec, Frost nova gives you 3 on whites, and Wave of Force w/ Impactful Wave gives you another 2 wich means that you need to survive 4 sec, but then just be far away, and you Diamond Skin will be off CD by the time they reach you, you can even put Evocation to bring the CD of Diamond Skin to liek 13-14 sec, cutting yet another sec of vulnerability, my first HC was a wiz, had no trouble clearing normal/most of NM with her (currently in A3 NM)

but again I didn't play a lot monk and my first char and main on SC is a wiz, so I know them pretty well

but for later Hell/inferno a well geared monk is best IMO, because for wiz, if you miss a teleport (wich currently is VERY EASY to do) you are most likely dead, while a monk can take a few hits and have a 3 sec invincibility while Diamond Skin looses it's utility in end A3 hell(still pretty good just prolly won't last 6 sec) and in inferno is near useless, since a lot of mobs can one shot you through Diamond Skin while serenity is always good

    Quote from Tatsuya

If you turn on advanced tooltips under options -> gameplay it gives you the percentage.

definitly not, I have them turned on, and for Arcane Dynamo I get that:

''After dealing damage with a signature spell you have a chance to gain a Flash of insight after 5 flashes of insight your next non-signature spell will deal 75% more damage''

and Critical Mass ''Critical hit have a chance to reduce the cooldown on all of your spells by 1 sec''

would love to see the exact % though...

and yeah tooltip are crappy, some cooldowns aren,t even said, like SS/Revenge/Ice/Lightning/Energy armor, etc., plus you can't see how much time is left on your cooldowns, while it dosen,t really matter for short CD like Frost Nova, I would love to see how much downtime my WotB still has...

posted a message on Does MF change what rares you get off an elite?
    Quote from thomasmgp30

For example if I get to 5 stacks of NV and I kill an elite but I have ZERO MF and he drops say 7 items:

    2 yellows: crappy level 50s
    2 Blues: both 62/62
    3 whites: all 62/63

Would haveing a higher MF have made me get 63s instead of those crappy level 50 rares? Or no matter how high my MF is those bad rares that I got wouldnt have changed? I know MF has a chance of turning whites into yellows but does that mean if I had like 400% MF i might have ended up with every item being a rare and getting 7 of them?

Sadly MF dosen't increase the Ilvl of the drops, nor influences rolls, it only like you said take the whites and change it in blue/yellows/orange/green. that said more MF means more yellow items thus an increased chanced of finding good yellows, though chances are you'll still get crappy items, maybe one or 2 of those 60+ white would turn yellow

posted a message on Goblin farming vs normal farming?
    Quote from lorien1973

A boss isn't even 2 champ packs. You can get like 4 rares off a champ pack, but bosses will only drop 2 with a ton of blue items. A boss isn't worth the time investment.

That's why starting an Act near the final boss is the best and then backclear the Act then kill the boss as a cherry on top is most efficients

I actually got 5 rares of a boss quite often with 237%MF

but I do agree the best way to farm IMO is to start at the last quest and go to places that hav either lots of elites, or guarenteed leets, then go kill the boss rinse and repeat, Act1 farm is popular because it's easily farmable with MF gear, and there is 2 ''bosses'' (AKA Warden and Butcher)

posted a message on Am I ready for Act3 Inferno?
farmed Act1 for a while and here is what i'm using:

    Blizzard/Snowbound

    Hydra/Venom Hydra

    Mirror Image/Duplicates

    Magic Weapon/Force Weapon

    Teleport/Wormhole

    Energy Armor/Force Armor

    Glass Cannon/Illusionist/Galvanazing Ward

with 27k HP, 26k DPS, and around 400 resist all (under glasscannon because normally I have like 450-500 to some res)

so can I do Act3 inferno? not looking to farm it yet mind you, just want to see if it's doable with these stats

posted a message on Wizard teleport: limited functionality as designed or bug?
    Quote from misiceman

the key thing about teleport is that it functions like any fast movement ability in the game (leap, vault, etc...).

It is designed so you can cover x distance instantly. There is a range and there are limitations. This is done as these abilities could easily break the game.

The basic limitations are that they must be on the same level of 3d space as you unless it crosses paths with stairs directly ( you need to teleport through that space). The target destination must also be a maximum range from your current position (this is about the same range as a disintegrate).

If it would bypass the 3d space omg the champ packs I could kill with absolute ease. as for the range well I think it could go a little farther but again its in tune with other abilities of this type.

edit: Also there are terrain bugs similar to the old blink bugs in wow. Sometimes when there is a terrain change or you are on the edge of a randomized square in the area you will teleport that far and stop.

    totally invalid argument.

I take the Cursed hold for example. I can be at the top of the door that leads too Halls of agony lvl 3, and teleport down. without going by the stairs. sometimes it works, sometimes it dosen't and the fact that unlike every other movement ability in the game, it has a 16 second cooldown rather than a 15 sec cooldown means IMO it should do something the others don't like, go some places the others don't, or go farther etc, but no it's the least effective movement option, (as said earlier a barb can leap over some things a wizard can't like he can leap from right on top of the door to the cave of aranea to the door below wich is reall farther than 35 yard),

in the halls of agony, there are some places the I am above the champs and they are down, but no immediate stairs near, I can blizzard/Hydra spam all the way and the only thing they can do is their special abilities/except mortar/electrified who dosen't go where I am) AND I can TP/Leap down there and up, making these champion packs laughable totally breaking your argument.

While vault isn't as powerful it dosen't have a CD so that makes up for it, and Spirit walk, wel it breaks any debuffs, snares, freezes, root effects, and leaves a decoy that have 50% of your life behind so while you are running you don't have 25 mobs running after you, so really the one thing I don't understand, is why does a simple breakable objects blocks my path of teleport? it even says in the tooltip ''Teleport throught the ether to your destination up to 35 yards away'', IYAM, when you go through the ether, nothing can block your way, walls, barrels, wallers walls, any obstacle, dosen't exist in the ether. If really they wanted that every little stone in the path blocks your teleport, should have just called it ''blink''...

Really unnaceptable that a melee class that can stand more hits have an evasion ability that works better, on a lesser cooldown, and that do not cost ressource and even grants it, while a ranged class that gets 3-4 shotted in inferno, has one that is less efficient on a longer cooldown AND use ressource (and quite a lot with Wormhole, while in the moddle of battle you probably won't be able to teleport all 4 times anyway especially if you use energy armor(and who dosen't in inferno really))
