As others have said the PC imo is far from going the way of the dinosaur in fact quite the opposite, the majority of people I know whom pre-ordered the 360 didn't even bother with the current-gen consoles which just released because over the years consoles have become increasingly pointless and I expect this to be the last generation of console.

The previous point of a console was the fact PCs didn't used to be so simple, were very expensive and had to be frequently upgraded and all of these issues are not the case these days. Ironically consoles have gone in the opposite direction from a relatively cheap plug n play machine to a quite expensive, constantly updating, installation-requiring machine. There basically a restricted PC that bring no benefit to weigh out the negatives.

I'm kinda confused about this thread... If you feel it's overpriced, don't buy it? It will go down in price over time and you can buy it then.

posted a message on Can blizzard do anything right?
This has been something that has said time and time again and it's simply, ultimately people who are happy about a system will rarely make a post to simply say they are happy while those who are unhappy will make posts complaining about it because they want it changed.

You can never make everyone happy, all Blizzard should do is make the game they want to make using feedback is fine but to alter the game the developers want to make because of feedback isn't.

posted a message on In which way the thorns can be redesigned?
Honestly? I'm perfectly fine with that crusader thorns build being OP, in fact id opt for it to be even stronger because the fact is to get that build to work it needs the right item in every slot, hes basically full best in slot for that build. That's how a diablo game should work, difficult at first but once uve got everything and ure 100% geared for ure build you steamroll the game, it should take a long time before your at the point where you have that level of gear on every slot but that point should exist.

I don't want thorns to become a competitive stat, I like there being stats which are basically pointless unless you build this one certain way and suddenly it becomes OP, having crazy build options like that is what makes a game more fun.

posted a message on Penalties, death... where is it?
I noticed people saying "well just play hardcore" and I have to say this is the most ridiculous response i've ever seen basically the expansion has 2 modes, hand holding and extreme. I am neither of those, I don't want Blizzard to hold my hand and tell me it's ok when I make a mistake but I don't want them to get out an axe and cut of a limb when I make a mistake either, I want something in the middle. I want there to be some time loss either through losing xp/gold or dropping down a few floors in a tower or through needing to get my corpse back etc.

All in all, this mostly comes not from people wanting punishment for death but reward for survival as it should be, if you do well you should be rewarded. The better you do, the higher the level of play the more reward there should be and the only real way of doing that is to create punishment for failures. Somebody who dies 20 times in 1 game shouldn't receive basically the same reward per time spent as someone who doesn't die once. On top of this punishment for failure causes you to try harder, to learn and improve to look into better ways of putting ure build together or certain types of gear etc. Why would I bother doing all of that if it simply didn't make a difference?

posted a message on What is Diablo if you can`t farm Bosses for 3 hours
For me, what I enjoyed about boss runs was finding the most efficient way of running through certain zones before having a 1v1 with a mob far more challenging than your average mob (While i'll agree, d2 bosses weren't exactly hard had then been it would of been all the better) and then getting an explosion of loot. The faster you was at moving through the zone and overcoming the boss battle the more reward per hour and this for me was the challenge and all together it made it fun, it's a very different game play experience to clearing out a room of monsters and then opening a bag.

Now that's not to say rifts and bounties are bad, it's just that there's no variety in d3. The goal and actions are currently just the same you clear a bunch of monsters followed by a semi-boss type monster and get some loot. In D2 you had countess runs (runes), boss runs (mostly for uniques, but certain item types dropped more commonly from certain bosses), gold runs (town council), xp runs (chaos/baal), crazy runs (cows), high ilvl runs (caves etc.), forge runs and key runs. All of these were very different, and also required a differently built character in order to complete efficiently which made you want to build the gold find barbs, light sorc, meteorb, hammerdin, zealadin, whirlwind, conc, summoner, psn nova, javazon, nado druid etc. These lists go on, this is just off the top of my head.

Basically the thing I think people want is just more to do, no matter what you call it or how you dress it up if all your doing is clearing waves of monsters people will get bored and on top of that the amount of viable builds will decrease, more types of game play allows for more types of builds because ull get certain builds good at one thing and bad at the other. Do you think half of the d2 builds out there would exist and be considered viable if the entire game centered around clearing waves of mobs instead of all the different options there actually are?

It's been agreed upon by many many people that have done the math that for ww dual-wield is far superior, while maybe showing less on-screen damage everything else will be better. It looks like you're on a budget so I would go with a MH Mace/OH EF, then get ure 2.51 aps breakpoint with zerker up and u should never have fury problems.

It's defiently a good idea to get a SoJ, the "+% dmg to elites" gives more damage per % than crit chance when fighting elites, +6% cold damage slows them to make the EF fear less of an issue while giving a nice damage buff, I recommend getting a 6/30 before focusing on what skill is on the ring.

Oh, another thing is theres something people call the "mini-CM scoundrel" or "freeze scoundrel" where u equip him with a buriza-do kyanon (priority is pierce chance > freeze chance), star of azkaranth (get highest freeze chance u can) and then some ias/health/resistance rings n stuff and basically coupled with his multi-shot he can freeze entire packs while u just mow them down.

Those are three kind of factual, mathematically agreed upon things but something I personally feel is if ure on a budget running IK belt + LS EF (for 5.5 - 6% LS) lets u drop Bloodthirst for Tough As Nails which is a HUGE survivability buff and as ure only aiming for 2.51 bp u don't need that much ias anyway. It also lets u roll some rare gloves which you can get a really nice pair fairly cheap due to most ppl going for IKs so overall you lose next to no actual damage and gain a massive buff on survivability.

this is my barb - http://eu.battle.net...502/hero/125749 running the ideas given and as you can see my fury is so easy to maintain i don't even run bash anymore, he can do mp10 blind folded and all for a fair budget of around 1.5b.

Hope this helps I spent quite a lot of time researching when I geared my barb ^_^

/e if you consider doing what i've recommended and dropped the wh for ik belt and skorn for mace/ef you would need to obtain 33% ias without wotb, which means that when looking into rare gloves you want atleast 8% ias.

/e also just noticed ure running war cry, I would say run overpower with killing spree instead, +10% crit chance is insane and if you have what i've recommended you would have gained nearly 100 resist and 1000 armor so you don't need that war cry anymore.

the whole "buyout for bid price" is real.

Ah well, atleast Activision-Blizzard being the excellent and customer friendly company that it is, surely it reimbursed all those who lost gold or even real life money due to a bug within there system... Oh look a flying pig :P

posted a message on Inferno nerf incoming
The issue is, inferno is 100% doable by every class but u basically need these stats, use these skills and play this style. If I have to be pure tank to solo inferno as a barb, then inferno is broken. I dnt care if nerfing it so much that melees can go dps and do it means tanks do it easy, this isn't an esport it's a game for fun and I should be able to charge in with a giant flaming axe and clobber things without getting 1 shot cus i dnt have a shield...

I've finished inferno on a barb, DH and wizard.. With barb it wasn't hard but god was it boring. Before I hit inferno I was having more fun with barb than any of the other classes smashing through stuff, then i got to inferno and I had to drop from like 19k dps to bout 7k as I went almost pure tank/LpH just so I could kill stuff and it went from insane fun to total boredom and it wasn't even hard just long and dull. This patch will mean I can play my barb how there meant to be played and I welcome it :D.
