d3 used to be locked @ 60 fps no matter what refresh rate your monitor/rig supported
That's correct. The game's engine is bound to 60 world updates per second. There's a memory value for that, increasing or decreasing which causes the game to speed up\slow down and go out of sync with the server
Older game engines used to be programmed that way. I was hoping Warcraft 3 (bound to 64 fps) would be the last one I'd see...

With this new change they increased the frame rate allowed making for smoother game play.
"They didn't. It was the first thing I checked after downloading the PTR. The game is still choppy when running at 75Hz and 75 fps for example."
Did you try to disable/enable vsync? My 144hz monitor doesn't come till tomorrow so i can't verify yet. Most of the people on reddit are reporting a huge improvement in gameplay. Also try to enable vsync and set your frame rate to 60, see if that works...someone on reddit says it helped them.
Gsync works on live. It's not dependent on the engine to work. I play lots of older games with Gsync enabled no problems.
It's not a matter of if gsync worked or not its a question of framerate. I think, what i gather from what everyone is saying, is that d3 used to be locked @ 60 fps no matter what refresh rate your monitor/rig supported. With this new change they increased the frame rate allowed making for smoother game play.
Given the fact that i only played necro in d2 i will be ecstatic if they do release the necro in a new expansion/major content patch(it will most likely be an expansion). Can't wait to play him!
I just woke up from a dream and it was 10pm when i woke up. I vaguely remember the dream but as soon as i woke up i was thinking about a diablo strategy game for some reason. There have been numerous rumors about a diablo mobile game, a diablo racing game or that it will be an elder-scrolls type of game. What i haven't really heard is the idea that diablo will be made into a strategy game. Now there are also rumors around saying that the next diablo game wont be your typical diablo game and maybe they will take diablo down the strategy road?
Just think of it...it could be reminiscent of warcraft 3 in which your heroes have an items inventory of some sort. Maybe you have to work with other players to slay demons using the different classes that are available. Now im not sure if you would have other units at your disposal but the strategy aspect would be more along the lines of, like in warcraft 3, you would have to play with your team against another team working toward the same goal. Say kill the other team or maybe a capture the flag type of map.
As stated above there could be different scenarios you have to accomplish in which you need to slay varying difficulties of demons, all while keeping the other team at bay, to get items and complete the objective. This is all just speculation but i think it would be pretty damn cool if this came to be true. It would fill the void of pvp at least for diablo. Diablo could fit easily into the strategy genre of games. Your thoughts?
As someone who has contemplated suicide in the past i thank you for your drive to help people get the help they need. I was 6 years airforce and in my fifth year went manic(I'll spare you the details). I was diagnosed with schizoaffective disorder which is a combination of schizophrenia and bipolar. I've thought about suicide 4 times now but someone(the big man upstairs) was watching out for me and I never went through with it. People who commit suicide are usually suffering from some form of mental illness that has never been treated or that has made them give up hope for a quick way out of the hardship that medication brings or other types of hardships that come from mental illness.
I know firsthand that life with a mental disorder is super difficult to cope with and thank you again for help making people who suffer this way a ray of hope for the future. Thank you, nick.
I just find it interesting that they are promoting the diablo bundle on the german main splash page right before blizzcon...is d3 new to Germany or something?
Exellion makes some really good analysis and theories of why there is still hope for diablo @ blizzcon. Brings up some interesting points based off of the floormap and schedule for diablo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mcvWTDCigYM
Chiefly is the fact that blizzard hid whats on floor 2...also the diablo booth doesnt have to be as large as the overwatch and hots sections as both are 5v5 and 6v6 respectively and they need more pc's to play even a fraction of they can do w/ diablo(which is 1 player). Hype is real.
The UI designer will work closely with the lead UI designer, art director, and game designers to conceptualize the visual style and interactive experience for Diablo 3 and any future projects with the franchise.
Notice how it says for Diablo 3 here...proof of a future expansion? Most likely.
Next is the senior interface designer:
This individual helps to define and execute the interactive and artistic vision of the user interface for all Diablo games.
It says, "all Diablo games", whether this is for diablo 1 and 2 as well, or simply for diablo 3 and all future games is yet to be seen(but the hype is there for Diablo 1 and 2 remakes as it says, "all".
There's also a "technical artist, rigging" and that is more bland as it simply states that he/she will work on all things Diablo related.
Thoughts guys? I think this will be an exciting blizzcon for Diablo
mrllama said that they arent to say anything about the announcement until tomorrow :). Quin even said that theres no announcement today as this is media day.

I guess d3 now supports dx11, gsync, and has updated graphics settings(multisample aa and ssao). Make sure to cap your frame rate just below your monitors frame rate if your monitor supports a higher refresh rate(144-165 hz).

Ill give you that but ill just go back to playing d2 if there is no announcement. Theres a diablo 2 mod coming for starcraft 2(the alpha starts in august) to play if nothing else so we'll be able to get some satisfaction either way. https://www.facebook.com/thecurseoftristram/?fref=ts https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-aLHqSs70s
