posted a message on Higher T-Levels inbound?
    Quote from shaggy
There was a pretty good discussion on reddit today about how the scaling of monsters, particularly in T5/6, is actually what kills build diversity. From that perspective, I'd really not like to see further difficulties added. People who want ePeen should be trying to get further in Greater Rifts. What Torment you run on is no longer the measuring stick for dick size.
I think that's exactly right. That's part of the appeal to 2.0's difficulty setup. You can run fun or less than perfectly optimal builds and still run in Torment I and have access to pretty much everything. For those who want to run The One True Build and faceroll T6, there's Greater Rifts. Great improvement over Vanilla, where if you wanted level 62 drops, you had to be able to survive in Inferno, which limited build diversity a lot.

The option to stay level 60 is "don't buy RoS" or "Don't play this character anymore." Simple.

    Best decision ever by Blizzard.

Goodbye AH, bots, 3rd party websites, d2jsp, crap, etc...

(some minor forms of the above will still persist though...)
Just wait, "Selling 3x legendaries of your stat preference $5"

Can see it now, it isn't going to be hard to sell legendaries, me and a few friends are already planning a way to gear up our toons, 4 wizards play, all good wiz legendaries go to one, then we swap to monk etc etc....
So, how's that going to work? You going to bring them in game live with you in your group, and hope stuff drops, or what, since new leggies, including anything above level 60, is BoA other than for two hours to the group it dropped in?

This is why there's BoA, so they won't be sold on D2JSP. And I can't see there being much demand for rares there, either, with current drops.

Good riddance, AH. I won't miss you. We should have had 2.0's drops and crafting on launch.

You sounded like a great idea, but, in practice, you screwed up everything.

posted a message on Loot 2.0 did not change a thing
My only comment about Loot 2.0: I think I've already spent more playtime on PTR+live 2.0 than I did on Vanilla D3. It's just a lot more fun, imo.

If you aren't having fun with the changes, and want D3V and the AH back? Sorry, you'll have to find another game. That one's gone. Have a good time, but it's time to let D3 go, OP.

    Quote from Rubberneck

I think i`ve seen one at Fields of Misery. Instead of the Resplendant Chest with the mini-boss tree(or elite?) there was a cursed chest.
Yeah, instead of the tree trap, it had a cursed chest.

Once more, something is taken out because the self-proclaimed 'best players' just can't resist exploiting something to avoid playing the game.

posted a message on Life Steal Question!!
Lifesteal was too overpowered and too many builds absolutely depended on it to keep glass cannons alive...so they nerfed it, more or less killed it.

    Have to build differently now.

Yeah, sounds like a fair solution. If the seller already paid, change the bind and let it sell, but if it didn't sell, send it back, and don't let any more post.

    Good handling of it, imo.

posted a message on About Whimsyshire and the new dificulty
You can run Whimsyshire at any level, if you have any version of the staff. Mobs auto-match your level, just like they do in the rest of the world. I ran it at level 7 on my Monk just to test this, and it worked perfectly. Difficulty only changes how hard they hit, how hard they are to kill, and usually number of elite packs.

I could use the Nightmare staff at 60 or at 7, so I don't think you need any more than the original staff anymore.

I decided to make a new toon, to see how the leveling would go once the Crusader was released. This game has become a lot more fun on the leveling grind. Im currently level 45, havent even finished Act 1 yet. Its so nice to know that you dont have to replay the game over and over to get to level 60 anymore. Its fast, its fun, and its nice actually going slow and checking out every nook and cranny in each zone. It feels like the old diablo for once. Definitely loving this patch.....except for Odeg, F that guy!
45 levels in act 1? Say what?
Probably on Master, or even Torment I. Expert makes you about 30 end of Act I, and (in my experience) 60 or damned close by Diablo, in one pass. Master should have you 60 pre-Diablo. Don't have a feel for the Torment leveling curve, as it's not my 'fun' play area. YMMV. :D

This is actually RoS but without the contents of RoS unlocked yet. I think Crusader items will be dropping just like in the PTR. This is the best method to do it having everything loaded and ready to go for RoS to launch quite smoothly. We might still get a patch or two before RoS is out.
Yeah, it gives them a month to find any bugs involved with actually patching the live database versus starting clean like PTR and copying in characters from a snapshot of the live DB. Should make RoS launch more of s 'switch on the new content' rather than a 'launch event' like D3V was. Much like they've done with WoW the last two expansions.

posted a message on "A" Dev did not know about lvling 0-60 in roughly 15 minutes...
I don't have a problem with people doing the described quick leveling to 60. I won't use it myself, but, if you want to do it, that's fine.

What I *do* have a problem with is people doing this then they come whining to the forums about being bored and having nothing to do. Don't skip over 50+ levels and then bitch about being bored. Was always my pet peeve in MMOs when people would level as fast as they could to max level, burn through all the raid content available, and then whine that the new expansion or the game had no content, while the average players who didn't do it that way weren't even halfway to max level yet.

So, use the powerlevel if you want, but don't come crying to us if you get bored because of it.

I downloaded the patch ...took about 90 minutes. I'm surprised to see the Reaper of Souls screen when you load D3, however.....
Watch out. You might wanna restart things (pc, launcher, internet, close agent.exe process) and make sure you actually updated.

I was getting that same RoS log-in (splash, title, whatever) screen that you're seeing when launching the "updated" game. And it had to download the entire thing again.

But even now after this "2nd update" is done, I'm still getting the RoS log-in screen. I just hope it's not broken and actually works when the servers go live. Just a heads-up.
I had the RoS screen for non-beta PTR. Mine with pre-downloaded patch and no patch loop has the RoS login screen on it as well.
