posted a message on How do married men play D3?
Forgot to mention... for most females (not all, but I'm talking most so don't give me hate for saying "My GF loves games etc.... or... I'm a female and have played games for blahblahblah etc..) they can't stand computer games.

Trying to get them into it when they clearly are not is a lost cause and usually doesn't end well.

For my wife, it would be like her trying to get me into shopping and make up. Its just not going to happen. Just leave it out, its a guy thing... (mostly :) )

Well your kind of asking 2 questions... how do I 'get permision' and how do I 'find time'

I'm married with a 2 year old girl.

Getting permision depends on your relationship. For me, I was into games when I first met my wife and the issue came up once when we were well into our relationship and living together, but before getting married. I was honest with her, telling her that I'm really into gaming and that will never change and if you dont like it then we cant move forward. Never had any issues since. Of course I'm not a dickhead and play all the time, I'm a husband and father first.

As for finding time, thats actually the hard part now with a daughter. Most days I'm up at 5am with my daughter and between her, work and house duties that doesnt end until about 7-8pm.

From there its make some dinner and then I'll pay games for a couple of hours while my wife watches some TV, then its off to bed.

One thing I did find that made things a little easier was putting the computer in the bedroom. We have a TV in there that my wife watches, while I'll be on the computer. We aren't doing the same thing but we're haging out together.

Playing X360 in the lounge room for the same amount of time tends to get up her nose more than me doing the exact same thing in the bedroom... go figure.

posted a message on I check the news section of diablofans once every few weeks. Wh...why do the armor sets make players look like futuristic robots
    Quote from Valtonis

nearly all of them look totally crap.

    too much WoW influence.
high level armors in Diablo should be like those in D2.
still have some semblance of being realistic and not over the top cartoon

I couldnt agree more with this and the OP. Summed it up perfectly.

Mostly, I think I'll be using the hiding dye to keep the wanker armour looking less... wankish.

I like it! Like you said, I think at higher levels this build will fall behind as the dogs can only do so much, but this would be fun to watch dogs and frogs causing chaos with the confused enemy... that then turn into more dogs.

If it wasn't for the 4 dog cap, this kind of build would be much more viable at higher levels.

Axes! I just love the look of dual wielding axes on the Barbarian.

(My first character in D2, was called 'axeman' & he was a dual wielding Barb with axes. I've since used this persona for all gaming for the last 10 years)

posted a message on The Skill System
Hi everyone, I’m new to these forums and hoping you guys can shed some light on something I just cant get my head around.

    Its the new Skill System.

Basically, looking over the Skill Progression several things come to mind.

1 – For the first 7 levels you don’t actually have any skill options. Technically you get new skills every level, but it’s just unlocking a new skill tree or a rune skill, so short of simply not using it you don’t really have any options at all you just get them. Won’t everyone’s character be the same until level 8?

2 – As you level higher you get more skills/runes to choose from, but if said skills/runes are better than the last one what’s the point? Wont you simply use the next one up the ladder every time you level up, or will level 1 Rune skills also level up?

3 – I notice at certain levels you are given the option of 2 passive skills which is great, but this doesn’t happen with any other skills so again when you level up you just pick the newer more powerful skill/rune which isn’t really levelling up at all since all the monsters get more powerful anyway and you’d be mad to keep the old less powerful skill.

I must be getting this all wrong, because right now the skill system looks ridiculous to me.
    Thanks.
