May 7, 2012Only concerns I see are a lack of any single target damage and mana regen. Mana can probably be taken care of by items further down the road but you might want at least one direct damager, say, Darts+runeofchoice. Otherwise, if your group members are willing to drop some of their CC for more potential dps, this might work.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
May 7, 2012Hintermute posted a message on Diablo 3 MF system: What do you think about high level characters having an advantage when looking for low level gear? The question, i think, is whether a 60 will find farming rares in normal or nightmare even profitable compared to grinding gold in hell/inferno. If and when I make it there, being level 60, hunting for champion packs to oneshot for a mediocre chance at a perfectly rolled blue/rare/unique, however superior to someone there for xp in addition, is pretty boring. There gold drops will be mediocre, the eq personally useless except for AH sale, and no challenge whatsoever. If you want to do normal SK runs when you beat hell though, be my guest.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
May 7, 2012No exp boost for four players.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Speed is a slightly different question. with four players the monsters have 375% the health so in theory they should go down more quickly, therefore faster progression. However four minds are not as coordinated as one mind leaving me to think that it's pretty dependent on the group's skill both singularly and as a whole.
XP wise, loot is also shares the same conundrum. If you are trading somewhat openly with your group members, there is a chance that someone else might get something that you *could* use. Loot could then be interpreted as superior if sharing is going on. if everyone is exclusively selfish, then no better than playing solo.

I think it's going to be best having a balanced squad, looking forward to running my Bard around with a witch doctor or vice versa having a bard there to tank with someone else to spread the combat and provide some extra targets and slow enemies will be a great way to deal with enemies.
Also regarding that rush to inferno, good luck with that, looking at the monster HP/Damage on inferno, you are going to have to get to a point where you can one hit monsters on hell before you can tackle inferno... and that is just to be able to hurt things and last longer than a couple of hits.
I'm not sure if i will see inferno at least this year, seems like you will have to grind hell for like forever, unless you have the cash to burn on RMAH... and i dare say that is the plan.
Um, there's no Bard class in D3 afaik, j/k Now, that could be interesting though. Pure support, and maybe a steel flute to jab the eyes of demons with. Would certainly win this poll hands down.

Looking at a mostly (in order of emphasis) dps/cc WD for solo, and support/cc/dps when grouped. Also playing with the Red panda semi-serious group but for a full group or whatever I'm fine with other players.
Will also be playing on release night(morning 2am cst), expect me to be a little derpy, I enjoy the standard green handicap. Not completely worthless though, dozen or so 90+ d2 characters first half being non-cookie cutter builds, so I have *some* grasp of my mental faculty regardless.
May 7, 2012In ref to the first version, the second I do not like quite as much for lack of darts.Posted in: Witch Doctor: The Mbwiru Eikura
My planned play style is pointing to a similar build and mana is a concern of mine as well. I think mana on hit/kill and mana leach could potentially replace vision quest allowing for something else, maybe spiritual attunement for +max mana and regen. Maintaining the 4 cooldowns I just see as mentally distracting but I'm no ultramicromanager.
With Darts+Splinters and Soul harvest (with Swallow your soul instead) some mana is taken care of, and if you replace the zombie charger with haunt you can still get some life regen meaning you can get both life and mana and a dps boost.
Imagine the 5stack bonus to damage, haunt an enemy and then nail him with splinters, potentially more focused damage than spamming chargers. Synergizes some with pierce the veil too, as you're spamming an already pretty vicious high repetition volley of darts. (chargers 236%9yd aoe Versus. aroung 360%fm darts plus 1150% over 12 sec fm haunt (in total about 450%dps give or take)) Aaaaand, relatively minor mana cost in comparison.
the wall of zombies also has potential to act as CC if necessary with a change of rune.
If health become more of an issue than mana, then a swap back to siphon is an easy fix.
This is why I like this build, a bit more adaptable than many I've seen otherwise. The only weakness is without permanent pets to distract, the CC may not be enough for dangerous packs later on.
Maybe the only other weakness of this build lies in synergizing with other players in a group. It's doable but not without revision to probably at least 3 or 4 skills. Here's a mildly thought out group version if you're curious. Also at level 37, so with some rune tweaks you could easily use this in nightmare. Haunt is also good to swap out for some other dps spam like firebats of some sort.

So, I totally agree with everyone who thinks this is ridiculous. We have no idea the context in which that damage takes place - namely how effective armor is, out return damage, etc. Like someone basically said before, some people are complaining that the game is both too easy and too hard before it's even come out! Blizzard should just change their company motto to, "Damned if we do, damned if we don't."
But, I have a hypothetical question for everyone. If, in the best or near best gear and items the game has to offer, you are still getting one shot by regular monsters or non-telegraphed boss moves (ie even if you can take it, you should move out of the SK WW), do you think Inferno should be retuned? I would personally say yes. There's no need to "nerf" anything - just do a reevaluation of the numbers. I'm excited for the agony of dying in Inferno and the thrill of finally progressing, but there's an extent to which difficult content remains fun.
Even better, rename Diablo 3 to "A Tribute To Joseph Heller."

If someone tells me how X dies or how deus-ex-machina Y resolves the story's conflict I smile and pretend I'm a little retarded. Problem solved.
May 6, 2012Most curious coincidence since WD then barb at is my intended play order though DH was the planned third, then monk, then wiz.Posted in: Diablo III General Discussion
Reminds me of the old Ultima games' character creation questionnaire. Fun throwback. I had some issue picking the book though, all of them being decent reading.

is english your 2nd or 8th language, hopefully it isnt your first.
alos this thread doesnt seem to be very relevent unless your just gloating you have a decent comp wich really isnt a gloat point.
The point is to draw out people with mediocre computers to make fun of, e.g. ME.
I'm playing on medium/low settings with a GTS 250, Athlon X2 7750 Black, and 4G ram, and an old 21" CRT. At this point an upgrade entails mobo/proc/mem/vga.. Plays fine on high settings until the jar of souls or similar encounter, then down to crap fps. So, low settings (1280x1024) keep me above 30 all the time, and 75 otherwise.
