Just knock it off guys. You are starting to sound like a bunch of sore losers.

@ Lt and Reptar- too little too late. When you posted your number in the thread and hoped to win, didn't you see any problems then? Why didn't you complain? Surely you must have realized what your competition was. By your own logic, secard shouldn't be giving this SC2 key here at all because he couldn't have contributed much according to you (what with 7 posts and all). He still said he liked the place and that was a good enough reason...until he gave it away to another member with a low post count that is.

Still, I think secard basically shoved his own face into dung the moment he mentioned his 2 year rule, but he made up for it by actually considering half the users' posts in this thread who didn't meet the requirement. The 2 year rule served its purpose in the end. No user registered on this site just for the key, like was seen in the other giveaway-beta-key thread.

The 2 year rule was mostly to scare away people from just registering on the spot and raffling. I would have been fairly lenient.

Incidentally I got another friend invite, so I am giving the runner up the key.

So congratulations to zhuge for the entry of 333.

Oh wait everyone, let me check with Umpa65 to make sure I am allowed to.

I'm not bashing you or anything, I'm simply being honest. You said you wanted to give back to a community that is by far the best source for Diablo information by raffling away a Beta key to a deserving user with 2 years experience. I can't help but think this is just another user taking advantage of an opportunity and will probably not contribute anything. Nothing against that person but, coming from someone who has been here for more than 2 years (this is my second account), I have never seen that person post ever despite the 10 count.
Without members we don't have a website. weather they have contributed a lot or few. Simply This was my way of giving back to the community, and I don't care if you think it is right or not. I am not going to go out of my way to make a raffle, and then make small anal rules to make sure the utmost deserving are only allowed. I just asked for contribution to the website and I see being a registered member for an amount of time substantial enough. I am sorry you don't see it that way.

Yeah, that is kind of unfair. I am eligible since I have put a lot of work towards the wiki. Others have contributed a lot, but 10 post is hardly anything at all. Basically high enough to allow certain privileges.

This is not a game of who has done more, otherwise it would not have been a raffle and just a give away to who had the best resume. This site would not exist if it weren't for the people who have registered to it, no matter how much or how little they contribute. This was not a competition of who has done more, this was a raffle for people supporting a website that I enjoy. And by there support, they too have helped this site, whether it's donating there time to the wiki, or just being a member. Plain and simple.

    Quote from Lt. Venom
Hhhm...You do realize that person has not really been apart of the community right? He may have joined that many years ago but he only has 10 posts. Food for thought.

I have only made 7 or 8 posts my self. Just because I don't regularly post does not mean that I don't check this site regularly. And it especially dose not imply my willingness to give back to the community as I am giving away a free beta invite that I could have gave to anyone for any reason. Instead I choose to give it to a member who is sporting this site. Again no matter how little or small.

If joe the plumber comes to me, comes to me, with an estimate for a job and completion time. But 6 times out of 6 he has to push the completion time back by a hell of a long time. Do you think Im going to hire him a 7th time?

Honestly, I would be a idiot to hire him back, and thats where Iam will my relationship with Blizzard. Do I keep being the waiting fool till Im 50 years old and too late, or do I learn from my mistakes and move on with my life?

It sucks, and I hate that Blizzard is forcing me to make these decisions with their product, due solely to poor release date information.

    P.S.

Trust me, I dont like to bitch about this. Im not trying to troll. But I really feel slighted this time around. Again. I think the whole age thing is playing into it also these days.

I fail to see the connection between a plumbers service you have paid for, and a video game you have not paid for. Blizzard dose not owe anything to you. Either they make the game or they don't, either they tell you about it or they don't. The only relation to a plumber and his work, and a video game would be a question of quality. If the plumber performs poorly you would not ask him back. likewise if a game is pushed out and has low quality, you probably would not bother buying it, or be interested in a squeal. If blizzard feels they need X amount of time to make a game to their standers, and there standers have pleased you in the past, then let them do what they want to do. And let them announce what they are doing when they want to.

And honestly what the dose this mean? do all you do when a game is announced is clear your schedule for the next however many years until it comes out and simply wait!? Go do the things you would have done if you "moved on". then simply come back and play the game when it's out. I mean come on, it's simple logic.

What decision are they forcing you to make? Is waiting for a game to release life threatening or something? Do you plan on quitting your job/family when it comes out? The only factor I can think of that is reasonable to assume is that you will buy or build a new computer for the game, But you don't have to do that while the game is still not out, and it is better to buy/build when the game is released.

    Quote from "Dagget" »
Its like they enjoy release date push-backs BECAUSE IT MAKE THE FOLKS LIKE YOU FANBOYS STAND UP FOR THEIR FUTILITY, you people back them up, so they dont even have to. Dont you get it, by accepting it, you allow it. Simple as that.

By accepting a games push back date we allow it.....? So what do you suggest other then waiting patiently? should we take to the streets and picket? That should make them not mess up anymore! Are we supposed to go around and make angry posts on there site? Yah that will teach them! Oh wait, lets not buy there game that we have been waiting for to play, this inevitably giving them the cold shoulder and then they go out of business and we don't have to wait for another one of there grate games that we like to play to come out! So your right, we should not allow them to release there intelligent property to us any latter then said given dates! .... How do we do that exactly? persuade them that they need to do things your way? and then when the game comes out and they have not put the quality you expect in it in the game sue them!

It's simple, by "allowing" them to do what they do... they make what they make.

I can see why game delays are frustrating, but stating that a video game company should be held liable, and judged, by miss announcing a completion date in the same way as a plumber would be shallow and entirely missing the point.

It's people like you that piss me off. Sorry to be so blunt but you guys are the ones that ruin it for us who have patience and understanding. Boo hoo, it's not coming out yet. It's because of people like you we get as little info that we do. "how dare unforseen circumstances happen". You can only plan for so much and if it doesn't work then you have to push release dates back which they never even officially gave us. I commend blizzard for not releasing bad games in favor of release dates. As for announcing games early. It is a reasonable and well designed marketing plan. Getting "buzz" generated about your product is always good. If you don't want to hear about then choose not too. Why get rid of it when other people do want to hear about it. And all the money in the world won't buy you a good game, talent does. And if you hire too many people then there is to much confusion. If you hate blizzard and what they do then stop complaining and stop playing their games and go play the numerous half assed games that are out there. And you are too old for what? To realize the world isn't perfect. If you are too old for anything then you need to grow up.

I for one can wait for better quality. I am upset, yes, but not mad.

Have to agree. It is hard to find a company that takes there time in this field. Besides, blizzard dose not owe me anything, It's an aggravating wait, but honestly such is life, and I can wait. I am glad blizzard still stands strong on the way they do things, because it works. And I would much rather know that they are working on the game rather then going back to reading the same speculating boring posts.

posted a message on Logical Drops
anyone play titan quest? This is actually how they handle drops. I personally don't mind aether way. I like slaying a hole army and picking through lots of random crap to see if I got anyhting good reguardless of what may have dropped it. But a cool feature I will point out that titan quest used was that not only did the type of item that the enemy was using drop for looting (mostly common types) but if the enemy had a rare or unique peace on, this actually was used by the monster. It was fun running through hoards of creatures and seeing one with a shinny flashy "different" looking item and thinking "pay day!" this also applied to amulets rings armors and anyhting else (though you can't see the jewelry) and you don't even really notice that the items are being dropped "logically" unless you pay attention, the variety of monster classes blended together well.

And when it came to boss fights usually there was a chest or stash some where that was sealed until the current boss was defeated, logically letting any very high item drop. witch might not fit the diablo feeling, but dose make a little more sense

like I said I don't think I mind ether way.... but giant suits of battle armor dropping off of a swarm of insects just incorporates the feel of diablo to me

    skeletons arent scary at all.

policemen are scary. think about it... we give them so much power over us... what if they misuse it?

So skeleton Policemen would be scary then? lol

Agree with OP though, Logically skeletons just don't make sense, and they tend to be the easiest foe's in games. Things that could be possible or believable on some level are much scarier.

HEY, This is my first post! and I joined almost 3 years ago! :o
