    1.05 is hitting

I think to run whirlwind is going to be more gear intensive but if your running at mp 1 it will be easier then act 3 was or you can run act 3 at mp 0

(at one point I checked on ptr and you will not have a chance at the key from the guy at stonefort but the rest of the mobs items do drop with ilvl 63 affixes)

I would suggest running act 1 which you have done a lot (I know its boring) at mp 1 and kill the goat in fields of misery for keys (at mp 1 might take upwards of 10 runs) after these runs you might actually find some upgrades or find you want to give two hand a try due to the changes of the whirl wind proc coefficent.

I would work on getting to act 2 then work on act 3
vault of the assassin is amazing and there are a lot of lol kite the world into my tornados.
Mobs are fast and keep up with you as you run to the next group (a minus to every other class but awesome for you)
You might want to avoid wasps especially with cleave as your generator but still should have pretty good mob density just not as good mob density as act 3.

You need to increase your effective health, alot of the budget barbs will tell you to focus all on one stat on an item and make up for that stat on another piece.

I wouldn't spend your money on items but buy some gold, I don't know how EU is going but gold should be cheap and you can probably find good enough gear for 200-300 k (i put upgrades for your items up for cheaper then that and they do not move on the US.)

If your dying you want to increase your effective health
shoot for around 30k with 500 all resist (minimum)

    If you still die
    drop brawler

are you dying to crap on the ground or fireballs?
    pick up superstition
if not pickup the 25% ac or extra ac for vit whichever gives you more ac

Item wise your trying to get a crit heavy build working without crit, if WotB is dropping alot (which i bet it is) the gloves and neck will give you the most bump.

Its hard to say exactly what you should change because alot of pieces are just sub par. I would probably look to redo your chest and legs with a HEAVY focus on vit armor and resist all. (Don't even bother looking for strength) as alot of your pieces lack vit and have tons of str.

your total str is ok but you lack the crit and weapon dmg (torando's from run like the wind are the primary source of dmg and do not care about the off hand, you have probably seen people recommend a stat stick in the offhand)

read some of the gearing a barb on a budget threads would be my recommendation

    Focus on act 2
    canyon
    road to alcurus
    vault

just rinse and repeat (you can lengthen or shorten the run with some more waypoints like sewers, killing zulton kul though I wouldn't bother with belial, to long of a run)

    PS
With the 1.05 changes coming soon whirlwind is going to be harder to pull off you might just want to hold off for the time being or focus on armor pieces as you might flip to a 2 hander charge and rend build.

The additional loot only being on white mobs that successfully dropped an item seems like it will need some testing to confirm it acts as advertised.

I'm going to wager it could trigger off killing members of an elite pack or minions.

(Just not the last member of the elite pack that has the guaranteed drops)

I'm sure someone will figure it out, but ultimately (to bring it back on topic) the sweet spot in 1.05 will be on drops per min.
This is different then rares per minute - which is helped alot by the guaranteed rare.

I think what loroese is saying is that the observed increase in 6 property drops for the guaranteed rare did not live up to a 10% chance to be a 6 property rare.

Every rare does not have a 10% chance to be 6 property.

Next time an elite drops 1 rare and your at 5 stacks go ahead and id it and you will quickly figure out how much trash that guaranteed rare is. Its just one more item. While it can roll 6 prop it has as much of a chance as all those white and blues you passed by.

    Random thought

Grim harvest will probably receive some love if it does get affected by the extra drop but will still be bad.

After some more testing over lunch I was able to get a 2nd key to drop.

It is possible to farm up multiple keys without crafting the infernal machine.

I was trying to find out if you can farm up multiple keys for the same act at a time.

I want to farm up several keys for an act before moving on to the next act.

    I was thinking of doing:

    Act 3
alkaizers route in act 3 ending with stone fort
    Act2
vota act 2 ending in oasis
    Act 1
Starting in a festering woods cave ending with whatever that zone was with the goat.

Farm up a number of keys craft 3 machines and try and get some organs.

Google has not been very helpful with the question of if you can have multiple keys from the same warden in your inventory.

    On the PTR
I was able to get a key but after a few runs I was not able to get a second key. (MP 5)

Could someone please clarify if you can have multiple keys in your inventory or do we have to create the machine before a key would drop again.

I can't clear things on mp10 (well i guess I could bust out the tank gear) so it's hard to tell if its rng or due to the fact I already have a key.

    Thanks for the help.

I think the much higher 6 affix / legendary is going to come from the extra drop.
(did the magic find thread every figure out the number of drops for normal mobs vs elites?)

I'm curious if the extra item is really an extra item or an extra pot of gold/potion as well (making it less good)

The multiple posts saying that mp 0 act 3 mobs will have 63 fixes is correct
-tested it last night on ptr and it works just fine.

As far as efficient farming goes I was trying to find out if you can farm up multiple keys for the same act at a time.
alkaizers route in act 3 ending with stone fort
vota act 2 ending in oasis
Starting in a festering woods cave ending with whatever that zone was.

farm up like 9 keys in an act instead of flopping around between acts messing up the checkpoint.

I was able to get a key but after a few runs I was not able to get a second key.

Could someone please clarify if you can have multiple keys in your inventory or do we have to create the machine before a key would drop again (google has been very unhelpful for this info)

I can't clear things on mp10 (well i guess I could bust out the tank gear) so it's hard to tell if its rng or due to the fact I already have a key.

You will have to farm the organs several times if your not on mp10

    So the farm looks like
farm up three sets of 3 keys
    make three infernal machines
    open all the portals

collect organs, farm up more machines
open portals until you get to one of the portals you need for organ

    rinse and repeat

    craft ring

I'm unsure if a key will drop if you already have that key (they might have fixed this)

I know you were able to craft multiple machines so you want to have 3 ready when you start on a new ring, and probably always start with three crafted in case the last one is the one you need the organ from on subsequent trips

(you must start on the last quest of act 1, it really annoyed me when the hermits abode was not available and i had already farmed up my stacks)

Your probably right about the monster level if your in act 3 you wouldn't see any change to mp 1
I'm not sure though if the change to items rolling affixes based on monster level is universal or if it is only when you are greater then mp 1 (aka as your leveling up do all things now roll affixes based on monster level instead of item level)

When I played ptr I was playing on mp 5 for rings
Can anyone confirm that act 3 monsters on mp 0 on the ptr roll lvl 63 affixes?

I can check when I get home I guess.

    @RenescoD3
The loh nerf isn't as big of a deal as the rage issue. When you get enough tornadoes going on a boss it's not going to kill you anyway unless it one shots you and you can switch to life leach at certain gear levels. I'm debating on getting the reduction to cc effect way up there, it seems the only time I die was due to Wotb being down and not able to whirl.

As an aside if your farming act 3 now, you will probably still set it to mp 2-3 as that is supposedly equal to the current hp/ dmg

I really like the idea of infinite dungeon, maybe something that ramps up your mp lvl every 10 levels.

I love the paragon system and really hope they do more with that even to the point of AA's like eq

it would be nice to be able to not need run speed, pickup radius etc on items but instead getting it for investing time in your char.

You will do at least mp 1 at mp1 the item affixes roll off the monster level not the item level.
aka 10% crit on lvl 58 gloves

The bonus item drop is huge for finding legends, so i'd expect people to bump up to mp 2 as soon as gear permits.

Barbs will be going higher, some classes will stay put or go up when its back to one shotting whites.

The ping on minimap for legendaries is so amazingly good for barbs.
However it's yet to be seen how Wotb uptime is going to be screwed with the nerfs (I'm pretty confident it just ups the gear requirement and forces you to spam sprint more)

its important to remember that you can now farm anywhere, so act 3 only if high mob density is better then the easier mobs in act 1.

I like 700 as well for mp 5 ring farming

Look at what they are doing in 1.05 letting affixes roll on any ilvl of gear after monster power 1

You will be able to find bundles of gear (most of it will suck like now) but everything is worth identifying

You don't need the AH now, its just faster to sell the good gear you find and buy the good gear you didn't find then trade chat.

I do like the idea of more account bound gear, or unlocked gear.
As in until you beat act 2 you can't use act 2 gear.

Or if monster level was tied to beating the game on a lower monster level and gear from a monster level could only be used by people on that monster level.

However people don't like that sort of stuff and just want to be an OP face rolling machine.

As an aside monster power is going to screw up public games as I for one will do NEVER touch them (which i don't do now so I guess its no real change)
(they impliment some form of min gear lvl requirements like wow did for open monster power games)
