posted a message on Set items drop rate To low
Anyone crying about luck in this game are just making excuses. There are 3 factors to this game. Time played, Kill rate, and Torment level. Anyone who is getting more sets than you is either playing more, killing faster, or playing at a higher torment level. RNG is only a factor in the most extreme of cases. RNG begins to even out over time, and eventually you will have found every item 1, 2, 3+ times.

Secondly, there are far fewer set items than there are legendaries. That is one factor. The second is that items are this game are weighted. You may get a pair of boots, and it might be something like 15% chance of being Boj Anglers, 10% chance of being Firewalkers, 5% chance of being Ice Climbers, 5% chance of being Immortal King. This is just a made up example, but as you can see the chance of getting the top tier items is lower. Just the fact that there are 7 legendary boots to 1 set pair of boots for barb is a major factor in itself. This why these items seem more rare.

Given the above example, and given that all class sets are probably considered top-tier loot, and probably have the lowest drop chance is why they seem to be rare. The only low-tier sets are Litany, Wailing Host, Compass Rose, Traveler's Pledge, and Blackthorne's. You should expect to see these items much more frequently than your class set items.

Weapon dmg does not apply to elemental exposure.
This is not correct, it does indeed apply. Read the Elemental Exposure description:

    http://us.battle.net/d3/en/class/wizard/passive/elemental-exposure

"Elemental damage from your weapon contributes to Elemental Exposure."

Yes, elemental weapon damage is being converted to the skill's element but only after EE.
I'm a noob, didn't even know that. Thanks man.

Weapon dmg does not apply to elemental exposure. All your weapon dmg is converted to whatever type the spell you are using says. So if you have fire dmg on your weapon, and cast frozen orb, all that fire dmg is converted to cold dmg. Elemental dmg on weapons is mostly for vanity.

Every fully leg'd out DH has at least 55% dodge in addition to being ranged and having supreme mobility of the gods. If you're not asleep, any hits you do take usually miss
Wrong, Fully Legendary DH here, 7196 dex and only 33.2% dodge.

As for the topic dodge is absolutely garbage because more than half the damage in the game cannot be dodged. You can't dodge molten, plagued, poison enchanted, desecration, poison clouds (ie ghom), soul siphon (ghosts). I don't think you can dodge lightning storm either. I don't think you can dodge any sort of charge abilities, knockbacks, stuns, etc, So many things that you cannot dodge, it really is a useless stat and the main reason why demon hunters can have tons of toughness and still be incredibly squishy.
Okay, fully leg'd with GOOD legs, lol @ your gear
How do you even know what gear my DH uses? Secondly, that was pretty insulting. Even with Max rolls in Dex in every single slot and max dex gems in chest and legs you could only reach 9367 dex, which would only be 43.2% dodge, which is far from your made up 55%. You would have to be Paragon 2050 with all points in Dex before you had enough Dex to reach 55% dodge.

posted a message on What's more important, damage or toughness??
    Quote from Jaetch

I'll take 95% damage reduction and 1 million toughness over 80% damage reduction and 2 million toughness any day.
I disagree. Toughness is a fine stat for a ranged class who is supposed to be avoiding damage anyway. Having more toughness will keep you alive longer than not having it. The only case where this isn't true is if you are stacking a lot of +healing. If that is the case you are right, pure mitigation will probably suit you better. But with my character I find the +healing stats to be rather weak. A larger health pool means larger heals from potions and health globes are more than enough to keep me alive even in the higher torment levels (torment 5 is where I like to play). I tend to go for the higher toughness, and only favor +healing if I'm getting a lot more than the value that I would get from the toughness.

    @deleo
Toughness is going to give you a higher chance to survive a hit from one of those guys over pure mitigation.

Edit: I was mixing EHP and Toughness up in my head. In actuality you want a higher EHP, since toughness includes dodge. But still, EHP is more important than pure damage reduction, imo. For a wizard this isn't too big a deal since I don't think you will be equipping gear with dexterity on it.

The answer is, of course, a happy medium. If you are dying get more toughness. If you are not, get more damage. If you are killing things too quickly/easily increase the torment level. And again, if you are dying get more toughness, etc. etc.

I like to keep all the items I find with an increase in either toughness or damage, and swap them on according to the situation.

posted a message on Cull of the weak + Cold based weapons?
Cold damage affix on weapons doesn't slow anymore. Before it did, but the damage range was much lower than other weapons and so it wasn't viable. They removed the effect and upped the damage range to that of the other affixes. Maybe pre-patch cold weapons still slow, haven't tested it.

posted a message on Beating the Cursed Chests and Cursed Shrines
Hey guys, so I wanted to make a thread about the Cursed Chests, which require you to kill 100 mobs in a limited amount of time, and the Cursed Shrines, which require you to defeat 5 waves of mobs, each in a limited amount of time.

Right now, I find myself able to easily solo clear Torment 1 at a very face pace, but once I find a Cursed Shrine I have trouble even defeating 2 or 3 waves with my standard build. I was wondering if anyone was interested in theorycrafting a Demon Hunter build that could easily complete these challenges?

Good gloves but it takes over 4 minutes to get to them. Just post a screen shot here or at least just post the stats so people don't have to be subject to Twitch advertising and trying to fuck around for awhile just to see what you're going on about.

I feel like the gloves were only half of the point of this thread. You don't really understand what goes into finding an item like that until you've seen the reaction of the person who got it. Just looking at a picture of the item kind of defeats the purpose, and if you don't want to watch twitch advertising just download adblock, or move to the next thread.

Anyway, I thought the video was awesome. I'm really happy for that guy. They made such an impression on him that he even decided to switch classes, rofl. If only we all could have that luck :P

posted a message on Gold duping in diablo
    Quote from Enty

You know it's actually quite comical to see people bitch and complain about the thing they say they want. Before it was "OMG AH RUINS GAME DELETE IT!!!" now that effectively the AH is useless to the vast majority of players due to gold prices becoming non - existent ala duping all I hear is " OMG BLIZZ RUINS GAME MOAR!!! *WHINE* i CAN'T BELIEVE IT NOW HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO GEAR UP?" It absolutely makes me laugh at how stupid some people can be. I'm taking this gold thing as a sign from the heavens. Keep the shit the way it is now let people have the excessive amounts of gold they so badly wanted and see where it drives the prices too. Then the average player will have no choice but to actually FARM their gear and hey that's not a bad thing. It's a lot more rewarding when you can say I self found all my BiS gear.

On another note if Maka says this patch is good then that's also a sign from the heavens that this game is on the rise!

Wow, not everyone hated the AH? People have differing opinions? What a shock. Just because you see some people hating on the AH doesn't mean everyone does. Once something like this happens, where it actually affects those players that were once silent they now have a much greater desire to voice their opinions because they want things to go back to how they once were.

    Quote from Crashhh1

Blizzard made billions from the RMAH? Don't make me laugh lol. Not even close.

Think of it this way: Let's say theres 6million ppl still playing (not likely)

if each person spent $100 dollars on the game (they haven't), then thats only $600million. Blizz gets, what, 15%? so $90million in that case.

In reality I might say theres 1million ppl playing, and less than half have ever used the RMAH. A lot who have, probably have only used like $10-20 tops. That puts profits very low lol. The game wasn't succesful so it didn't generate a lot of profit after launch, so theyre not going to add much content.
Isn't it like 1.25 + 15% or +30% if they send it to their paypal per item? So, it could easily be much higher than what you are saying.
