Same situation as me except less hours on D3. It doesn't bother me because they put more into this game then they ever did in any of the other instalments (they also had to because vanilla was crap). Every Diablo game goes into maintenance mode at some point, heck this game almost made it 5 years before that point, but now they are adding DLC... cry much?

Then again could be trolling... or sarcasm? I dunno, all these salty tears of late are delicious though.

Playing Diablo since 97. I know nothing and having nothing good to say, I be a troll.

I am glad the disappointment of the fan base is so entertaining for you. At least you get something out of the Diablo series. I am not surprised you have fewer hours into D3, You probably spend most of your day trolling forums. Well played sir.

I have played diablo since diablo 1 release. I have about 2500 hours played on D3. I am very disappointed in the announcement. It is a slap in the face.

posted a message on When will you start your HC journey in RoS?
    Quote from Snap7

Just like Ruksak and Zero said, Hardcore has really made softcore a bore for me.

I used to play HC on d2, and planned to only play hardcore when d3 launched, but the endgame was so impossibly hard at launch that we never bothered to make the switch to HC. It was only the other day when I was playing through just for the achievs that I realised I should have switched over a long time ago. Now, with approx 300 para levels on softcore I can't get rid of the feeling that I've wasted so much damned time.

From now on it's hardcore only, although I'm gonna play through act 5 RoS on SC just to check it out, just to see if there's anything that could surprise 1 shot me.

I feel so sad that with a SC account that would be around lvl300, I've got nothing to show on HC for it. So..so...sad.

    :QQ:

    Why didn't I play hardcore sooner...whhhhhhyyyy!?

I played through the impossible end game at launch. I was accused by my friends of "playing scared", but my characters lived a bit longer than theirs. In any event, i have only played HC, and i don't regret it. As long as they do count dead HC paragon for the account wide paragon 2.0, i am around account paragon level 85 in hc right now, and hope to be over 100 when RoS launches. I can't wait.

I have had this happen on my laptop as well. I believe the issue in my case was caused by heat build up from having the air vent from the video card partially covered up. That could be the issue you encountered as well. The graphics in d3 can stress even a good laptops graphic card.

    Quote from Nigelism

Having played both monk and wizard in inferno, I'd say monk is by far the easiest. I enjoy wizard more tho.

I agree with Nigel completely. Monk is easier. Just go in with 1400 res all, which isnt that hard, a nice 1h and some LOH, and you ready to go. Wizard. One missed teleport or basically any mistake and your history.

posted a message on What's the point in playing HC?
    Quote from Equinox9

Well, it would show when your grouped with someone else, but your right Nioxic. You don't really have the ability to show off your gear, as there is no character icon representation in chat (major fail by blizzard). So a HC character could only show off their banner, and gear by grouping with other people and showing them in party at the main screen...for whatever thats worth.

My biggest complaints with D3 are:

    1. Only 4 people in a group ....seriously?
    2. No character avatars in chat....we had to take a step back from Diablo 2?
    3. No PVP and no hostile...the promise of future arenas..bah
    4. No rune drops
    5. Can't pick your game or game parameters. Why can't we peruse a selection of games to join like before? Why so many steps backward on functionaltiy?

There are other complaints but I won't go into them all. The fact of the matter is I will put hundreds if not thousands of hours into the game, but I really don't understand why Blizzard is failing (in my opinion) on some of these items. Especially the chat avatars.

EDIT: I had a change of opinion on most of these items. I think Jay said Blizz is seriously taking the complaint about showing off your gear more easily in bnet chat a priority. There is a way, you can just right click anyones name in the channel and see their gear and everything about them. However, there is no automatic visual representation. Anyway. 4 person groups, now agree. No pvp, im ok till later. no rune drops- i like it better the way it is now. I would still like to be able to select a game from a list of titled games as an option to automatic queing by quest.

One more note: Blizzard has done a fantastic job. I am so completely thrilled with how i see the game turning out, i cant describe it. The level of thought, and detail they put into this thing is incredible, if not outrageous.

Thank you guys....i know its just a game, but its something I love.

I just wanted people to see the changes in my thoughts since then.

posted a message on Monk Attacks Look Lackluster Compared To Other Classes
Just a few general observations after having been in the beta almost since the beginning. The monk can have a massive impact on gameplay if his combination of crowd cc like blinding are used in a nice combination with group healing. If you have a super offensively strong group with good defensive support, you ill have to find a monk at its heart, although a tank build barb might serve ok, he can't group heal.

I think all the classes are fun and that blizzard has done a great job. I have run through the entire beta probably 40 times.

Monk will be my first character, and barb probably my second.

posted a message on "Way of the Ninja" Build for speed and agility
    Quote from nttdemented

Well, was working late with some servers and I was playing with the Monk Calculator for the first time and after much though I think this will be my favorite Monk build with the aim to be very fast and agile with good survivability and a focus on attacking large groups.

    http://us.battle.net...YjZg!XcW!bYcYcZ

Play Style: Assuming you are walking into your next fight with your spirit full from finishing your previous fight

1 - Dash into the center of the group (Receive a 20% chance to dodge from rune for 3 secs)
2 - Cast Blinding Flash (Receive a 30% weapon damage as holy buf for 3 secs)
3 - Cast a Seven Sided Strike (Added 2 more strikes from rune)
4 - Keep casting a combo of 2 Fists of Thunder (with added spirit generation on crit) + 1 Deadly Reach (Scattered Blows) until everything is dead.
5 - If mob is big enough that you are still slamming away after 15 seconds you could recast Blinding Flash or wait till 30 seconds and recast the Blinding Flash -> Seven-Sided Strike combo.

Keep Mantra of Conviction activated all the time! Runed with Reclamation for the % chance of life leach on hit, wich should be very effective with the ammount of hits this build is designed to do, and with the Chant of Resonance passive it will stay on for 10 minutes at a time so no reason to not keep it activated at all times. The same passive adds a good boost to spirit generation that should keep this combo system charged and ready by the time the cooldowns run out. The other two passives are for dodge and armor buffs. Could probably switch out "Seize the Initiative" for "One With Everything" if later in the game resists become more important than actual armor rating or just make sure that you get good elemental resists with gear.

I think this build plays well into the intended "comboing" of skills the Monk is designed for.

    Thoughts?

Just a preference, but I like alot more healing power.

posted a message on Rate my build please
    Dobrozz:

Thanks for the feedback, I completely understand what your saying I think, and here are my thoughts.

Near Death Experience: i wouldn't take this because i think that if i need it, then it means something is wrong, either with my build, my gear, or the way i play. Of course it would be totally different for Hardcore mode.

This build is a HC support build for maximum group survivability and stil a little offense to add to the group endeavor.

Beacon of Ytar: It takes what, 4 seconds off your longest cooldown? I am sure this could be actually worth it but in my mind it is just "meh."

15% off of my cooldowns means 15% more healing, 15% more shields, 15% more of my strongest offensive strikes.

And i actually would like to try seven sided strike, from the videos it looked rather "random" on who it hits and i don't like it, but probably i would change my mind by just trying it

If it sucks, ill switch it out for something else like sweeping. From what i hear, the dmg from 7 sided is devastating.

There is one thing i like very much of this build that i consider very very powerful, resolve + sweeping wind, basically lowering the damage of everyone around you by 25%, i don't know if resolve works with the air ally aoe too, but i surely hope it does.

    Dont think it does

If i was to make a partially support build i would go with something more "tanky" and less healing, like this (probably it would benefit from some additional spirit generation...)

More tanky would be ok, but the barbarians can tank, while i dmg and heal my ass off. This is for group inferno runs in HC.

    Quote from shiva911

nice build, Equinox9. However, i am not sure if we really need so much defense in active skills of the monk. I think what monk is suffering from is damage shortage, also it seems to me, when playing monk, 80% of time we will end up spamming our spirit generators for damage, here is a build i have made that i think might be able to compete with other damage classes due to giving crowd control which also enhances out major damage.

    http://d3db.com/tool...ator/monk/14000

I would really love to take seven-sided strike, i might do that if the exploding palm is not as we are thinking "250% burn damage every second for 3 second". However considering "way of the hundred fist" is already a aoe damager skill, combination of that with blinding flash and breath of heaven should allow us to stay in fight longer, as well as give boast to already high damage on the generator.

This is combination with applying "exploding palm" every 3 sec, should give us very good damage, while giving us more time on "bosses" before we might have to run out to let our cool downs come back up.

**edit: stupid copy/pasted the wrong build, fixed.

I don't think exploding palm is gonna be all you think it is, but you bring up a good point. I am thinking about switching out something for tail kick. my thought was I would make somewhat of a full heal, damage reduction build to lead a groupof dps into the hardest parts of the game.
