Shooting for a few weeks. I have 3 days off to play, but with a 2 year old, and at that point a newborn that's going to be a month old, I think I better help the wife a bit. At least she understands (she'll be playing during the down time). I don't think that it has hit me yet that the game that we've all been waiting for for over a decade is finally coming out.

Mines actually Bartuc, the Warlord of Blood. Great power always comes at a cost. The other is Lachdanan, honorable even through death, now if only he makes good on his promise of finding a way to help you. More Lachdanan please!

posted a message on GREAT deal for undecided CE buyers! ..........If you can wait!!!!!!
I wouldn't call anything a deal if it requires you to apply and qualify for a credit card. The Annual Pass is a much better deal, buy the C.E. and call Blizzard and get your key switched over. That makes the C.E. cost 40 bucks. Of course, you have to be a WoW player to get the most out of that deal. Otherwise, just shell out the 100, it beats T.O.R.s C.E. of 150, if I'm not mistaken.

Or, jay also has a NDA wich happens to drop on the same date as MoP announcement. What i am thinking is that Diablo III will be released at the same time as the MoP Beta. Seems like a move to slightly spare the servers some login. :D

If so, while the logic for sparing the servers some is valid, it would be a dickhead move to those of us who play all three of their franchises. Imagine trying to play Diablo and MoP at the same time. Of course though, after this comes out, I may never touch WoW again.

I can only compare to earlier beta to how it is now, and it's a huge improvement.

I too wonder what they are doing though.
well i checked this post earlier and i believe its things like this that are delaying the release
    http://www.diablofan...our-hero-names/

I especially like the parts where Bashiok says...
"There's a clean up pass coming for BattleTag in the near-ish future" and
"We plan to provide a name change at some point before release."

    whats your view?

I agree with all of you, and the mention about Blizzard North, if they were in charge of it, we would have got it back in '04. I don't want a ballpark date, I want THE date. People have waited long enough, if they can't get it straight by now, then why the hell are they trying. I wonder if Runic has mentioned Torchlight II lately...

Yeah, the nephalem would be an interesting story to hear about. Considering it says that they were powerful enough to possibly overthrow the gods themselves. I wonder what happened for that to be brought forth for Inarius and Lilith to think this. With Mathael gone, you think this could be he rebirth of pureblooded nephalem? Since hes been gone, hes the one ive been most curious about since hes been introduced. Just trying to figure out what hes been doing the years hes been missing. Him going all dark has me really curious about what plans he could be up to.

Did you guys ever think that maybe we the players are playing Nephalem? We've killed Diablo in the first game. We've killed Andarial, Duriel, Mephisto, Diablo (again), and Baal. Maybe we are building our character's story to include this concept? Ever since I read the first book of the Sin War, I have come to feel that my characters in the games are Nephalem. We have the power, and the will, and while it might not always be aligned with the Dark or the Light, he or she always does what is just.

Also, Lilith needs to be a main boss in the future. You don't just bring her into a book that was closely written with Blizzard, into the main plot as a character that you would love to kill or learn more about without the intention of bringing her to the limelight.

Stories that I would like to see would include the story unfolding between Bartuc and Horazon. Maybe even seeing more of the darkening of Bartuc as he changes to the Warlord of Blood. Possibly my favorite story from any form of media. It would be nice if it was an event since I doubt they can make a full game from that.

Thank you Blizzard for bringing Lachdanan back. The guy's story is a great one as well. Please bring some other characters from Diablo 1, still play the game to this day.

According to the books (not just the ones that have been written lately) such as the Dark Exile, Aiden was kidnapped.
You are mistaking Aidan for Albrecht.

Also, according to many timelines that you will find on-line, Diablo 2 was supposed be 20 years after the fact, not 1 year. Also, the latest book, the Book of Cain isn't not a book that I currently own, but hopefully soon. :)
Don't you mean D3? D2 is set directly after D1.

Yeah, I noticed that very late last night. That's my bad. Thought that I would get over here to correct. I was thinking of Albrecht.

On another note though, what are the chances that we see Lilith. It would be nice to see her as a main boss to the plot.

its rly simple and thats how blizz works they just wont announce d3 while there is goin big mop event and news posting at 19 also wow is in rly bad shape and blizz will rly want to fully focus it and 26 is the next possible monday for d3 announce, it will happen monday as always.
10 million subscribers, wow is hurting indeed...

i play wow since vanilla beta and i know the game perfectly and the shape atm is terrible subs dosent matter rly most ppl are just subbed w/o playing but i am excited to see q1 wow sub loss

lmao. most of the 10 million are subbed without playing? dude just stop...... whenever i log on the servers im on are at max what seems like 24 hours a day

now is a good time to invest in activision stock. it will rise a very high amount once D3 is announced and then HoTS and MoP. so buy now and then sell after MoP comes out

my server is very high too at pick hours but still go check the ammount of dead servers lately and the boredom goin on

My server has been 4:1-3:1 ally to horde for ages, log on at 2am, since I'm a night shift worker, and you'll see four or five people on in Org. TB has been me vs 1 ally (sometimes no ally) after midnight.

Zealot, I don't know where you got that information about Aiden, if it's in a lore book in Diablo 1 or in the novels, I've never seen it or heard that.

The warrior from Diablo 1 is the Dark Wanderer. Over the some 20 years between Diablo 1 and Diablo 2, the Dark Wanderer had become more possessed and his frame became smaller, complexion more pale, and his social attitude became more and more isolated due to the Soulstone. That is theory one which is very supported.

The other theory is that the Dark Waderer is Baal from Act V. Through the timeline of cinematic events, Baal's journey supports the visuals of the Dark Wanderer. It also would explain why they didn't name the character because then they would be giving up information for the expansion pack.

Also, for the sorcerer, the playable character from Diablo 1, they used the model for the character of Horizon, also known as the Summoner. The Warlord of Blood from Diablo 1, his name is Bartuc. He is the brother of Horizon.

The rogue makes a cameo as well as the hireling in Act 1.

Anyone wanting information on Bartuc should read the book "Legacy of Blood". The books tell a great deal about the lore of Sanctuary.
All of that is wrong. It was told at Blizzcon that the Dark Wanderer was Aidan and that the Hero of D1 was him also. And it wasn't even a year in between D1 and D2. That is the gap between D2 and D3. And if you played D2 at all, it shows the Dark Wanderer rescueing Baal from Tal'Rasha's tomb. And the sorcerer from D1 is the Summoner. Horizon died before we made it to the Arcane Sanctuary and the Sorcerer was disguised as him in order to kill those trying to stop the Dark Wanderer. The rogue is also thought to be Blood Raven.

According to the books (not just the ones that have been written lately) such as the Dark Exile, Aiden was kidnapped. You even see Diablo fizzle back to Aidens body after killing him in the first game. Also, I still play Diablo 1 on a pretty regular basis, as well as Diablo 2 with the exp pack. My point is, Aiden was supposed to be a child when you kill Diablo, so how does that work when you have a witch that is supposed to be old as dirt. I mean, did she, being 50, screw some 10 year old?

Also, Blizzard twisting and changing the story to suit your needs, but it still needs to be in the same context. Some of us have been reading these books like the Sin War Trilogy (which I know has no bearing whatsoever since it's before all these events). Also, according to many timelines that you will find on-line, Diablo 2 was supposed be 20 years after the fact, not 1 year. Also, the latest book, the Book of Cain isn't not a book that I currently own, but hopefully soon. :)

As far as what has changed, I can't tell you, I'm not in beta even though I've been playing since the launch of first game. If Blizzard changed the story of Diablo 3, that would be a real shame.

At least they brought Lachdanan back, hopefully in a fuller capacity.

Edited to specify who was twisting the story, making sure that no one thinks that I'm attacking them.
