posted a message on RNG in D3 is not true random
You do realize there are a lot more affixes that are rolled every time an item drops besides "usable" and "trash" right? As a poster above stated, there's maybe a best-case scenario of 5% of the items you get being "usable" based on all the possible affixes each item can potentially have.

posted a message on D3 or WoW
I'll play a bit of MoP, only because I have the annual pass until the end of October, but since my work schedule now prevents me from raiding, I doubt I'll stick with it after that. Unless D3 comes up with some sort of endgame other than "farm items until your eyes bleed," I'll be playing Torchlight 2 and Guild Wars 2 instead.

So when does open beta end? Anyone know?
We all knew this game would have bugs. Testers can catch some of them, but some bugs are going to slip through because they can only be caught by excessive brute force testing which is very expensive and not always possible.
The problem is, with as long as the beta ran and as many people that were in it, they could have caught all of these bugs. However, Blizzard was so protective of story spoilers (which all leaked before release anyway), that they wouldn't let beta testers play 90% of the game, so there was no way for us to see how these skill/rune combinations could be exploited. Had the full game, or at least the full compliment of skills and runes been available in beta, I guarantee most of these bugs would have been found before the game released.

As it is, we're just over 2 months into finally being able to "test" the remaining 90% of the game's features for them.

posted a message on Brimstone from a blue?
I stopped salvaging items because I have nothing worthwhile to craft, but before that, almost all of my brimstones had come from blues.

posted a message on Ancient Waterway farming nerfed?
Well, after raising my MF to 144%, which was as high as I felt comfortable pushing it while still being able to survive and effectively kill the mobs, I'm seeing drops more in line with what I was getting prior to today's patch. A 60% increase in MF is substantial but not exactly statistically significant, so perhaps this was not nerfed and I just had a rough patch at the beginning.

Plus, I just had an amazing Stormshield drop, so I really don't care anymore :)

I'm not complaining about the randomness of the item level of a single drop. I'm stating that before today, I consistently got more/higher level/better quality drops than I'm getting today. After over 30 runs now, I have only gotten 5 rares, none at level 60, and blues continue to only be about 5-10% level 60, which is FAR lower than what I saw before.

I had been farming at this location several hours a day for almost a week before today, so it's not like I don't have substantial statistical data to back up my comparison.

posted a message on How to make MAD MONEY on RMAH (Not)
it's not an 80% transaction fee. It's a $1.00 transaction fee for any items sold on the RMAH. As the above poster said, this was known for a long time, even before the game released.

posted a message on Ancient Waterway farming nerfed?
Wondering if anyone else has been farming this today and noticed it too. Before today, I was farming the rare pack outside the Ancient Waterway in Inferno Act 2 and would get 1-2 rares every 3-4 runs, and the blues they dropped were generally about 50-60% level 60, the rest lower. As of today, the blues they are dropping ares than 10% level 60, and I haven't had a single rare drop in over a dozen kills.

I figured Blizz would nerf it sooner or later, but just wanted to see if that's the case or if I'm just having awful luck on drops.

EDIT: Before today I had 83% MF on the gear I used for this. Today I have 99% MF and still seeing worse drops than before.

posted a message on A3 without 40% block?
If you're playing tank-style, you can also look at improving both your block amount (by getting a sacred shield), and your maximum health. Simply reducing how much damage comes in while increasing how much damage you can repair with your %healing abilities can have a substantial effect on survivability.

Not to mention, if you're running Nerves of Steel, that extra vitality is going to turn into additional mitigation for you.

Doesn't matter what his excuse is. If you weren't violating the ToS by selling/trading outside of the game, you wouldn't leave yourself open to these kinds of scams. Ultimately it won't matter because you'll get banned and won't be able to sell any items, legit or not.

Learn from your mistakes, and stop breaking the rules.

Murdering a killer doesn't make it legal. Both of you should be banned.

posted a message on Diablo Authenticators Available!
Interestingly enough, they are waiving shipping fees but still allow you to select next-day shipping (at no cost) on these. I know it's probably meaningless as they say on the information page that orders without a shipping fee may take 15 days to arrive, but I'm still holding out hope I may see mine by the end of the week at no additional cost.

I apologize if someone else already pointed this out, but I've been periodically checking the Blizzard Store today as they had said the Diablo-themed authenticators would go on sale sometime today. Well, they're up:

    Enjoy!
