Because it doesn't matter, because it isn't a competition, because there is no way to prove it was you, because the game doesn't include any mechanism of recording that you were first. Anybody could just fake it after the fact with very little effort.
I'm sure Inferno has an achievement, and achievements have unlock dates. It is tracked in the game, just not tracked globally across the player base. Honestly your world would be no different if you never saw this thread.

I dont get why people don't think world first matter? Inferno is going to be hard, like kick you in the fucking balls hard. So yea i think it'd be pretty cool to be the first person EVER to beat it. If you don't give a care then fine, but why do you care if other people care?

Yea you're 100% right everyone who is marathoning is a fat piece of shit who sits at the computer 24/7 with no gf/kids/job etc... Wrong. I have a full time job 2 kids a fiance and try to exercise daily and I'm sure most others do as well. Been waiting for this game for near a decade so I'm pretty sure me playing 24 hrs isn't a big deal.

I've done 44 hours before and was fine, I'm not refering to gaming but still i was fine. No one is gonna die from this marathon people, and if anyone would like to take up a gold bet for all to see i will.
44 hours is nothing, I grew up with a group of friends doing that every 2-3 weekends or so. 2-3 days is not a health risk either. But there are many people aiming for 4-5 days even some going for the world record which is ~5 days of consecutive gaming.
I made a thread about my 24hr marathon and people were like, rip. Point is I'm pretty sure anyone who is doing a marathon will not be stupid about it, eat healthy etc... People do this for every WoW xpac and some peeps did it for swtor. I still stand by no one dies and i'll put in game gold on it.

Things like this always seem to worry me somewhat because i sit in my work chari for at least 8 hours a day play games as well after work. I do go out and exercise but still, you never know.
For someone skipping the story (which is retarded) they will probably complete it in about 8 hours. For the average gamer id say prolly about 18-20 and then for the people just going through normal watching the story but are good gamers prolly about 12.
