I love the monk but I am wavering on my decision to play it first.. I want it to be the great support/heal class it could be.. I just feel its lacking something

With transcendence I feel like I would use quickening on Fists of Thunder, the way transcendence reads to me I am going to want to be constantly gaining spirit and spending it, rotating between FoT and Spirit Users

(unless one of the "radom stats" can be chance to block) b/c that would be a sick feature for an axe. Deff would go duel weilding then :)

    lol.

Two axes with a lot of +strength and chance to bock would be just as good as a shield I guess. Does anyone know is %chance to block can show up on weapons because that wouldn't be right?

With that in mind as a monk, if you are dual wielding with 2 weapons that have a lot of +strength and +dex they might actually end up being a smarter choice then the shield defensively, those two stats would bump up your armor, damage and dodge chance.

My thoughts exactly on dual wield, a shield IMO only gimps dps output, with all the "heal on execution" kind of moves you can incorporate, I see survivability going DOWN with a shield as opposed to quickly striking to keep heals rolling

The monk between its heals and bubble should have some great survivability.. constantly racking up heals I think its gonna be a good choice for HC

posted a message on Combination Strike (confusion)
I think the big point with Combination strike is that its constantly rolling right? So the way I see it in the heat of battle, im constantly rattling up dps boosts, might not always be maxed but its going to keep resetting giving an overall big dps boost

Fists of Thunder with Quickening and Combination strikes as a passive should throw up tons of spirit IMO

The Monk didn't strike me as the type to go around and "stealth kill" like an assassin would. The Monk seemed to be a more in-your-face fast striker that had the Mantras to fit the Paladin role. I wouldn't see him most effectively being the team "support character", but he isn't doing the heavy hitting either.

I agree.. but if he isnt great support.. and he doesnt throw out dps.. what is the role? I really want to play a monk but something is just pushing me away

Scowered over a monk build because I feel they are being overlooked.. heres my first stab

    Great pvp utility...

    Big Heal
    5 Second bubble
Utilizes stacking DPS boosts on multiple quick hits
Dmg Reduction while stunned (lots of cc's will be passed around)
Crit gear will need to be utilized to trigger lots of stuns off wave of light

I was torn on the monk, I want it to be good.. I just dont see the impact skills other classes have so far..
