posted a message on Diablo 3 Announced for PlayStation
    Quote from Pathologic

PC version didn't have offline to avoid potential security issues which don't exist in a console version. PC will not get offline mode - don't get your hopes up.

PS3 is hacked, it is possible to cheat in games already (chipped consoles will get banned from PSN eventually, but Sony is slow enough to let cheaters have their fun). And as other stated, PS4 will be based on x86, which opens up the possibility of running PS4 stuff on PC, especially on new AMD hardware (with HSA and GCN).

Potential security issues very much exist on consoles.

Kinda expected Blizzard will show up when Sony started the show. Poor Metzen's getting old.

I wonder how they're going to handle the offline part, especially for PS3. Will PS people get any AH at all? Even a GAH?
They said it's coming to PS4, no word about a PS3 version. And no, no word about Auction Houses either. I guess if they allow offline play on consoles they'll have to ease up on PC too, so... Well, I hope for that, but no, that's not real, not happening.

If tryhard never EVER uses hungering arrow why does he even put it his bar? Vengeance - Beastly Bombs are much more effective against elites.

Or just make authenticator-protected accounts a requirement on both AHs for purchases/sales above 1m gold AND make rolled back stuff BoA.

I don't agree that there are no sane/viable/feasible options for Blizzard in this matter.

    Seems like a rollback dupe.
That doesn't make it OK though.
    No off button.
Real shame that Blizzard can't make one!

posted a message on BlizzCon 2013 Storms Anaheim November 8-9
    Quote from overneathe

m4st0d0n you have to take into consideration that announcing things on Blizzcon is a way better method then just announcing it on a regular Tuesday when no one cares. The announcement can be 1 month late but in development terms that's not an issue at all. Everything cool for the 6 months prior to Blizzcon will be postponed to that date likely.

We've seen many kinds of announcements from Blizzard :) I took that into consideration, and in addition, I took into consideration that it is bad marketing to announce multiple things at once too. We've seen double announcements at Blizzcons, but no triple announcements - for that exact reason. Blizzard is busy lately, so I expect that some announcements will happen outside Blizzcon. Announcements for Diablo, WoW and Starcraft are just expansions, no big things, like new games. Totally ok to happen outside Blizzcon.

Titan: There is no official announcement regarding Titan as of yet, so "announcing more information" can't be correct logically. They'll either announce the game, or stay silent. My prediction: they'll stay silent. Blizzard got burned with announcing Diablo 3 too early, they probably learned from it. On top of that they have to sort out release dates with the other big-budget Activision MMO, Destiny, developed by Bungie, which is probably due 2014.

Starcraft: All-Stars is already late... It has been announced at Blizzcon 2011, it should be out by November (if it's not canned, that is). The Protoss expansion could be announced though, it would fit the 1,5 year expansion cycle that was planned initially.

Diablo: I'll be disappointed if they don't announce the expansion before Blizzcon. In their last Q&A they hinted at core systems changing, and the game really needs that. Things like that don't fit a live game very well though, so I expect an early expansion, one that tries to fix the deepest problems (rewards, drops and items). 1.08 and 1.09 is not a necessity, they can skip numbers to 1.1 if they feel their "real" PVP is ready. And I'd bet on it that they're deep in development of 1.1, they wouldn't have denounce team DM if they didn't have something in works already.

WoW: The last expansion got out earlier than previous ones, so an announcement in November would be late. I expect an announcement earlier in 2013.

Some of Diablo 3's music has been recorded in Abbey Road Studios, London, that might explain the BAFTA nomination ^.^

posted a message on Diablo3 Deleted Version of 2005 is now live!(LinkVideo)
So you took a SC2 character and you're walking with it on an early Diablo 3 screenshot? :) Oh, and animated the fountains! Braziers burning with real-like flames! But what will happen when you run out of screenshots? There are only 4-5 shots out in the public...

Sorry for the irony, but you deserved it when you announced your little project as "Diablo3 Deleted Version of 2005", which it is not. All we have about that game is a little glimpse on the graphics, and even if you had the skills to recreate the assets, we don't know anything about the gameplay, so it's impossible to recreate it.

Anyways, good luck with your mod, and have fun with SC2's editor.

posted a message on A doubt about how DPS works.
In general, most of the attacks will benefit from any dps increase. Attacks that have a damage over time component sometimes behave oddly, and gain extra ticks at arbitrary ApS values. You should ask about Locust Swarm and other exceptions from the general rule on the WD forum.

posted a message on Heard some rumors about xp gem/ring is no longer needed.
It was never "needed", in general, it just made leveling quicker, and it still does. But since MP bonus is bigger, the XP bonus from gem/hellfire is proportionally lower in your total XP bonus. So, if you farm MP5, your total XP bonus got buffed from 60+31+35+75=201% to 165+31+35+75=306%, and the 31+35=66% xp bonus from gem+hellfire now makes about 22% of the total XP bonus, and that's what you lose if you unequip them.

What Bagstone said, I'll just add that you'll probably need thousands of crafts to take advantage of the theoretical BISness on some slots. Amulets are probably the easiest to upgrade through crafting (assuming you don't have a billion gold amulet).

posted a message on 1.0.7 Plan Drops
A recent update from Vaeflare states that Marquise gem designs do not drop from those bosses with increased drop chance. That list applies to Blacksmith Plans and Amulet Designs only. Meaning there's no farming spot for Marquise designs, they can drop from any monster, just like the old designs.
