Hope you don't mind that I added a pic to your post, Magi!
They look great. I'm really looking forward to bashing these guys again just like in Act I of D2.

I think Lydeck's got it right. -
Mar 19, 2009Jetrall posted a message on New Battle.net Has ArrivedI love the fact that if you add your games and have legitimate serial numbers you don't have to worry about losing/scratching your install discs anymore. You can now download the game online from battlenet for free and install it over.Posted in: News
That's great. -

Dec 29, 2008Jetrall posted a message on Revised Rules & New Signature LimitPosted in: NewsQuote from "PhrozenDragon" »Did we have rules back then? Oh wait maybe we did, it just wasn't in posted as an announcement if I remember right.
No, there were an announcement. I just replaced the old announcement with this one (which happens automatically whenever you post a new announcement).
Quote from "Doppelganger" »Flaming is already covered under the section "flaming", i really don't see why to complicate the rules with vague "it leads to flaming" reasoning which is even completely faulty defined to begin with. (read the definitions of "arguing/argumentation, its not at all what Jetrall, or whoever made/defined those rules, wants to make you belief).
I am simply using the words 'argument' and 'debate' to separate out the two different concepts here. Yes, in reality the lines between the two are blurred. On this site, however, I am using argument to represent heated debate which includes flame and debate to mean civil disputes. The point of this rule is to essentially say debate is still allowed as long as it doesn't include flaming. I am not once again saying "flame is not allowed". I am saying "feel free to debate, as long as you don't break any of the other rules while doing so".
Make sense?
If you really want to be this disagreeable about a simple usage of semantics then we can do it via Personal Message. If you want to let it go and try to be a mature adult who is capable of reading just a little bit between the lines rather than being spoon-fed an explanation of my word choices, then by all means - please do. -

Dec 9, 2008Jetrall posted a message on Avatars Return to DiabloFans.comI agree. Post count is not the way to go. I've been saying the whole time that I'm not planning on limiting it based on anything. It'll be available to everyone - assuming regular avatars are used properly. (Which so far they seem to be).Posted in: News

Dec 9, 2008Jetrall posted a message on Avatars Return to DiabloFans.comPosted in: NewsQuote from "whiteghost21" »I took this as meaning it would be difficult on you to do that.
Ah. No. There I am referring to making it so that only users with 1000+ posts could have animated avatars. I'm talking about giving everyone the ability to have animated avatars. Which would be quite simple.
Quote from "Killer-Swift" »Quantity can win. Watch sports. Winning a game 100-80 is great. None of the baskets scored by the winning team could have been good, quality baskets, hell they could have all been luck - but yet still they had a higher quantity of points, and therefore won.
Although you could argue that quality would eventually prevail because it'd likely be more consistant and all it was could have been luck. But even so, quality is never always consistant. Thats why quanitity matter,s you have to put up big numbers to win.
Maybe so, but we were talking about quality of posts, not sports. -
Dec 9, 2008Jetrall posted a message on Avatars Return to DiabloFans.comI never said that. I just said I was waiting to see how normal avatars went over first then, should everything be going smoothly, I will allow animated avatars for all.Posted in: News

It's essentially making avatars a reward for being a larger part of the community than most people.

Being a veteran isn't that great. We had an amazing community built around the idea of this game which failed to live up to many of our expectations and thus many of us left. In hindsight, we probably spent so much time fantasizing about what D3could/should have been that no version could ever have lived up to our expectations.
That said, we had some good times. I suppose it's a mixed bag, really.

Flamingos also smell terrible. Have you ever been near a flock of flamingos? I couldn't stand it.
...
I'd probably want to be a dinosaur of some kind.

Speaking as a former forum moderator (actually, Admin - on this forum, no less) I can honestly say that there is a lot of pressure on us to be consistent in our interpretation and implementation of the rules. Basically what I'm saying is, if they have to punish other less "real" fans for their inappropriate content, they have to punish you - the "real" fan - equally. It's only fair.
The fact that you're now whining about your loss of privileges (and I guess your loss of face) makes you come off like a spoiled child who's had his favourite toy taken away because you were acting up to mom and dad and I find that hard to pity.
EDIT: To explain why I feel comfortable judging you on your behaviour and the way you write...
I am not an English major, per se, though I do excel in English and English Literature - but I am younger than you and can type far better. It's as simple as not substituting "u" for "you" and capitalizing at the beginning of my sentences. I feel like I can judge because I'm doing it correctly and you're not. Think of yourself as a criminal against the English language and me as a member of your jury.
Also, I used to be a forum admin here and other places (along with modding other places). Life has gotten in the way, but I do feel like I have the skills and know-how, so that point is lost on me too.

What the hell, man? Why you trying to steal my thunder?
The staff of DiabloFans clearly picked their favourite to represent the site and it currently adorns the top header of the page - just as it has for years.
In other words, the winner is me and I'd appreciate if everyone else stopped trying to downplay that and complain that no winner was chosen.
Bah humbug!
