I replaced frost nova with improved archon, less rsi, more fun and runs are faster ^^
Nova - is one of the most important key of the build
If you ok without it, so you can change another abilities to buff your archon and post in another thread. :)))

I use archon not to make this an "archon" build, but as a dps cooldown that it always up when you need it, on some packs you can't use it at all because you don't get enough healing, on others you can simply aoe them down without any problems and save a lot of time. It is also useful for killing trash and goblins.

That being said, nova is required for this build as long as you need it to survive and when you reach a point where you can't die against 99% of the elite combos, the extra damage from archon is a better addition in my opinion to your skillset.

I'm having difficulty finding the best combination of stats on rings that isn't in the 7digit range. I've been trying to fit in loh or crit on rings but it ends up being too expensive when keeping allresists and armor present. Does anyone know how i can weigh these against each other and what values to aim for. I'm asking this based on rings only, regardless of what my total stats are.

Does anyone know where I can find these, specifically for phase beasts, mallet lords, subjugators, mobs that have illogically high damage. I've been trying to find their pre-DR damage by taking my DR into account but for the mallet lord boss for example it ends up being 0.5million and although it seems correct I want to be certain.

My aim is to be able to tank the most dangerous elites without any problems so I want to research what kind of stats I'll need and if it is at all possible.

I've been farming act3 with 20% crit and 5ap on crit, if you use spectral blades along with WW its fine, star pact with hydra works too. You need more crit if you die easily but the point of the build is that you don't.

I just facetank almost everything so mobs running around isn't a big deal, and not everyone uses cold blooded either. The point i'm trying to make is that nova being unlike instant cast diamond skin is really annoying.

In my opinion spamming frost nova takes up too much cast time, a perfect situation would be one where you can kill rares without having to use nova so much.

Also getting high end upgrades for this build is impossible TT

I switched to try wind + explosive blast and its really quite nice ofcourse with the limitation of being unable to handle ranged waller mobs very effectively. I think spectral blades is really important to have though both for the insane amount of life on hit and the effect it has on arcane dynamo which i mentioned earlier and which actually increases my total damage by maybe as much as 50% since you can have a 75% extra damage explosive blast every time.

I've gone up to 12k armor and 1250allresists with 20k hp and 20% crit and I handle act3 very well, being able to sit in arcane sentries or molten for several seconds if I have a reasonable amount of monsters around me to get hits on.

Here's my updated stats, increasing my hp from 20k to 40k would make this almost unkillable.

Diamond skin and explosive blast can both be cast without an animation so attack speed doesn't matter there, but you're right about nova, its sometimes hard to cast it while also casting meteors/blades.

Dropping prismatic armor would be really hard since some monsters hit for absurd amounts even with this high armor/res but I might try diamond shards sometime at least for act2 maybe.

I do have movement speed and it being so expensive is one of the reasons I haven't found any better boots with armor :(

As an update, I just tested out arcane dynamo in expense of cold blooded, and I must say it gets 5stacks in 1-2 blade casts and works for both meteor and hydra, I don't know exactly how much it contributes but compared to the low uptime of cold blooded it seems really good for pure damage. I changed from star pact to molten impact to get more benefit from it as well.

Edit: It appears that arcane dynamo gains stacks from ticks of the deep cuts dot. This makes one cast of spectral blades almost guaranteed 5stacks of dynamo.

So I've been busy working on my defensive stats up to the point where I cant viably increase them any further, my dps has suffered a lot though and it's down to 17k and I'm going to try to get the most out of it while still looking for ways to get it to 25-30k at least somehow, probably by getting a crit dmg weapon or something like that.

Anyhow what variation of this build do you think does the most dps by means of more casts or higher % modifiers? I'm using the same spec as when i started a few weeks ago : http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/wizard#WkXROY!agT!aZabcY
I'm finding it useful in almost all situations but I find it hard sometimes to keep dps up vs fast or packs that kite you.

Anyhow here's my stats any insight would be helpful

How do you kill phase beasts with this build, whatever abilities they spawn with I always get killed way too quickly. I have 10500armor, 1250physical res, 30k hp, 20% crit and they hit for 5k per swing.

Hey, look at that, a COMPLETE list of affixes with values attached and everything. Right here on these very forums, man I'm blind. Or dumb. Or both. I'm gonna go drool in the corner now, bai guyz.

Have you even bothered looking at that page, most of those affixes don't exist or have different actual values ingame.

You have to be joking if you complain about having 20k gold, you make half a million just leveling to 60.

Actually perfect SS is 35% block but the highest i have seen is 33% and that one was up for 250 on RMAH, but if you are selling it on GAH it will fetch prob 15-25mil

It says 32% on the d3 website tho, also the random properties also determine how good it is.
