    Enemies are hex'd for about 5 seconds, not 12.

    Multiple enemies can be hex'd at the same time

    fixed... thanks for clarification

    If you can't control it, it's a useless skill that will only be used because of it's looks (it does look awesome) or if you have a weird CC build where you have both Hex and Toad.

    The great thing about Unstable Form rune is that you still get a huge benefit no matter what target gets hexed.

    Also i believe that people use Hex incorrectly. Hex is a defensive skill not an offensive one. If you cast Hex right next to your character as enemies walk towards you they walk into the Hex radius and they get hexed. When used in this way it becomes an aura (kinda) that hexes mobs that get close to you. This is also how you get hex to hex multiple targets.

    I dont like Hedge Magic for pve because it lowers the amount of targets that get hexed because half the time its healing instead of casting hex. The heals are not that powerful. In pvp however (if hex works) then hedge magic is a great option because there arent that many enemy mobs that need hexing.

    I use hex as a "guardian angel" literally watching over my shoulder (cheesey i know just making a point)... defensively stopping mobs from getting close to me.

    posted a message on Toad of Hugeness vs Hex
    I really like toad of Hugeness but I cant for the life of me think of a way to work it into a build over Hex; ie: it would actually be the optimal choice over Hex. Toad of Hugeness is essentially a weaker version of Hex Painful Transformation for a few reasons.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Toad of Hugeness -
    1) only CCs for 5 seconds
    2) only does a total of 100% weapon damage during that duration.
    3) only can only cast 1 at a time.
    4) The damage is physical - there are no synergies with passives or other spells
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Hex w/Painful Transformation

    1) CCs for 5 seconds (but stays active more than twice as long as Toad).

    2) Painful Transformation does damage at 12% weapon damage per tick for 12 seonds = 144% total weapon damage over its duration. (44% more damage than Toad)

    3) a single Shaman can cast hex on numerous targets locking down more of the mobs; toad can only lock down 1 target at a time. This is way better than the shorter CD that Toad brings because its less micro management required and that means more time DPSing AND its more control on the screen too. (Note: Hedge Magic doesnt cast Hex as often because it throws in heals sometimes instead. However if you use Painful Transformation/Unstable Form, Hex is cast numerous times)

    4) Other Rune Effects are even Nastier and have GREAT synergies with other abilities - My personal favorite is Hex w/Unstable Form seems to blow Toad of Hugeness out of the water with its 135% AOE poison damage which lends itself to nice synergies with PtV and Bad Medicine. This gets especially nasty when a few enemies are hexed.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Im probably not understanding something here... but can someone please explain to me why Toad of Hugeness would ever be chosen over Hex (painful transformation and Unstable Form especially)?
    I will be using the wrathful protector in group plays. I think gargauntan can go down pretty quick in a 4 man game inferno
    disagree. already been confirmed by blue that pets scale well with regards to difficulty and number of players in game. In short, as mobs become harder to kill your pets also become harder to kill. will know for sure once game goes live but still... im inclined to believe blue posts at this point.
    posted a message on Vision Quest build for lvl 40+ leveling in NM/Hell
    personally im not a fan of vision quest. I like to use my abilities when i need to use them. I dont like having to keep my abilities on CD, risk not having them when the time is right, only to regen mana. I would rather use Spiritual Attunement as its easier to use so i can focus on other things.
    posted a message on what are your favorite combos?
    Here are a few of mine:
    http://us.battle.net...ch-doctor#W!W!c
    PtV adds a very nice damage boost to Toad Affinity without suffering any negatives. 156% weapon damage (up from 130%) all for zero mana cost.
    http://us.battle.net...h-doctor#hZ!!bb
    Cast GotD then DPS the same area with Fire Bombs (w fire pit) so they are stuck moving and eat all the AOE + DOT damage. The Dot Damage stacks so its possible to get 2-3 stacks with little effort because the mobs cant move out of the way fast enough.
    http://us.battle.net........P!W!.....a
    PtV brings fetish ambush to 300% weaon damage (up from 250%). If all 5 fetishes can ambush 1 target (lets say you cast Fetish Army direcly centered underneath an elite/boss etc so that all 5 fetishes can ambush it) thats 1500% weapon damage almost all at once. Fetish army costs zero mana too so there are no negatives here. Also since the damage is frontloaded its not as important for the fetishes to stay alive that long so might be able to get away without using stuff like jungle fort to increase their survival rate.
    http://us.battle.net...itch-doctor#V!W
    PtV brings sac damage to 330% per dog. Again PtV scales amazingly with big damage abilities. Sac costs zero mana as well.
    http://us.battle.net...octor#cg!..X!ZY
    Both Vampire bats and Phlebotomize out-heal the self inflicted damage of Blood Ritual; given you have a decent base damage weapon. Blood Ritual goes great with "leeching" type of abilities.
    posted a message on Spirit Walk Useless?
    Quote from Ruppgu
    No way, I'm going to stack run speed and go with a Spirit Walk - Severance build. I'll be walking all over those demons! :P
    agreed. im using spirit walk + severence (most likely) for a couple of my builds. If i can walk through walls with it then its definitely a keeper ability. its a good escape tool on a 15 second CD (shorter than horrify). Not to mention is looks badass graphically imo.
    Combined with abilities like grasp of the dead its a great kiting combo:
    1) cast GotD in front of you whilst pummeling mobs with DPS
    2) mobs walk over GotD trying to get to you
    3) spirit walk (with severence) through the mobs stuck on GotD and come out the other side.
    4) mobs turn around (still snared) and start chasing you in the opposite direction.
    5) repeat the kiting sequence 1-5 until nonranged mobs are dead. .
    since the CD is only 15 seconds its like a never ending kiting sequence vs nonranged mobs.
    posted a message on Gargantuan: Wrathful Protector vs Restless Giant... am i missing something?
    Quote from MasterFischer
    Restless giant has a 120 cooldown..
    Wrathfull protector is ALWAYS on... that's the difference..
    Though the garg only lasts 15 secs ;)
    right... and so does the restless giant effect last 15 seconds; cept the restless giant is always around so its effective even when not turbo charged for 15 seconds.
    i cant think of a reason why id ever want to pop wrathful protector unless I "encounter an elite enemy or is near 5 enemies" (ie: those times that restless giant proc on its own anyways)
    furthermore the damage output isnt even comparable. Restless Giant does 200% and has attack and movement speed bonuses which just the same as even more DPS. The wrathful protector's damage doesnt seem to compare. Even with the 2 min CD of restless giant, the damage output is so much more not to mention restless giant is doing damage even when the CD is up. Wrathful Protector does not.
    Wrathful Protector
    Summon a more powerful Gargantuan that only lasts for 15 seconds. The Gargantuan's fists burn with fire, dealing 55% of your weapon damage as Fire and knocking enemies back.
    Unlocks at Level 39
    Restless Giant
    When the Gargantuan encounters an elite enemy or is near 5 enemies, it enrages for 15 seconds gaining:
    20% movement speed
    35% attack speed
    200% Physical damage
    This effect cannot occur more than once every 120 seconds. Elite enemies include champions, rares, bosses, and other players.
    Unlocks at Level 29
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Can someone please explain to me the reason why wrathful protector would ever be chosen over restless giant? restless giant seems much better and is offered at a lower level and requires less micro management.
