Wizard ftw, imo. Crystal shield is a lifesafer, teleport will get you out of sticky situations, and disintegrate + archon are solid wtfpwn.

I know barb has trouble in higher difficulties in SC, my buddy keeps dying on his monk in HC, and I've read on the forums here that ppl don't really like the WD that much.

I'm not that far into things, but I know the level rule of thumbs are 30, 50, 60 for the difficulties, and always stack as much vit as your main stat. Ever since I started stacking vit matching my main on every piece of gear, I've had no problems with "oh shit" except when frozen stuff comes along, even then my vit gives me a decent number of hits before panicking.

As for Inferno, nobody knows yet!! Ask those guys that just cleared Hell haha.

posted a message on What's the point in playing HC?
I played HC for my first playthrough for the "thrill" of not knowing what was coming. With 2 other friends, the first time the 3 of us set on the butcher not knowing what was going to happen ... incredible! Running around like chickens with no heads looking for a way to heal and finding out that he throws spears at you when you run away and the floors randomly burn you!

The economy is also an excellent reason to play HC: once you level a barb in SC, that's it, those items are never used again. You could have the best level 15 item in the game for a barbarian, and it would never matter after several levels. On HC, however, you save that item because if your barb dies later, you can use it again when you relevel him back up. Also, the awesome items your barb was currently wearing are now gone forever: a true item sink! As the SC economy inflates with the best gear and eventually all there is is level 60 PvP or Inferno gear with 1 or 2 stats varying, the HC economy should be fairly stable and all levels and qualities of items should be fairly consistently valued.

Fearing death adds a hell of a lot to the game for me and friends. But I also have other wussie friends that just treat the game like WoW and want to just grind to the end and be done, so I also have SC characters to play with them. Be careful when switching between modes, however, I've already lost a HC character because I was just playing SC and just charged into a ball of enemies and died forgetting I only had 1 life!

So are the people who cleared Hell in Hardcore brave enough to face Inferno yet? :S

I just cleared normal with my group, and we were very cautious lol. I assume it'll be awhile before they get into Inferno as they'll probably want as good of gear as the guys who corpse jumped through A4 inferno, before they even start.

As for the hacks, so many disappointments Blizzard! This just adds to the list ...

Speaking of disappointment, since I finally cleared normal (we're doing HC-only), man was the story ever disappointing and predictable. And the Diablo fight was terrible (multiple silly phases in different areas). They did so much stuff right with the story (talking on the go, lore books, etc) yet they still fail to put quality writing into the thing. I'll have to go find a topic to contribute to, there's probably lots rofl.

I think they should just change it so that you don't rez with full health and with your potion on cooldown.

Dying and getting a rez is just an easy way to get a full heal right now.

    I like this one!

    Agreed.

Simple fix, 1 Rez per character during boss for inferno, 2 for hell, 3 for nightmare, and so on.

I've added your suggestion to my OP. I think that would fix it quite well.

What I don't understand is how Blizz didn't see this coming in their testing. Maybe they liked being able to rapid rez each other?

posted a message on Fix Resurrection! (Please)
I've made a topic on D3GD if anyone wants to go there http://us.battle.net...ic/5270827076#1

But I figured we have a more mature and better community here on diablofans to discuss this (copied from the thread):

The current resurrection mechanic is fine for normal, but in higher difficulties, dancing around and resurrecting constantly in battle is silly. You should fear death in Inferno, not because it costs you a small amount of money, but because it might make you completely wipe and lose the whole encounter.

The current system just allows people to cheese their way through bosses in inferno, and it also lets you run around in higher difficulties without fear of dying at all, besides the slight damage to your wallet!

    Possible suggestions:
    - make the rez time longer for each difficulty (say x2 for nightmare, x3 for hell, etc)
    - make the rez casting cancel when you get hit (currently only cancels when you're stunned)
    - make the enemy who killed you gain power
    - disable rezing more than once (or x times) in inferno in a span of time (no spam rezing on one boss) [Ixir suggests 1 rez in inferno, 2 in hell, 3 for nightmare, etc per character]
    - make the rez timer increase the more times you die in a row (yes, like WoW)
    - rez players with little health and potion on cooldown [Prunetracy suggestion]

What do you guys think? Anyone else annoyed by the ease of jumping back into things mid battle, even in higher difficulties? Your ally's should have to finish clearing the mobs before saving you at least!

All you people who actually got to play can go stfo. It just got delivered by Amazon (didn't want to skip work, didn't want to put up with the launch madness), just get it installed...and BLAM - You must wait 30 minutes until 3:30 PDT.

Much better than missing a day of work to have the majority of that time being interrupted or unable to play! At least you should theoretically have the rest of the night without interruptions.

Now it is 3 hours... 10:22am originally and it's updated to come up at 1:30pm.

Such a piss off. Hate taking a day off to have it half gone by downtime.

Does anyone know of a way to unlock HC before level 10? My friends are currently playing HC without problems.

Hm.. i just noticed on my Bnet account that i already have a starter edition there even though i have not typed in the guess pass key. For comparison i asked my friend to check his account, and he does not have one.

Note: I was in the closed Beta and he was not.

Thus a question to you guys.. Do you have the starter edition and did you take part in the Beta? Because from what I see it appears that closed beta players appear to have the starter edition without the guest pass invite from a friend..

I was in the beta and just checked and yes, I have the starter edition already. I'm curious if this is how they're giving away the feat of strength "in the beta"?

I've submitted a ticket to ask the questions we're wondering and will let you know what I find out.

But it looks like it's good news for me, as I cannot get my copy until 10am, due to silly no midnight opening. But this means that I can go level my guy to 10, unlock HC, level him to SK in HC, sleep, pick up game and continue! Excited!!

Anyone know in other "starter" shit, does the character you make also upgrade with your account? I want to play at midnight and unlock hardcore for my play the next day when I get my actual retail copy :P (my friends can invite me to starter)

I'm totally confused as to why max resist to all is 80% yet max resist to one element is 60% ... why would you ever want 1 element :o

This has to be an error.
