posted a message on Stretching my luck thin with current build?
    Thanks for the advice!

I gave it a shot a bit earlier and results were about half and half (though I'm sure not being used to the set-up didn't help, and I think if I do run with a signature spell, Spectral healing blades isn't the best atm). Some elite packs were better, some were worse. I did find my HP to drop more rapidly when I came across some of the harder ones. But overall it went good and I have a new spec to play around with. Now if I could just figure out a good way to take down these vortex, illusionist, reflects dmg, arcane phasebeasts.

posted a message on Stretching my luck thin with current build?
    Afternoon all,

I was actually just looking for some feedback on my current build and gear. I've been able to get into Act IV with what I have, but I just feel like I'm severely limiting myself with my builds. I've tossed around other ones but they just don't seem to have any luck with my current gear. For most of my Act 3 progression I removed signature spells from my build and just ran with Arcane Torrent (the disruption +arcane dmg rune) and threw on Magic Weapon (Force Rune). With Arcane Torrent and Arcane hydra I felt pretty successful in what I was doing but it got boring channeling spells and because my crit and +arcane power on crit are almost non-existent I was always power starved.

As I can't post links yet, my Battletag is Nifleheim#1194, and my wizard is Sylmarea.

I haven't made much gold (floating around 4mil) for upgrades and my usual farming runs include clearing all floors of the Keep in Act 3 and then killing Azmodan (find him stupidly easy compared to Ghom and I have troubles putting out enough DPS to keep up with all the spiders on Maiden). Any advice would be helpful, either on some ideal equipment to keep an eye out for or some alternatives to a build I could try out with my current gear.

    Thanks!

P.S. I do have a normal neck with +resist all and int, just run with the current one while farming.

Excellent job, envious of your talent. The only thing I would think about is his right arm (the one in front). The left arm has a lot of definition in his deltoid and bicep and then looking at his right arm it just seems flat. This may be due to his shoulder armor casting the shadow over it, but I thought I'd throw it out there.

First time poster, long time reader.

So after not winning any contests/opt-ins for the beta, it felt good to assist in some stress testing this past weekend. While hopefully Blizzard got some good testing stats out of it, I feel more inclined to talk about my experiences in the fresh levels that I got to run.

First of all, the game remains true to it's origins and is a great run through. While I ran through with my older brothers (both older than 30 and sharing in our previous D1 and D2 experiences) I felt the game felt very linear but also polished at the same time. I did feel restricted to consistently following the story line, which I'm sure will prove to be amazing throughout the course of the game, but it just felt weird. As I've read I'm sure the game gets lets less linear with the learning curve and more exploration based in later acts which is very promising.

Also I played all but the Barbarian to level 10, or end of Beta whichever came first, and somehow my favorite class seemed lackluster. I have always loved the caster classes, played a sorcerer in D1, sorc. in D2, and yet the Wizard seemed mostly blah. I'm sure it's just the limited Beta play that added into this, what with the limited spells and runes, but I'm just not sure about making it my main. I thought the witch doc was really fun with her spells and atmosphere (minus the pets as I'm not a huge fan of pet-reliant specs), the Demon Hunter felt extremely agile and promising (though a lot of beginning spells were also lackluster), the monk felt action packed and then the wizard I just felt was ok. I'm used to the agile and get your cheap shots in kindof caster/range, which the DH and WD felt more like but as I said I'm sure the play past beta would change that.

Just curious as to what other people's thoughts are regarding the overall feel of the game after being able to test it for the first time. I do feel like the developers and writers deserve a lot of credit regarding the story and feel, after so many years after D1 it still feels like the dark and twisted Sanctuary I left back then, kudos to you.

P.S. Was beta meant to have a lot of magic find items? i felt like that was the only gear I could find other than yellows. And here's hoping there's a lot more to Adria, I always felt she was a curious and interesting character I never got to learn about in D1.

posted a message on DiabloFans Calculator Build Contest (ONE POST ONLY)
Here is the link to my WD build:

    http://us.battle.net...gdUV!YUa!YaYcac

With this build I was attempting to recreate a mix between D2's sorceress and necromancer. I always enjoyed creating a bone Necro and wasn't so keen on the pets as they seemed rather weak. So with this build I look to improve my own spells, with a variety of AoE, escapes, and single targets. Firebomb and Locusts would be the main attacks, while using Spirit Barrage and Haunt to regen HP or mana depending on what is needed.

The last 2 skills Spirit Walk and Firebats are more of either a reckless charge or escape mechanism, depending if it's new content I'm trying to clear. If it's a challenge Spirit walk will be used as an escape. Otherwise it's always enjoyable to spirit walk into a group of mobs and just blow them away with a Firebat storm.

Being as this talent spec is focused on the doc and not his pets I'm assuming Jungle Fortitude is going to be needed to survive later on. I would like to change out one of the mana regen passives for a damage booster, but it would depend on how much mana becomes an issue.

Can't wait to try it out and tweak it, hopefully sooner rather then later :D
