Make a monk and look into support builds. that way you can support your necro buddies thorugh some high greater rifts. On the side make a build that you can progress throigh t16 solo as fast as possible.
The more you play the more you'll understand. My advice is Monk with Innnas Set.
Would just like to give you a few pointers:
1) Sacrifice some damage legendary gems for some sustainability/protection legendary gems.
2) Farm nephalem rifts at the torment level that allows you to complete them in around 3-4 mins.
3) Gear and level your follower, and don't be afraid to use the Unity ring - one equipped or cubbed and one on your follower. But make sure your follower has the item that doesn't allow it to die.
