posted a message on D4 classes

According to the leaked info D4 will come with mmo-lite elements but that was already easy to guess. I believe it will adopt many elements in that aspect from PoE, Lost Ark and Diablo: Immortal (town hubs, instanced dungeons, daily/weekly quests, sharded open areas etc).

The four main things i want from a diablo sequel are:

1)Next-gen graphics. I want to finally see a game with top-notch graphics from blizzard, a dark gothic art style and for god's sake beautiful spell effects!

2)Next-gen gameplay. The gameplay needs to evolve a bit imo. This can be done in various ways but the main ideas i can think of are the inclusion of active dodge or a jump mechanic, maybe some platforming in various areas inside a level, using the terrain in your advantage (like in Wolcen you can electrocute enemies inside water using electricity skills). The inclusion of mounts to the game would open up some interesting mechanics like mounted combat or an exclusive class like Cavalier. Another thing is making enemies that matter, being more tactical with more telegraphed abilities and not the arcade style slaughtering we have with D3 atm. Then there is Lost Ark where you got 8 skills with cooldowns where you must rotate between them giving a more cinematic feeling. Anyway, i think we need something new!

    3) Old school Classes. I never liked the novelty of D3 classes because they were created for the sake of being different and they ended up being bastardized concepts. Also i would like the introduction of prestige classes or paths for each main class, something like PoE where you open up some extra options for your character. Another important thing is skill and rune farming and leveling.

4)Slower Itemization and Progress. I believe an economy model closer to WoW would be beneficial for Diablo. BoP and BoE items would solve problems with trading and the auction house. They would also give more meaning to crafting and other possible professions. Also items with abilities should provide rune-like benefits and not plain damage modifiers which lead to powercreep problems. This opinion may not be popular but i would like the "quality over quantity" thing for the new game.
